Man, personally it think a quest system is great. The holo grinding suxors, and i hate i have done couple the boxes, and had to give up stuff i liked, and finally just lost interest. If people quest to get a jedi then great, i am tired of people saying this doesnt fit the cannon or the continuety of the time fram of Star Wars. This is a game, its not the books. Get off the cannon thing and enjoy the game. Who cares that there will be a lot of jedi, people complain that there are ten on thier server right now, so they are mad that poeple may be having fun. I mean if you wanted cannon there wouldnt be very few rebels, but the out number the imps. Heck, the city of ancorhead would have been laid to waste by planetary bombardment, so since thats not happening then whats the whine about having too many jedi? I perosnally think its great.

But lets look at some facts, they needed to do something like this because face it numbers are dwindling. You cant log on during prime time now and not find a server past low. There have bene constant nerfs, and not a huge amount to do when your mastered. if you holo grind you keep going or just give up. So we now also see buddy keys, and free re activizations of accounts. So what, if you were the account manager for SOE do to keep people paying, well give em a carrot. So now everyone will be able by quests become a jedi. Its not about Cannon its about keeping a player base. The cannon is that you can be a jedi, that there are At St's, storm troupers, rancors all in one game Not the ultra fan boy stuff. Until you adjust to that its a GAME not the books, its a game based from the books then youll continue to be upset by the cannon.

LucasArts should revoke the Star Wars license from this game if SOE goes through with these changes. To follow continuity, there shouldn't be ONE jedi, let alone to ensure everyone to obtain and keep an active master jedi. How about you 1) add content to the game for EVERYBODY to use and 2) send every player a free copy of Jedi Academy, since that is exactly what SWG is going to be in a few months. It's amazing how 368 words can make me not want to play a game that I loved 20 minutes ago.

No permadeath... looks like the Jedi whiners got what they wanted. Of course SOE would listen because insatisfied customers equals less account which in turn means less money for them.

Hey, here's a **edit**ing clue. How about now since more Jedi will be invading the Galaxy, try fixing the FUBAR bounty system for Jedi. Make mission terminals spit out real PC Jedi 24/7, make droids work, etc. etc.

My opinion is that this change was mainly necessary because most jedi deaths were caused by server crashes So rather than fixing their hardware they are doing this

Actually I think this hurts the game, things like this just piss of the die-hard StarWars fans because of the lack of continuity, and frankly the only people who will still be playing this game in 6 months to a year are the Star Wars fans... So basically things like this are just going to cause more to leave....

Remember, most jedi's aren't the die hard Star Wars fans, they are power gamers, power gamers are the first to leave for the next game....

Bad idea. Now you WILL HAVE Jedi Masters everywhere. This is somethign you do NOT WANT. Heck, there really shouldn't be Jedi at all!

ok since ive read this very "limited" information i have several questions.

1) i am currently on my 15th profession, 10 of which have come after my silent holo, i have been grinding professions like crazy to unlock. What happens when this change is implemented, and i havent unlocked yet? does that mean i have wasted countless hours for a lost cause? will i be at the same level of progression as a 3 day old char?

2) is the skill drop random, or will it be your highest level attained, for instance if im 1422, will my 4th tier skill be the one to go?

3) how can you release such a vague statement regarding the changes to a class that A LOT OF people are attempting to obtain. Why not release the information with a definitive statement of THIS IS WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO.

whereas i see the changes to the class itself are good, the information concerning the unlocking process is more frustrating than anything else.

I wonder if we all thought that Q meant "new path to jedi" because it's there or because we wanted to? Everyone I've talked to who read it came to that same conclusion and i was curious about how they'd read it so i didn't say anything in advance. Weird how we all jumped to the same conclusion.

Now Q isn't the sharpest knife in the kitchen, but he's smart enough to think about what the players are going to read-into what he says. I'd have to assume that's what he meant. But I've also believed things like "casual gamers can be jedi too" so maybe it's just me. I no longer make assumptions about how this company is going to treat their customers.

I'm sure clarification is coming.......monday.

I want an answer on the hologrinding. Why the hell would you give out holo's as christmas presents then take away the ability to use them. This game looses more and more direction and more and more momenteum everytime i long on to this site.

Whats next, stick your tongue out at the current player base and reward those that already quit? Oh wait, you already did that by giving the players that lost intrest a half a month free game play. Those of us that stuck it out through the bugs and balancing issues get what? I am not just lossing patience, I am starting to get pissed.

Please leave permadeath in! Why would you even consider taking this out? Sure, make it easier for people to become jedis, but atleast let the rest of us kill them.

First, thanks for changing, if you are changing, the FSCS system. Hologrinding sucks. And those be the last friendly words ya hear.

You developers make me sick. Over the course of the last year, you have consistantly thrown continuity aside to cater to the "casual gamer," a phrase I say with utter contempt. All video games/companies have actually. They have abandoned us who put them in the position they are in today and since there are more of them, skew difficulty and content for these casual pu##$%s who couldn't video game their way out of a paper bag.

And now this new permadeath thing. Unbelievable. I will echo all who have posted before me that this is it for this game. Im not saying I am quitting, that's stupid. However, whatI mean is that this game has now become a complete and utter failure for what it was originally advertized for. Everyone on the server having the FS is not a problem to me, I understand that eventually, it's going to happen. However, now everyone with their FS slot will be super powerful because there is NO

My guess is that they'll take out the "silent" profession and make you do quests instead. Just a guess though. And yes, if you've ground dozens of professions and still havn't opened your slot......atleast you got some nice badges out of it.

How about also adding quests to getting master status for the regular professions as well. I know I discussed this with Holo once upon a time.

However, now everyone with their FS slot will be super powerful because there is NO LONGER ANY RISK WHATSOEVER in being a Jedi. I please ask that you reconsider this. Give the Jedi more defenses so that they can be a formidable force in PvP areas, but keep permadeath so that we can at least have it LOOK like the time period between Ep. IV and V.
