If it is your groups kill then no one other then the designated people in the group can loot.
Any chance you could clarify how the system determines looting rights and if this is going to change or remain the same?
At present, if my understanding is correct, looting rights are given to the group (or individual) containing the individual who does the most damage (let's not get into whether it counts the damage as before or after target's resistance is taken into account as I haven't a clue!).
Is this correct?
Will this remain the same?
A different system could be a body blow for loot camping and kill stealing... I know others have asked about this but sometimes volume counts right?

All sounds great , I will be intrested to see how the Random loot works. It's the fairest way but you don't want to have a lot of boxies opening if your fighting for your life.
But will stop the loot stealers in a group, and that should see a much better way of fighting at the moment if your using a ranged wepon all the Tanks get a chance to loot long befor you even get there.
Can't wait to try this new system, good work.

- No. The only method that would even seem to allow this is lottery, but lottery requires you to be within 20 meters of the kill, otherwise your lottery window auto-closes and you’re marked as having passed on the item.
Oh well... so riflemen etc ranged combat professionals should stand way closer than their optimum damage range, to be in this lottery!?
Why that restriction? Imagine a master rifleman and a non-master swordsman, for instance. Who does the most damage? Well, as a master it is not very critical to be at optimal range.. but it sure makes you feel more like a rifleman.

Sounds cool that you can actually set someone to be the Master Looter, we already try to go with that when we're out on cityhunts but this will make it easier.
However there is still a big problem with looting and killstealers.
We're sometimes doing kraythunts with our city. Everyone is free to come and we use the loot to make weapons and such for people who joined the hunt. We can spend 30 min - 1 hour to just find a dragon and when we start beating it, there is a dude with a rifle coming. Speedcaped and happy that we're tanking for him he just uses his ultimate attack and we have no chance of outdamageing him although our group together more than certain do. He killsteals the dragon, picks up the loot and continues to follow us (I mean hey! Why leave a good tank when you got one?)
At this point there is meaning for us to be out hunting anymore, we wont get anything out of it but the frustration of his killsteals. A nice evening and cityhunt destroyed by one man.
Is it going to be possible to be a solo killstealer or is there a chance that the groups total damage should count in instead on who's going to get the looting rights?
If these new grouplooting changes are coming in there is way for the group to decide who should loot, which would make it easier for them to give everyone a fair deal. I see no point in hunting dragons or other high level mobs in the wild as long as there is professional hunters that will steal the kill in front of your group, it's just to disapointing.

I sorry to say it, but two of them sound like horrible ideas. The "master looter" is horrible. I mean, looting is just going to stay the same as it is now, but instead the group leader will get all the loot instead of another member. The free-for-all is horrible too, even though that's what we already have.
I still say everyone in the group should automatically get atleast one item of loot if they're within a certain range of the corpse. Anything left on the corpse is up for grabs by whoever takes it.
But everyone in a group should have a good chance of getting something. Not just the group leader or "master looter".
This is really disappointing. Another one of the many reasons I never group up other then for solo groups.
Master loot system isn't always a bad thing.... take the following example, my guild is sponsoring a treasure fund raising hunt for the City we live in, we go and hunt, all proceeds goto the town, this way the loot can be gathered easily and sold making more money for the treasury. And removes the odd player getting greedy. if we loot something very valuable then no need to worry about the treasury for a while
less donations. good all round.
As for the changes, good job on all counts, can't wait for patch 13

Totally agree. System is perfect as far as I am concered. Are people concerned about Leader setting themselves as master looter or something? It tells people when changes are made and has a symbol showing who is looter! Seems like yet another time the whining voices of few have drowned out the humble voices of us many.

The only thing I can think of is that you arn't eligeble for the lottery if you arn't within 20m. So it screws riflemen and other long range classes.
Other than that, it looked like it was very good. I hope Tiggs can post a quick one stating what will be re-implemented so that we have a better idea on whats going on.
Please Tiggs?
