Get over yourself and look at the big picture. Being an ignorant jerk isn't helping matters.
In the first place, jedi should not be the endgame since it does not fit in the timeline. Jedi should be for the few and only the few. That aside, Bacon got a point. Entire trees in many professions are bugged or simply 'missing'. Take the Underworld and master box in Smugler. The underworld tree is devoid of anything usefull. The same goes for the master box. Yeah it grants some small benefits but they are not even listed in the description in ctrl S.
All Bacon and I are saying (in so many colorfull words

Dude, you DO realize that about 90% of the playerbase is trying to become a Jedi? It's the end-game, it's something just about everybody wants to do. Fixing Jedi effects EVERYBODY.
Get over yourself and look at the big picture. Being an ignorant jerk isn't helping matters.
90% of the playerbase?!?! And where did you pull those stats from. I have over 300 friends on my buddy list that remain active. 5 of them are holo grinders. You are trying to tell me that there desperate "fix" to the Jedi system is good for everyone.
For once I want to hear, "We royally screwed up the Jedi system and would like to fix it for those who wasted countless hours grinding random profs going half insane".
You think they don't owe us? Make this same game and put it in a different theme. It wouldn't last 5 months. People tolerate and continue to play this game ONLY because it is Star Wars and some silly dream that MAYBE someday this game will actually be good.
Devs if you really think you have that much content then why in the world are SOOOO many people soooo unhappy with their STILL broken professions (smugglers, de's, etc.)
Although the fix is appreciate, for most of us it is too little too late.
I admit, the 90% is a bit exaggeration. I'll lower that to 80%. On my friends list, which I'd imagine is just as accurate as yours, I have about 5 people NOT hologrinding. And if they aren't hologrinding, they are thinking about it or just mastering professions in hopes that one day they will unlock their FSCS. Heck, I've even started hologrinding, even though I stated 3 months ago that I'd never do it because it was stupid. Sooner or later, the vast majority of players are going to get bored with their professions, and want to be a Jedi.
And yes, there are still broken professions. But fixing Jedi makes the game SO much more appealing to new comers than if they fixed smuggler or BH. And don't sit here and tell me that the devs are ignoring everybody... they just totaly re-did Chef, arguably the most broken profession in the game. What do you want them to do, fix every single class in one giant publish?? Not going to happen, this stuff takes MASSIVE amounts of time. I think 1 profession a patch + Jedi in small bits for all of the patches is the MOST we can hope for.
You people need to look at this as a big picture, not as just you, you, you. This is a MMORPG... if the devs want to fix something, they are going to have to possibly put back a few people in efforts to make the system better for future players and for the majority of the time the game is working (expected to be about 4 and a half more years). You can't please everybody, but I think the devs made the right choice here.
Can people stop with the "if I wanted to play Jedi Knight/Jedi Academy/KotOR I would have bought it!".
I have played those games.. what I want is to be able to play a Jedi in a massively multiplayer world, with a large collection of friends and guild members.. you can't do that in any single player or LAN based Jedi game!.
I want to play my Jedi as a Jedi would act. I'm not gonna be running around coronet spaceport waving my lightsabre around screaming "look at me, I r L33T!!!!11 lolololo". I would still level in seclusion (like I am my current character), I would take part in large scale pvp (battlefields, city defense, city raids etc), and I would act covertly when I went to a large city..
I'll throw one back at you.. if you want Jedi to be rare or non-existant and suffer permadeath.. go watch the movies! Let the game be fun, like games are meant to be.. I already have a job, and it paysME money!!!

How could anyone be upset? Sorry you wasted your life powergaming a STUPID holocron but Tuff! That system sucked and kudos to the Devs for swallowing their pride and making the change.
That system was going to single handly ruin this game and I am happy to /wave bye to it for good. I was cosidering quitting as i had four holos in my inventory and had refused to even use them after my last one. I hated giving up a charecter I had worked so hard for.
So if you are bent about this, tuff turkey. If you liked this game and where not going for "teh win", you would be happy that changes are coming.
What an uneducated and half-thought statement. You didn't want to give up a character to go for Jedi, yet you mock those who had the desire and dedication to try. You were the person meant to be kept from Jedi because you were too lazy to go and get it. But going into any more detail about why this comment was stupid will only draw me into an even less interesting argument, so I'll leave it at that.
p.s. It's spelled "tough"
/sarcastic mocking in silly adam sandler esque voice
"no you are stupid and uneducated dumb person because you disagree with me. I was meant to be a jedi because i mindlessly grinded holos. You are not suppose to win cuz i am chosen one to be jedi not you.
/sacrasm off
Look "friend" my post was not directed at anyone, but since you decided to single me out and call me uneducated i say tuff turkey to you. And yes i spelled tough, Tuff college man. People who correct peoples spelling on message boards have WAY to much time on their hands.
Let me say I am sooooooooo sorry you grinded out all your professions but guess what......TO BAD! I have completed 12 profesions on my own, only one of which was a Holocron one. I felt the system was bad so i quit doing it. When all of you clowns started dropping proffesions this game got LAME. The system needed to be fixed.
You must not care about your character that much if you just tirelessly toss aside proffesions on the mindless pursuit to win. Where was mindless random grinding included on the game box descriptionanyways? You say i am lazy and i was meant to be KEPT from being a jedi so therefore"great grinders" like yourself are the ones who "deserve" to be jedi? You obviously have mental issues.
So in regards to you singling me out due to your disagreement with my opinion I say HAHAHAHAH you wasted your time! Good luck starting over like rest of us.
To those who grinded out proffesions but are not jerks who disagree with others and thereby call them names. I am sympathetic and am in the same boat. I empathise with all of you but surely you can see this needed to be fixed.
weak
Jedi should still get permadeath after a certain amount of deaths, maybe a death-o-meter that will rise and fall depending on time played and deaths accrued. More time played the death-o-meter goes down, more deaths accrued the death-o-meter goes up. When it hits full, PERMADEATH.
Don't loose the permadeath or we will be over run with Jedi scum.
Too rushed change.
Change of FS opening procedure - very very good - just make sure people who are really really advanced in it dont loose it. Loosing 16+ professions made by casual gamer since first holo showed up will hurt very much.
Change of Jedi class - premature, too rushed, and waaay too much in carebear direction. Following results will come:
a) A lot of jedi in era that SHOULD NOT have any.
b) You will have to nerf them, as they will be too many of them, and too easy to play. So instead of fixing kd/dizzy and defense issues you will have to keep them, and probably also reduce some other capabilties. This will mean jedi will not be a jedi, just a bit upgraded fencer with glow stick.
Also change of FS opening procedure coupled with vague phrases about quests etc, may indicate you are willing to push population control from jedi level, to fs opener lvl - its a drastic change to current situation, which in my opinion has not be considered well enough.
I personally believe that you should put in death decay in, but keep permadeath if you dont have spare decayed death. Additionally, to balance the you should consider putting in NPC bounties - mentioned earlier Vader, Mara Jade, etc. Stronger population control is the only way to actually keep jedi powerful, thus its a must, or jedi will become a joke.
