The Dev's already messed this up, they could atleast come out like the God's they are suppose to be of this SWG world and face there public to try and help. they would earn abit more respect that way. Complete Avoidience = MORE FLAMING!! If they don't understand that then we need new Devs

Just on a little side note, I am more excited that I finally made Veteran in the forums then getting a glowy in the game cause I will be more active editing me typos in here then waiting for a **edit**ing old man in the game!

Look. What is so hard to understand about having people line up to take their turns at the Village? Why is there such outrage amongst you impatient children? Don't you understand that 100,000+ can't possibly descend upon Dathomir all at once? It is physically impossible for the servers to take that kind of load. They've set up a line in the most fair way possible, yet you still whine, and cry, and whine some more. Think about it, what would happen if they allowed 100,000+ people to all cram into a theater that only holds 1000 at the Episode 3 Premiere?

There are not 100,000+ people on any one server. It has been mooted before the limit is 6000, and there would never be that many on at any one time anyway, even with P10.

You also say there's NO communication between the Devs and the community? Now I KNOW you're an idiot. What the heck do you think this whole thread was started on? What the heck do you think Thunderheart has been doing answering questions within this thread? There was A LOT of communication going on. Thunderheart communicated A LOT about what was going on in the initial post. In one post, TH dispelled all the rumors circulating around the Village. Think about it, if he didn't tell us how they separated people into lines to get into the Village, there would be idiotic rumors, conspiracy theories, etc., about why only a segment of the population were being visited.

You're only partially right - he could also have let eeryone know what the system was some time ago - they would have easily saved themselves this amount of irritation. People were under the impression today they'd be able to logon and begin their FS quests. They were mistaken. They're now rightly disappointed.

The disappointment will pass - but it could have been saved if all along it had been known that entry to the village was gated.

CivilCH. Your guide is incorrect on the second link. If you completed 4 holo professions, you may still have 4 more to go and have only 2 branches granted.

Rifleman/CH
Former Master Medic, Carbineer, Doctor, Artisan, Armorsmith, Combat Medic, Marksman, Brawler, Scout, Entertainer, Swordsman, TKA, Bio Engineer
Rebel Colonel
Completed Rebel Theme Park, Light Jedi Missions, Jabba's Palace, Warren, Nyms, all NPC missions on Corellia, Talus, and Yavin
Sunrunner - Azak City, Talus (Usually on Dantooine or Talus)

I'm not really mad about the extra wait. Yeah it's dissapointing. But if they let us all rush the place at once, the server would probably melt down.
What bothers me is them changing it from needing one silent profession to 4 silent professions, without ever telling us. We all kept slaving away like total idiots, having no idea that we had little to no chance of unlocking everytime we finished a new profession.
I got my silent holo after my 6th master, and every master after that I had high hopes of it being the one, because I had no idea they changed it to 4 silents. 16 masters after my silent later I still sit here without having unlocked my slot.
Would I of gone through the hell I did to get those 22 masters if I had known of this 4 silent profession deal? Most likely not. Most likely I would of left the game, because striving for a jedi is the only form of content I have been able to find in this game.
I don't want to be a drama queen here, but it's really dissapointing that they deliberately misled us all for so long about this. The carrot was dnagled in front of our face early on, as we watched many players unlock in less than 10 masters in many cases, and in a lot of cases less than 15. Little did we know our chances of doing the same were about the same as John Kerry actually sticking to one side of an issue.
Am I mad or dissapointed enough to quit the game entirely? Nah, I don't think so. I do like this game and think there are a lot of great things that will happen in the future. Once they clean up this mess, I really hope they do something about pvp. PVP was a blast in the first few months of this game's release. There were massive battles everywhere, and most seemed to enjoy it. Doctor buffs and a few out of ctrol professions ahve ruined that for me, and obviously alot more people because you just don't see the pvp action we had last summer. Not even close.

I agree with that man the lie hurt more then anything else, even after they said they arnt changing the old system at all or even tweaking it.

They never even said that it would take 5 random professions. They've always kept theunlocking method a secret, even when it became evident that the playerbase pieced the mystery together on themselves. So what makes you think that they should've told you it was bumped to 8? Even the new Badge Method is a "secret". Didn't you notice that TH didn't even mention Badges in his initial post?

Be grateful that they even allowed the people on Test Center know that Badges were the method to unlock "The Village". They could've easily done internal testing to keep the Badge thing a secret.

I don't know what's going on. .. I worked for Jedi for around 6 months, did my 4 holos, and was chasing the silent holo (got up to 20 profs) .. the pursuit of Jedi was what kept me playing.

When I logged on this morning, I get "You feel an inner glow. The Force is with you", but unfortunately the old man is not with me.

Now I read that the holo requirement was secretly raised to 8 and that people are going to be getting into the village in stages based on their holo progressions, but I have no idea where that leaves me.

As I completed my 4 holos and have the glow, am I immediately eligible? .. or because the the requirement was raised to 8, might I be in Group 4 and have to wait an indeterminate length of time before the old man shows up?

This system is worse than hologrinding. .. At least then, I knew that 32 professions would give you jedi.

Now I have nothing to work towards, it's all been taken out of my hands. Where's my motivation to continue playing, in the knowledge that I may not "be eligible" for jedi for a day ..a week .. a month .. or even a year?

I just want some clarification, is all.

YOU DON'T **edit**ING GET IT DO YOU! THEY SAID THE NEW SYSTEM WOULD NOT HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING THAT INVOLVED GRINDING. I BELIEVE THAT for the Grinders that did unlock they should already have there jedi. No point for the quest for them cause they deserve to havethere jedi after grinding for so many hours wasting so much of the precious and important time to this game. But the wait is Pure BULLSHYT. I am not going to wait several weeks not to mention months for all the other people. WE WERE LIED TOO. Simple as that. The Devs dropped the ball. So don't personally attack me when more the 1/2 the forum would agree with me!

Denezib Wrote:

They have ALWAYS said that there would be equitable compensation for the people who were hologrinding, ... and the system they set up IS FAIR! The free branch unlocks adequately rewards the people for grinding the professions, or have you forgotten that A LOT of people hologrinded even before it was announced that the system to unlock would change. It wouldn't be fair to give those people the shaft just so YOU could feel better about yourself for being a little further behind them in the race to get a Jedi slot.

D-TechNYC wrote:

We aren't really mad about the wait in full *Or atleast not me*
Mst of us are mad at the simple fact that the Devs have been holding alot of information from us as well as posting iinformation OF FALSE HOPE making us think differently from what actually is going on. If I would have known that grinding will get sooner acceptence in the village I am sure that me as well as other people would have continued to grind abit more. Probably not so virgiously but grinding acouple of professions atleast INSTEAD OF COMPLETELY droping the grind considering the fact that most of us thought that grinders wouldn't be rewarded in such a way like they are now which make all of the non grinders wait for days or weeks or even weeks from the way it looks now! ITs just annoying! All this waiting is a conspiracy to get more money from us! hehe

TH I have a question for you, what about the people that already unlocked do they automatically qualitfy or should they be waiting like the other groups.

You automatically qualify. Hang out in the wilderness and you will be visited in a short period of time. The old man will visit you in the wilderness and send you on a quest.

I am not sure if you have answered this previously, but I am a bit confused with all the changes. I have my main character who unlocked my 2nd FS character before publish 9 came in. My understanding was, my main character that went through the profession grind would automatically be FS when publish 10 came in. However, having used the /check command, it tells me the 'surge in the force' message - which I am told is NOT to the Force Sensitive level (and thus, not going to be seen by the Old Man at this point). Is this a bug, a change in plans, or was I simply mistaken about how publish 10 was going to work?

PS - I find this kind of funny too... but my Jedi, who is a Padawan with only 2 novice boxes and 1 Lightsaber box, when using /check gives me the message 'you feel a slight connection to the force' (or something along those lines). So once our Jedi characters hit Padawan, we can't go back and do the village? I unlocked the day before pub 9 came in (wheeee!) and have intentionally held off on power leveling so I could do the Quests. Or is it too late for anyone of Padawan rank to do these quests?

How could it be "secretly" raised to 8, when it wasn't even publically announced that it was initially 5?

You think that this system is worse than hologrinding because you "know" that completing 32 professions will give you a slot? NONSENSE! In this system, you know that you only have to complete 6 quests based on your own personal interests, and then you get to actually play the game doing what you like to do to gain XP that goes towards those quests.

This new system is a squillion times better than the old system. It's a better experience to grind something that you like to do, and it's better for the economy since people will be doing what they like to do.
