Thunderheart, things may have been different if you had been in your new position sometime ago.

Not faulting you, but those who decided to make the priority changes.

Dakktunon best summed it up:

"Our confidence and trust have been broken, and it is going to take a lot more than a free painting to fix it this time..."

I for one would like the censorship to stop. Ive had two posts deleted. I didnt use profanity, I wasnt vulgar. I simply called SOE liers and listed examples of the many past incidents. My other post just had a link to another site if anyone wanted to vent their frustrations.

www.mmorpg.com is a good site where issues can be discussed without fear of censorship.

Lies of SOE

1.) Force slot being in game at launch - Please we all knew that was a lie when nobody opened their FS for 6 months, then suddenly 50 people opened over a weekend. Not to mention all those stealth patches that came in during the previous week.

2.) How to obtain FS - Well, maybe not outright lied to but certainly misled on. They gave us the impression via hints that it was some noble epic quest. I didnt shoot a single jawa for 6 months because I thought it might effect me getting a fs... pffft.

3.) Luke Skywalker - Kevin Q3PO said he was in the game but nobody had found him yet... BIG FAT LIE. one patch later (rebel theme park fix) and suddenly Luke appears in the previously empty Sith Temple. I suppose Luke was just hiding out at Kenobi's closed Hut and snuck over by shuttle that night ?

I could go on forever but these were the big ones that come to mind...

GREAT EXPECTATIONS! HA! That's what i had for this game when i bought it. I was so geeked, a Star Wars MMORPG. I was a dumb for buying a whole year subcription right off the bat. Now i'm stuck w/ it. The only thing the DEV's do is sit back and collect our cash like a bunch of sheep while they throw empty promises at us. Swearing up and down things will be fixed. While and delaying needed fixes, for what they think is "ADDING CONENT" The only thing they have "ADDED" to this game of any use is player cities and Speeders. That was the last update worth anything. What haver they done since? There's droids that spray heart's and foam all over the room and holoemotes. Well that was sure nice of you to make it look nice around here. To take away from the fact that wookies have been laying dead in the streets because they can't compeat in Pvp due to a lack of effective armor everyone else can wear. It's only been over a year that problem has exsisted from the begining. Not enough time for you? to fix broke proffesions? Do You see a whole lot of Sqad Leaders running around? No because there broke. Pistoliers can due jack squat for damg because of a 90% compsite armor. ANd don't even get me started on Smuggler. One of the main and most popular charecters in the movies, everyone thought it was going to be loads of fun, and what are they? slicers. Yeah i'm sure you'll get right to fixing em. You've only pushed it back now, what?, twice? But lets let the bounty hunters master pisotlier too so they can be super uber right away good call. I'm sure it's tough trying to make everyone happy, if that's what you were trying to do, but seeing as the majority of the post i read are people complaining, but i guess not.

Well...I'm not gunna complain, just a random thought:

When you balance the professions, think itall the way through. Example:

Master Weaponsmith Worst Gun 10-100 damage, 10 speed

Master Weaponsmith Average Gun 50-500, 5 speed

Master Weapon Smith Best Possible Gun 100-1000 damage, 1 speed

Master Pistol, Carbine, Rifle should all be tested at their best possible range against each other with a worst, average, and best weapon. Pistol should win at short range 90% of the time vs Rifle, 75% vs Carbine. Carbine should win vs both others 75% of the time at mid range. Rifle should win vs Pistol at long range 90% of the time, vs Carbine at long 75% of the time.

The current system seems to lack this testing.

Commando and Bounty Hunter should balance based on their weapon, and other skill possiblities. TKA, Fencer, Hv Sword, and Pike should ramp damage (pike) vs speed (tka). Smuggler, Combat Medic, and Squad Leader require alot of testing with various templates.

Let us, the players do the testing, too. Maybe a test server 3...with template testing in pvp being the only purpose.

Guess I'll post my 2 credits. Like it'll make any difference to most people.

My first account was activated 4 days into Live. I've seen nearly every update, hot-fix, nerf
and general change. I started into Bounty Hunter before Player Cities and Mounts. I've suffered
the horrors of bugs, game-breakers and failed promises(too bad I'm too lazy to look for the original
press releases about the BH profession). Through my alt/Holo-grinder, I've mastered all but 5
professions, 2 of which I'm working on right now.

You came, you whined, you cancelled. You begged. Pleaded. Threatened. What did it get you?
Nada. Threatening to cancel account's doesn't mean much, let alone work. There are forces
and pressures on the Development team that I'm sure none of us know about. With as many
outstanding issues as are left, I must appluad the Devs for what they've done in the last
year. This game is far and above better than it was. I've still had my fair share of doubts
as to their sanity at times.

Things still need to be changed. Badly. Combat Balance and the general state of the
Galactic Civil War really should be top priorities at this point. The penny-pinchers in the
background probably have the most to do with the push for JTL than anything.

Bottom line: Bolster the subscriber base with JTL; Fix Core game issues; Go on from there.
That's what we're looking at people. Get used to it, or go home and cry to mama.

To TH, JustG, Shug and the rest of you crazy cats at SWG central: /cheers and have one on me.

Just gonna keep on keepin' on and see what happens.

P.S. Flame all you want. Don't bother me none.

What do you mean the devs are doing a good job!?!This game has just gotten worse over the last 6 months!!

Cancel! In our moment of triumph, I think you over estimate their chances.(think thats it)

It's not good, but then there is a lot that is. I for one can wait a little while longer whilst I look at pics of the ships for Jtls and imagine the multipassenger ships. SWG has had it's problems. I started within a week of the game going live , left for 6 months and recently returned. Im amazed at how the game has improved, I can't imagine cancelling again now that the space expansion is so close, three months is a blink guys. I can understand people being so damn upset but I wonder how many that claim to be closing their accounts really will be.

Yes the CB is a pain and so needs a fix( CH here :smileysad but it's on it's way and if the devs can keep doing the unexpected during the upcoming publishes (ie more combat balances)til post Jtls and the awaited GCW and CB.

The real shock of this is that so many expected SOE to keep to it's promises whilst trying to fix a broken product and push out a space expansion that ties into such a complex mmo.

so stop the complaining and get a sense of perspective.

or cancel so we dont have to listen to the noise

It's the best idea they could have possibly had.

With all due respect to those players out there that want "what they want, when they want it", it would be foolish for the development team to rush ahead into any update for the game without giving it the due attention, which only they are qualified to say, it deserves.

My one and only hope is that this kind of 'refocusing' becomes even more common. It will not always result in delays, but at the very least, with a clearer definition of where the game is and where its headed. The developers of SWG have a lot to be proud of. And while they could have sat back and blamed these delays on any number of things they stood up and said "We're not ready yet, we need more time and a more fully developed team to do this properly". I appreciate that and I look forward to the quality of work that this action implies they are putting into this as well.

You announced the Jedi village, but you just dont get it... people are pissed that Jedi took presidence over the combat balance.

Jedi is not the first, or the onlyProfession Revamp, that's taken precedence over Combat Balance (CB).

CB was announced during final stages of Cities in December, as a 3 month installment plan beginning after Holidays. At end of January, it was announced it might be delayed because Droid Engineers were getting a revamp, due to a large request of community for a much needed "Star Warsy atmosphere". Not only was there one monthly publish for DE, there were TWO. (like Jedi) They said they'd address CB after. I don't recall anyone blaming Droid Engineers for getting the love over CB.

Then they announced that Image Designers were getting a revamp, because they wanted to make more customization options available to the "social" minded players, and that CB was being delayed indefinite (public outcry) then changed until Summer (no set date). CB was delayed for Image Design... yet no one complained about ID getting the love over CB.

Then they decided that "hmm, hologrinding is ruining the game" (duh) and that they wanted to rework the entire Jedi system in a 2-part publish. Combat Balance was NOT announced as delayed at this time, it was instead actually given a schedule into the Publish 10 release. Jedi = very touchy subject with some players who were frustrated at the difficulty, sothey complained loudly that Jedi should just be removed instead of pre-empting Combat Balance. (forgetting that CB wasfinally placed into a publish schedule at this time)

Jedi class Revamp was completed. Force Sensitive System is now in the development stages, then SOE announces that they are now delaying the CB until after JTLS releases, due to "needing the entire team to accomplish the task of Combat Balance". Their decision has absolutely nothing to do with Jedi... they didn't say that they need everyone working on Publish 10, they said they need to get past JTLS integration with the current game, before dealing with Combat Balance.

But yet I see several posts trying to blame Jedi revamp for the delay. NO, WRONG. This is the 3rd time that CB has been postponed and it's due to JTLS, not anything related to Jedi. Matter offact, it wouldn't matter if nothing was being done with Jedi right now, they would still delay the CB until after JTLS.

So if everyone is going to throw blame, at least throw it accurately. I'm not debating whether or not Jedi is "chronologically correct" with the game's timeline, or whether Dev time would be better spent on fixing some other class that is not waiting on the CB... I am simply pointing out that Jedi has absolutely nothing to do with the delay to CB, in fact the Jedi revamp was designed to be balanced **with** the CB as part of Publish 10, so Jedi are actually more"broken"than the rest of the Combat profs for the next 6 months.

I agree that Jedi should not be in this timeline. But I do recognize the marketability and player desire for Jedi, it's what makes Star Wars, "Star Wars", so I understand why they prefer to place emphasis on the Force portion of the game. SOE is a business out for profits and has accountability to stock share-holders, they are not a non-profit fan club running this game simply for the pleasure and adulation of Star Wars fans. But, I'd still prefer to see them move the timeline ahead to immediately after the Emperor's death, it would make things more accurate all around. (Rebel to Imp ratio, etc.) That's my wish as to what would make this wholegame more "Star Wars" to me, but obviously I'm not going to get that wish. So I take it for what they give me and hope they'll eventually move the timeline forward past all of this "arguable accuracy of the timeline".

What makes Star Wars 'Star Wars' is th expire vs the rebellion.
