Thread: Desired Rewards

If player crafters can just make something better, why would anyway want to do a long, hard quest or dungeon?
The schematics are great ideas:
- A rare weapon or armor that isn't necessarily more powerful than existing weapons (but they'd have to be comparable to the 'best' weapon of their class) but which have a really neat effect or just look cool being held / worn. (Even just a different colored blaster beam would be cool)
- Rare furniture or house add-on such as fish tanks, rugs, paintings, water fountain, etc
- A new house type!
- New droids.
- Special clothing. A uniform perhaps. There are not many hats in the game, that'd be neat way to stand out in the crowd. Sunglasses, too.
The Krayt Dragon parts are a great idea so other items like those would be good.
With the new player mounts coming, how about a special mount as a reward?
I suggest you move away from standard RPG scenarios and move towards more GCW oriented quests.
Galactic Civil War, rebels vs imperials, Star Wars, that should be the focus of the game, not fighting wild animals or doing quests for random people in town that have nothing to do with rebels fighting against an empire.
I don't care about loot as much as I want to feel like I'm playing Star Wars. Going out on missions to attack some people at a generator is not Star Wars. Even the Emporer's Retreat missions are just variations on dull mission terminal stuff. Escorting someone is not the Star Wars I had in mind.
The reward of joining some Stormtroopers for an assault on a base or a starship would be that it's fun.
artwork and items that crafters are not making - I see furniture, paintings, plants, etc in buildings and dungeons that are not user crafted ( not at this time anyways ).....doesn't compete with crafter currently and adds to the look of your home -
My bounty hunter now goes on unique mission hunts instead of PvP, PvE or BH missions ( boring ) - it is more fun to run a mission and get an ATST helmet to hang on my wall - or fish every lake to get all of the fish for my walls, a bantha statue was a nice addition to the top of my entertainment center, a camera, a electronic key lock, an Imperial Med pack, etc...you get the point - it is more fun to go after these items. The Maurader Theme park was kewl but only for the King, he gave you the armor but the other missions were Maurader faction Points ( 10 to 20 ) at a pop, lame.
I would get a party of 10-15 people, which I frequently do, I would wade through a seething camp of ewoks for a Wookie Rug...hehe unique drops that don't do anything are kewl
A badge, really cool art objects for your house (like the paintings, sculptures, and rugs that we see in other buildings), cool little trinkets (like maybe other styles of holocrons), and crafting components. It would also be nice to have rewards designed in sets so we'd have something cool to collect and trade with each other.
I'd love to see schematic rewards, but I hope at least some of them will be for quests involving difficult, non-combat missions (such as surveying, crafting,or deliveries) so that the crafter-only players can search for the schemson their own without relying on a combat person to get it for them. It would be really cool to eventually have a theme park style series of quests for each crafting profession (that can only be done by members with skills in that profession) which rewards the crafter with new permanent schematics (but they'd lose those schems if they untrained the related profession).
Mini-games. Anything to provide further depth to the game beyond just eye candy or combat assistance.
This doesn't even have to be something like the holo-chess game from the original movie -it could be as simple as a Rubik's Cube or a logic puzzle.
Another consideration might be special cards or posters that give vague hints towards game secrets when examined(such as hidden characters, secret dungeons, locations of a static resource that can only be accessed with this item in inventory). Collect enough of them and you might be able to figureout exactly where these mysteries are - even if you cheat and find out where the hints are leadingthanks to message boards, you still can't access the area/conversation without the item in inventory. Put heads together with people that have finished other dungeons and gotten similar items. Perhaps they just lead to a hidden character that doesn't even give missions, but rather trivia orprofessional suggestions (like a sensei suggesting a different fighting form that changes your fighting animations or provides a secret combo of already existing movesthat doesn't work until you hear it from him/her).
I'd really love to see loot that expands the game lore and mystery rather than serving some kind of economic or combat purpose. I don't spend much time in my house so I don't really care about special decorations or unique looking clothing (I think I look unique enough). I'm all for the loot being fun, but not functional; however, I'd prefer that fun be something I can DO rather than just look at.
I suppose this would be a good time to suggest a blank canvas we can paint our own pictures on. ;D
I've found bec's as loot before but all of them have been worse than my worst one. How about a component for a craftable item. I don't agree with the schematic unless it's for one item only and then disappears, otherwise there is no point and soon everyone will have the uber item.
So IMO either a component for an uber item (can have several components drop on different quests, so that if you only do the one quest you get a semi-uber item, but if you complete five quests you can get all of the uber components and have a totally uber item).
Can be either weapon, armour, or a medical item (in which case you'd need to make it a schematic, because there is no point going to all the trouble of doing the quest to get an item which will last you a day or less)
You can also make krayt-tissue type drops for medical components. I know this exists for combat medics, but haven't seen any for doctors yet, nor heard of any. Considering the enourmous amount of skill points which it takes to become master doc, they deserve the same kind of thing.
-Wookee-size flight suit (we'll get to fly fighters in the SE, right?)
-E-web or shield gen. add-on for a faction base
-scythe
-more war souveneirs
-randomly spawn guarded faction supply depots that can be raided for consumables like wpn powerups, PSGs, grenades, rockets, etc.
-how about a monthly story where an extra faction trooper is the reward...perhaps Imps can get a 'reinforcement' for guarding the Imp prison on Dathomir, while Rebels if they rescue them get a random species trooper (like an Ithorian or Wookieethat can last 3 incaps/DBs before its PCD deletes.)
