The question is, howdo you make it hard to get, and rare, without making it so that you have to be a member of an uber guild/group to get it?

Seems to me that many people are locked out of the Geonosian Bunker loot because the place is camped 24/7 by uber guilds.

Shug, I really really enjoyed your JF: Open Seasons mini-series, though I would hate to see the DeathWatch variant of the armor be the next Joe Composite. Maybe give it out [like Wookiee LifeDay robes] to those who RP Mandalorians.

For some reason I have trouble seeing the Empire or even the Rebellion fighting their war in this stuff. This would make a better draw for fighting in a 3rd mercenary/Hutt faction.

No camping solution: Make the dungeon instanced like the Corvette. Problem solved.

If the armor was:

1. Wearable by MBH only

2. Arms/Legs craftable, Chest/Helmet loot items

3. EXTREMELY difficult spawns

You would see very little people running around with the suit on. Players would have full sets in their PA halls alongside their Stormie armor, but that's it.

I'm a MBH as well as a Jedi, and I have many good friends with various professions in this game. I understand the passion of many who link Mandalorian Armor to the Fett's, but the reality is that anyone should have access to this rare item. Just because a couple of notorious BHs used it should not limit it from other Master Elite's (Pistoleers, Carbiners, Swordsmen, etc).

If there is going to be some class specific items in game for armor, I'd like to see a rare (by implementation) option for cortosis weave armor for MBHs to quest for (just as an example). But then again, it is hard to envision limiting things simply by class in an open(and more realistic) player driven economy. Don't you think with the resources that folks like Jabba or Vaderhave, they would place some Mandalorian armor on display in their personal museums if they desired it enough, or even get is modified to fit them? What would have stopped them from doing it? They had the personnel and capital resources to do it if they wished. It certainly was not limited to them because they were not Bounty Hunters by profession.

At the end of the day, games such as SWG have a hard fence to ride with regard to maintaining a level of continuity ~ adaptation and delivering the impactfull and thrilling excitement to a personal level for each member of the community. By extending the basis from the films into "further fictional" twists and side stories to produce thesetting for players to get the personal opportunity to be a Jedi or wear Mandalorian armor, they satisfy a large desire from the population. Furthermore, it is obvious that they are working tightly with the folks at Lucas for guidance and approval as they extend this setting's flexibility to go beyond the assumed facts as they are presented from the films and books. Creative lattitude and flexibility on our part is needed to receive this in good faith. Afterall, it took the same level of freedom and creativity to extend the films into books in the first place.

not that my opinion matters but a) it the pieces should be dropped but also be availabe as a schematic, having the schematic pieces be far superior to the dropped pieces b) not restrict armor based on class, if you were going to base it off of class then melee fighters as well as pistoleers and carbineers would be the only ones to wear it due to the fact that mandalorians existed during the time of the clone wars, but they were primarily melee fighters, and not the bounty hunting god Boba Fett is "today"

Hopefully if since they are planning on making it a schem it actually depicts the armor and they don t mess it up like RIS

If u read atleast a little bit of dark horse comics you can find out that mandalorians are an elite group of super soldiers (efficient inALL armed and unarmed combat), some just made the choice to go into bountyhunting because it was more profitable. So there should be no problem with mandalorian armor being worn by any combat profession. And for the people who doubt melee how do you think two mandalorians who dueled ended up fighting with? They ended up trying to stab each other and such in the joints of the armor because they found it useless to actually shoot guns at each other because it wouldnt even dent there armor.

Also for the people that are against any wielders of the force having armor to this degree, what material do you think Vaders armor is made out of.

So happythe armor is on it's way!

If you think some TK Master or some Fencer is gonna walk around in my armor, you're crazy. For pete's sake, the icon for BH missions in the game is a Mandalorian Helmet! Plus, the only guys to wear it in the film were Bounty Hunters (and we all know that the films are all that matter). People should pick a profession and stay with it. If the armor means that much to you, it won't be a big deal to become the profession that uses it.

You want to wear the armor? Better start up those Marksman and Scout skills now...

If the Mandalorians are basically wiped out and it takes a crafter to make their armor, can you really call it "Mandalorian armor"? Seems to me that Mandalorian armor has to have been made by a Mandalorian.

No matter how closely I replicate the method ancient Egyptians used to make pottery, nobody's going to stick my stuff in a museum.

As for who can wear it, how about just limiting it to people who have been a master of an elite combat class for at least 3 months? Possibly even longer than that, to drop the numbers. There are currently zero rewards for sticking with a profession after you master it, and a considerable reward for grinding your way through a bunch without knowing the slightest bit about them. Give the non-hologrinders some reward for actually bothering to play their class.

As a Master BH who from the start of the game who was only ever wanted this armor more than a Jedi, I will be heart broken if I see everyone walking around in it. I too agree this armor should be BH and Commando only. But I do hope it is hard to build, but not impossible like RIS is. One or two rare loot drops would be fine.

when the drop is a schematic I suppose it's only got a few uses in it like the ones you get from ex. Emporer's Retreat. If you go find a schematic for the armor I dont think it would be a problem to find an armorsmith that could craft it for you and then just keep the rest of the schematic. 1 set of armor for you and 1 set of armor for the craft! wont have costed you a penny and you get your armor! By making the loot a schematic and not an uber loot you also insure that the outcome of armor can variate so all with Mandalorian Armor don't run around with exacly the same protection......

....and could some of you try to say some possitive things when the DEVs add new stuff to the game or inform you of something!!!

I went to the official starwars website in search of Info on the Mandalorians, with thehope of determining whether the new Mandalorian armor should be "BH only". I found this passage in the section on Jango Fett:

Jangowas orphaned at an early age, the son of simple Concord Dawn farmers killed by brutal marauders. At the age of ten, he was picked up by Journeyman Protector Jaster Mereel, who introduced Fett to a harsh world of mercenary life. He was raised among great warriors, learning to survive in the rugged frontiers. Though the Mandalorian supercommandos were wiped out by the Jedi Knights, Jango was one of the few left to still wear the armor.

Presumably the Mandalorian Supercommandos wore Mandalorian Armor, thus Commandos should have access to the armor. I found this passage in the section on Boba Fett.

Fett dresses in fearsome armor of Mandalorian design. The battle-scarred suit's design heritage can be traced back 4,000 years, when clans of Mandalores fought against the Jedi during the Great Sith War.

I think it is reasonable to assume that the clans of Mandalores included more warriors than justBounty Hunters and Commandos. Thus I think any elite combat profession should theoretically be able to wear the Armor.

Also the armor wasa weapon, actually several weapons according the official site:

Boba Fett's armor, like his father's, is a battered weapon-covered spacesuit equipped with a rocketpack. His gauntlets contain a flamethrower, and a whipcord lanyard launcher. His kneepads conceal rocket dart launchers.

Perhaps the armor should have a certification necessary, as do weapons, but I have no idea what sort of coding this would involve. Also, even if people don't have the certification for a weapon, they can still carry it around. So, in short, I don't know.

It seems that there are 2 Concerns: Keeping the Armor Rare/Out of the "Wrong" Hands, and making it craftable. I think the Devs should make some sort of Quest that can only be undertaken by those classes that are supposed to get the Armor, and have some of the components necessary to make the armor given as the reward for the quest. Of course there is no way to guarantee that once the armor gets in the hands of a BH or Commando that it will remain in those hands. Someone could sell the armor, or give it away when they are leaving the game. Unfortunately, I suspect the best/only solution is to make the Mandalorian Armor like the RIS, craftable only with uber rare components. Well, I hope I have contributed something of use.

Ok here is my 2 cents on what everyone ahs said.

having beena former MBH I don't think that just the Bounty Hutners should get this. As so amny people have said the mandalorian people were not jsut bounty hunters. They were elite fighters. I think all the fighting classes should be able to wear mandalorian armor. I don not think smugglers should be able to wear it cause they aren't true fighters by themselves.

Now as far as making it craftable. 1 if it is going to be craftable don't make it like RIS armor. CUrrently I have been now for over 1 month trying to get Giant Dune Kimo scales to give to mY PA armorsmith or my good friend Zyrcis Wulf from Caln Wulf to get an RIS helemt made. I'm up to 225 Giant DUne Kimo's killed and I have not looted 1 of these scales yet. It is freaking ridiculous. My friend zyrcis added it up and in order to make 1 suit of RIS and buy all the rare ingredients it would cost somewhere in teh ballpark of 80 million credits. The player economy is all thrown to hell and back. I'm all about making the schematic drop rare or this stuff but youknow what if I get teh schematic I want to be able to get the armor crafted. So if you make it so it is a schematic make it so you can get it crafted. Heck make the components needed easy to get so the few players that get the scheamtic can get it crafted np but make the dropp happen randomly like 1x per month or something. Similiar to how rare the genosain pistol scheamtic drops even with all teh camping etc. I have never seen one for sale on the Starisder Trade forum and I only know of 6 weaponsmiths who have ever found the schematic

Now I am in favor of this being an extreme drop. But if you do it this make make sure you do it right not off of something that can be solo'd. I'm one of those players who has solo'd jsut about everything ingame at some point in time and would be very sad to see this get this spawn solo camped.

Finally I hope you make this dungeon like you were talking about that whatever group goes in together has the entire dungeon to themselves I don't want this ti tunr into a spawn camping fest.

I had several goals when I got this game and I have acheived most of them but my #1 goal was to obtain a set of Mandalorian Armor anyway possible in this game. I greatly hope it is a hard challenge to do but Ihope I achieve this goal
