Thread: IT 6-6: Imperial Crackdown: Some changes made based on In-Test Feedback

You know you can just stick the contraband into your droids storage compartment, I'm fairly sure they aren't scanned since they are a seperate part from your main inventory all together. It's more like a container which is in your datapad.
I asked for clarification of this point on Page 5. Hopefully a dev will respond.

If someone has picked up enough points to go Rebel then they've obviously decided to take on some Armed conflict right there. As for forced PvP ... What happens when that rebel gets dinged by Covert Scanner when the load at an Imperial City?
To borrow a line my father used to use ..... They made their bed. Now they can sleep in it!

After all, Imperials have a 100% chance to avoid a scan, better than a Master Smuggler. So who's going to need a Master Smuggler to help move anyone's contraband?
This does not bode well for the future of Smugglers, and I am more disappointed today than I have ever been with SWG.
A high ranking Imperialofficer can only benefit himselfduring a scan; he can nothelp people he is grouped with avoid a scan. A smuggler benefitshis/her entire group during crackdowns and shakedowns.
- Stormtrooper armor faction perks available to Imperial faction members will now have 90% resistances to all damage types.
- Stormtrooper armor faction perks will also have HAM encumberances reduced to 15/15/15 per item.
- Imperial Uniforms now added as faction perks. Gray overcoat with rank insignia, dark pants, black boots. Each of these will come with your choice of +25 Injury Treatment/Wount Treatment, or +3 Melee Defense / +14 Defense vs Stun.
Well, you know, Rebels will still buy armor from Armorsmiths, but high-ranking Imps never will again. And, Tailor's and Bio-Engineers will do far less business with Imperials, but the Rebs and Neutrals will still be good outlets for marketing. And that's okay. It's all in the name of the GCW and the Imperial Crackdown.
Telling us that smugglers get to smuggle now, but that Imps, as a function of faction perks, are able to dispense with the need for the service, doesn't reallty float my boat, and it doesn't float the boat of a lot of other Smugglers. Hopefully this can be addressed.

anothe thought for the whiners : dont carry ilegal items if you dont want to be fined , this game is made so if you want to stay away from pvp you can stay neutral , or not carry anything ilegal , i still dont get people that thinks getting killed by a player is such a bad thing , you die , you clone , you dont lose any thing , even insurance (after new patch ) lets say you are not cloned you get some small wounds , big freaking whoo hoo deal !!!! i would be mad pi$#$$ed if they take this awesome feaure away from the game cause of people that cry that dont want to be killed ,
if all you want to do is kill mindles npcs , why in the god good all wisom do you chose to play a mmorpg !!! :@ go play a console ame or a single player game like KOTOR , were there is plenty of content , and lots of npc that berely put any fight so you can press load , or download a cheat and go back to were you was .
for all of you smart people out there , when you kill a storm trooper you get a tef too ! so what are you complaining about wanting to only kill storm troopers without being attacked by players ,
second you dont always get cought , the check ups use a roll , so chances are that if you only carry around a sliced gun or a muon gold you wont be detected , carry a load of ilegal stuff and the chance increases
why do you get into a faction if you dont want to fight i wonder?
yes chances of getting detected should decrese based on rank and never be completely trouble free , and only overt imperials should abort scans
devs , please just do what you think is right and stop getting pushed over by whiners by all sakes , next thing people will ask is that the storm trooper gives you a gentle spank and ask you to go about your buisness
So Imperials will be the Smugglers now. Tell us again why we spent skillpoint on this...

So what we will be seeing is a surge of buying faction points from smugglers then what? All imperials will be high ranking officials. I see this as the rich get richer and poor get poorer.
Well I'm a Rebel and I'm not trying to "Whine" about this....
I will learn to deal with these new restrictions / possible scanning. But I have to ask what is the upside to my present status as a covert Rebel?
I am not a PvP combatant, and I only occasionally run Reb missions, and while I do welcome the new sense of jeopardy this will bring to the game for us, I have to ask what is my advantage? Just stop using sliced/spiced stuff or risk a TEF at the whim of the Empire?
Not sure what advantage I have in being a Reb in light of this new game element? Oh well, just thinking out loud.
I guess I am happy with this as it will make it a bit more starwarsy, just wish there was some reasonable off set for those of us in the Rebellion to take advantage of.

You can avoid imperial cities, you can't avoid "wilderness" scans. There is a difference.
I'm going to be laughing pretty hard when in Publish 8, "Rebel Resurgence", the same imperials who are praising this patch are /crying in their Jawa Beer, lol
