Here is some food for thought....

I have seen that SOE is planning on giving veteran players a free luxury yacht when Jump to lightspeed is released. I like this idea and it shows that they are thinking about their veteran players, but I disagree with their definition of veteran player. To me, a veteran player is not one who has been playing for the last six months. My definition of a veteran player is someone who has been playing for a year upon the release of Jump to Lightspeed.

I am interested in seeing what other people think.....

An idea I just had. Its probably one I'll never benefit from, but it might be cool.

Right now, there are veteran rewards tied with JTL. From the wording of the article, it is the first, hopefully of many. Well, it might be fun if you tied in a JTL reward with becoming a Jedi. Maybe, once you become a Jedi, you gain access to either a Sith Infiltrator (for Dark Jedi), or a Jedi Starfighter...perhaps the variant that Anakin flew during the Clone Wars series...that had an internal Hyperdrive. The external hyperdrive system on Obi Wan's JSF was a bit...lame. The ship looked cool, but the hyperdrive had a lot of flaws. Or, as an alternative to the Sith Infiltrator, how about Darth Vader's TIE? It'd just give people a bit of a boost for becoming a Jedi. The ships wouldn't have to be remarkable. From the sound of it, Jedi are gonna get powers in space (which I personally don't agree with, but its not up to me), so they won't need amazing ships. It'd just give all of us regular Starfighter pilots a bit of a warning when a Jedi is coming. Imagine how you'd feel if you suddenly came upon a squadron of Jedi Starfighters. It'd be a real "Oh, frell" moment.

Also, another cool thing that could be for potential future addition, as part of a quest, would be Clone Trooper armour. I personally think that Clone Trooper armour looks cooler than Stormie armour. It'd be the same armour fundementally, but it would be availiable to all, perhaps via a quest. Maybe, if Kamino ever ended up as a planet, you could do quests for the Kamino people, and get Clone Trooper armour as a reward. You could maybe set the colour to mimic the ranks (Yellow = Commander, Red = Captain, Blue = Lieutenant, Green = Sergeant, White = Private), or to mimic your personal preference. Or, if you wanted something a little more advanced, there's also ARC Trooper armour, which is a slightly Bounty Huntered-out version. Myself, and a lot of people I know feel that the whole Clone Trooper era was far cooler. If you ever made atmospheric craft availiable to people, the Republic Gunship would make an excellent addition to any Guild's arsenal. The rifles are cool, but similar to the T21. Perhaps they could be offered as an alternative to the T21, that did a different kind of damage. Maybe. Just a thought.

Oh, and I would also like to see Naboo Starfighters, the Naboo Cruiser, and whatever they described Senator Amidala's ship as in Ep2. Seeing as Naboo is an existing planet, it seems fitting that their ships should be there. I believe that Silver is a colour reserved for the queen, and her officials. However, perhaps with enough "Naboo Faction Points" (or is it townsperson you gain?), you could get access to new kinds of ship. Same could possibly apply to things on Geonosis, such as the fighters that flew escort for Count Dooku.

These are just my little ponderances. They might be fun...a lot of work, probably, but still fun.

I say leave the mind totally to the entertainers. I see your reasoning for this, but I still think it would be bad to take more away from the entertainers. I would even like to see buff times reduced. Maybe now that entertainers have droids they will be willing to actually go out on some missions. With lower buff times people will want to bring doctors with them. Right now there is too much solo'ing. All people do is get buffed, put on their composite, take some missions and go hunting for 3 hours. Nobody needs to group anymore except for some of the new tough theme parks. I don't think this is what the dev's intended.

Bothan species bonuses... Never getattention regarding changebecause there are so few of us compared to other species.

They are really quite useless, +15 camoflauge, +10 cover. Camo is only good for rangers, cover only good for rifleman, and ranger is a pretty usefless proff anyways.Other species like trandoshen, twileck and zabrack have much more useful bonuses, and stats. Twi lecks even have that lekku language, why don't we have something similar with bothan's fur?

As for skill bonuses, give us something perhaps that benefits ranged combat, a foil to the melee bonuses of trandoshens. Please give us something useful.

Why arent there any Nerfs in the game? Fuzzy herd animals? I have seen them in the RTS star wars games. Leia called Han a scruffy looking Nerf-herder in ESB.

So where are the nerfs and why cant we herd them?

how about simple AI for droids/pets? Let our R2 run around the house and scare the cat or durni?

As a former CH id like to have a place i could put my old pets that i cant use so i could still see them.

I have a couple suggestions that may seem to intrest a few people.

1) how about a sound system that people can put in there shops that plays background music. I have noticed that in some guild halls in major cities that have background music. I think it would be a neat idea and the people would be able to choose the "starwars" music that would play in their shop. it would add too shops and the artisan types would love it.

2) In my personal opinion I think that entertainers should only be able to perform in designated spots. Yes they can entertain in the cantina but how about move it all the way into the cantina, as most of you know if you go to the front door of the cantina in Coronet you are greated with an incredible amount of AFK spam dogs. push them back into the cantina and away from the doorway...com'on Devs you guys designed a pretty nice looking cantina, wouldn't it be great if it was actually seen and useful.

3) also along the same lines as the above....spam filters mate. I know that Cnet is the hub for business and well everything in SWG but the spam must stop. implement a system that if someone says the same thing more then 4 times in one minute they get timed out and cannot type anything for 2-3 min. this is not an unreasonable request, it helps cut down on lag and actually makes it easier to read what people are saying...sometimes you can't even read their spatial because of the spam attacks. some people say just ignore the people but....I pay to play this game not to spend my time running through lag village and typing "ignore lag dog". Also like mentioned in the above post...designated areas are a great thing. spead the people out. designate areas inside the city for different things like buffs and such...once outside city limits they can do that anywhere.

WE NEED MORE SKILL POINTS!!

Even though we can master 3 professions with the 250 skill point limit we can not have a varity of professions. I'm trying to be a master ch, Master bh and partial medic but cant master one of the 2 because of what each profession requires. I think we need at least 50 more skill points in order to have better profession combos.

H'chu apenkee! ("Greetings!" in Huttese)

I hate to say this if this has been already said, thought of, shot down, and buried, but I feel I need to say it again.

I greatly think that more of the smaller caves need to be instanced. Also, I think that the inside of places like the Woolamander Palace and the Temple of the Blueleaf need to be instanced also. Over half the time I make a 3 or 5 kilometer journey to get out to these places, they have been cleaned out in the last 10 minutes by someone else. I think a great way to do this was to make it not even noticeable by the players (if this is possible) What I would suggest is just having a system by where when you enter the cave, you get a new instance for your group. You can then go through it as usual, but it will NOT respawn, instances will not respawn, you just get a new instance. This would put a stopper also on people who AFK-macro these places. If you do not want players being able to enter, clean out, exit, get a new instance, and then clean that one out over and over, you could implement a system where the player will not get a new instance until at least 30 minutes after the old one has been created. When they player tries to enter and gain a new instance before that time is up, he will just enter his old, used instance. This way you can also save on data space (if this is a problem) by deleting each instance once the 30 minutes are up and the player (or group) has left.

If you cannot implement an invisible system, then you may also want to consider putting a small terminal of some kind outside of the cave or temple, or by making a menu that will come up when you attempt to enter the cave. This menu would have options, such as creating a new instance for yourself, which would then be assigned a number. This number you can give to group members or friends, so that they could type that in and then join you in your instance.

In my opinion, this system, if implemented, would not mess up my enjoyment of the game so much as to counterbalance the enjoyment of actually being able to take out a cave by myself (something I have yet been able to do because of other players). If you could please consider this idea, I would be forever greatful, especially if you could actually implement it at some later date.

Thank you, and may the Force be with you!

AUCTION IDEA: ELIMINATE BAZAAR PRICE LIMIT AND DO AWAY WITH TRADE FORUMS.

Currently the bazaar only allows auctions/sales to be a maximum of 6000 credits. This forces people to use message boards to auction things off. Not only is this highly inconvenient, causes shady business deals, and is disadvantageous to many players, it is totally unnecessary. Why have these boards when there is a clearly superior system already in the game? Eliminate the price limit on bazaar auctions, get rid of the trade forums, and allow players to buy and bid on the bazaar, and receive their item easily when the auction ends, in addtion to being able to preview the auction like the bazaar allows. You say, "But what about the merchant profession?" This wouldn't affect them at all, as these sales are already going on, and there is a limit on bazaar sales that each player can do. Though I don't like the limit, I would even be willing to lower the item limit per player if the amount limit was abolished. This would allow for an excellent in-game auction system that would be fair, convenient, and clear for everyone.

Create a seperateslider for thecombat music. Currently the background music and combat music are intertwined. I dont want the combat music blaring everytime Im in combat, but I do want to hear "mood" music as Im adventuring.

I would like to see you at least double the number of songs available to musicians, the number of dances for dancers, and the number of flourishes for each song/dance.

(I'll stick to the musician example from now on, but the same is true for dancers)

This game has been going for a year now, and we are still using the same ten songs we had at launch, and frankly we are sick of them by now. We had some half-hearted promises about maybe getting new songs sometime in an unspecified future, but those promises were never kept. The one major piece of new content that maybe ('cause you never told us any specifics about it, maybe so you wouldn't made have any more promises you might be expected to keep?) will bring us one new song, the Hutt Casino, has been postponed until after JTL, and I for one would be quite surprised if that ever came out at all.

Masters should not be able to only play 9 (10 if they are also Master Entertainers) songs ever. This so-called "social" playstyle has been ignored since the game came out, and especially in the last half year or so we have been shown repeatedly by the Devs that we just aren't anywhere on their list of things to fix (and pleeaaseee nobody mention the new droids here...), and we really would need some Dev attention just about now. The least you could do is fix the damage you did to us by encouraging holo-grinders, and you could start on that road by giving us new songs.

Thanks.

Would be nice if a scene could be added in each canteena on which entertainer are supposed to perform. If they are not on it they should not be able to heal BF and recieve healing exp in the canteena.

The only things the entertainers should be allowed outside the bigscene should be buffing. That should take care about the collection of afk grinding entertainers close to front door, in the major canteena on each planet, that blocks the way into the canteena. This could be done by adding maybe a smaller scene in one of the back alcoves where we, who have master of musicians or dancers, can buff people without stealing exp from those that are trying to learn the profession (Hate it when a master take up shop right inside the door to canteena. We dont need the exp anymore, so whyruin it for the other?).

As it is now it is no wonder that they stand in fron of front door though, since there is no designated place to perform in the canteenas. So everybody stand as close to the door as possible to get as much exp as possible.

Thx for you comment

I was not suggesting taking anything away from entertainers. They should remain as the only professions able to heal BF/mind wound and buff mind. My proposal is to add the ability to stim mind in combat in the same manner as action and health, making all three pools just as important.

Just which professions recieve this new stim mind ability is a matter that could require some discussion. I see your point that adding such a new ability to the entertainer professions would be good for getting the entertainers out into the field and that is something we all want.

The problem with this though it would not completly balance the pools in combat and again set mind as a special target. The potential forstims to themind pool in a group of players should be exactly the same as action and health.

I think think that overall game balancing should be the most important factor and such a ability should be given to the medical professions if it is introduced.

I may be wrong, but as I see it the number of CMs/Docs/Medics is also larger then the number of Ents/Dancers/Mucisians. Adding such and ability might increase entertainer numbers but having equal stim potential for Action, Health and Mind will not be achieved.

As long as HAM importance is unbalanced, all professions in the game suffer.
