What about distance from the kill? (Are you going to be teleporting rug threads 9km across solo groups?)

Can I group with a hunting party, not actually go into the field to fight, get designated as Master Looter, and just sit back home next to a vendor or bazaar or in a storage house, and pick through and save/sell/delete loot as it comes in, while my team just fights full time?
- No. The only method that would even seem to allow this is lottery, but lottery requires you to be within 20 meters of the kill, otherwise your lottery window auto-closes and you’re marked as having passed on the item.

- Uh…no. See answer to number one.
There is something about this reply that I don't understand. You say that only the lottery "would even seem" to allow distant loot depositing. But surely the designated Master Looter would also seem to offer that opportunity. What happens if the Master Looter is somewhere else?
You've explicitly said that the lottery recipients need to be 20m from the kill. Does the Master Looter also need to be within 20m of the kill? If so, what happens to the loot if the Master Looter is farther away? Does it vanish?
It's a combination of loot settings and loot permissions.
Free for all: All members have permission to loot the corpse, and whoever loots first gets the item in their inventory.
Lottery: All members of the group have permission to loot the corpse. Once someone does, the lottery interface pops up, players choose whether they want it or not, and a random person is picked. The item goes into that person's inventory. Since this may or may not be the person who did the /loot, this could lead to an item "teleporting" across a distance. And I agree that 20m is too short, 100-164m would be better. I suppose groups could try just holding off looting until the mobs are all killed then gather around, but this isn't always feasible when fighting larger groups, or in a location where you want to move on quickly, like DWB or Corvette.
Master Looter: From the link,
"[the Master Looter] is the only one who has looting permissions on the creatures that the group kills."
So only the designated looter can loot corpses killed by that group, andwhen they do, loot goes into his/her inventory. Other group members will probably get something like "you do not have permission to loot that target" if they try to loot the body. If the ML isn't with the group, he/she is not looting, and the group can't loot the mobs they killed. At this point, the group may want to pick a new ML (or re-group if the ML is also the group leader).

- By default the loot master changes back to the group leader.

20m seems way to restrictive. MOBs can spawns before you even get to the corpse if you shot it from 60m away. Chances are two grouped people will run to two corpses over 20m away. What if you want a designated looter to hit the corpses, but don't want to deal with the hassle of arguing for items (the point of the lottery)? Any ranged players are likely to be too far away.

Hello Folks!
It has certainly been a Wacky Wednesday! As if you didn't have enough to read already I am going to toss one more thing at you today. Back in November a focus thread was created asking your opinions for group looting and how it should work. Based upon your feedback we have incorporated some of these changes and you should see them on Test Center in the near future.

20 meters as mentioned is to limited. My suggestion is everyone grouped gets the item on the corpse. Yourgamestill penalizing grouping. Who cares if there are more pearls and AA's and CA's in circulation? Just my thoughts. I am still better off soloing creatures. I do not see any harm except with loot vendors complaining about "rarity". I thought this game was geared towards the crafting community and it wouldn't be a loot based game?
Just my thoughts to encourage grouping and team play is to reward everyone who participates. Not just 1 player.
