Scientific Shipwrite

I have been waiting anxiously for the coming of the SE since the opening of this game, and I would very much like to see the Shipwrite profession expressed as a realistic engineering profession. For the levels of crafting involved the basic crafting professions have been very well depicted and characterized, but a starship engineer is a completely different thing.

I would very much like to see this profession entail the utilization of some form of engineering workstation and scientific interface, so that when a Shipwrite sits down to design and build a ship it ACTUALLY seems as though they are doing so. Some significant level of detail should be given to the experimentation on the modules and the internal systems beyond simply clicking in the boxes and going through the percentiles.

This should involve some type of special GUI that would let the Shipwrite ACTUALLY adjust the design implementations and see the changes in output on their interface. So that a Shipwrite might spends hours or days working on a particular component to get it just right, with optimal performance and output. Perhaps changing wiring configurations, adjusting the resource stacks, the whole nine yards. There is NO WAY that an actual starship engineer is going to throw all his resources into the machine and hope that they make for a good mix when it comes experimentation time, so I think the standard system for crafting should be adjusted in this way to reflect that.

Thank you for the consideration.

New Factions

It has been some time since I have seen any new information on the proposed expansion to factions, and I would like to see this picked up again. I am sure others have mentioned it before, and this is nothing new, but I would VERY MUCH like to see the Hutt faction implemented soon, and new and additional factions added as well as we go along.

It should be possible, with some few exceptions like Jawas and Tuskens, for characters to join any faction for which they have the perequisites and faction points, and thus game some benefits. This would add to the content and the detail of the game without adding to server load or anything like that, and would definately be a step in the right direction.

Droid Wranglers

I had heard talk some time back about a possible Droid Wrangler profession being added to the game, though I do not know if that was actual speculation or simply rumor. I would very much like to see this profession developed and put into play, as it would be a simple adjustment from the Creature Handler structure already there, and would allow people with special training to utilize more advanced and more powerful droids.

Moreover, this would permit the acquisition of Droideka, Blaster Droids, Super Battle Droids, et al for those who hate animal pets but would like to have some reflection of the actual Star Wars continuity in such a profession.

As well, it would introduce several types and styles of new droids into the game, just as critters did with BE, that would make the DE profession once more a viable and vital part of the commerce and experience of Star Wars.

New Droids

I have been waiting and hoping to see something along the lines of expanded droids like we got expanded pets with the Creature Handler expansion, but I haven't seen anything as yet. I had high hopes for the droid expansion, but instead we got a bunch of special affects modules and utilities for the droid chassis already in play.

Would it be that hard to expand upon this basic theme, and to introduce more and varied droids to the game? The single most sought-after aspect of the entire Star Wars continuity? And it has been replaced with giant mutant chickens and retarded camels. For the love of all that is George! :-)

Please, give us our droids.

Droid Races

I would also very much like to see the option to play a droid as a character race, if that is a possibility. No Force, no professions, just a droid with a chassis type and the ability to be upgraded for money. It would be AWESOME! And I think there are alot of players who would get a kick out of doing such a thing.

What do you think?

Add a "no heal" effect to the Stun state - i.e. blocks a player from healing themselves or others.

There is still a very big problem with the Warcry skill. Currently, anybody can solo kill something, by simply putting a DoT on a creature, then warcrying away. Why is that bad? Well, on Test, there's a new thing that has 1.2million HAM, heavy armor, and 95% resists to everything, and two players of mediocre skill kill it using that same method. That is just not right.

I also think that something is wrong with the defense mods. I saw a completely unarmored TKM tanking Battle Droids in the DWbunker, and he was getting hit for less damage then I was with my armor on. He could've been using a damagemitigation food, but if not...

More race-specific armor. This would add a lot of flavor to the SWG universe. Sorry I can't quite back all this up with tons of EU lore, I'm only starting to get into the EU. But I think that adding more race-specific armor would be pretty nifty. Maybe make it comparable to other armors once the Combat Revamp takes effect since other races don't have the stat bonus wookies do.

I was on my guild's boards and my friend suggested this on our boards. He said that Smuggler should also be on BH Terminals, not just the Jedi. If you really think about it, how many smugglers do you see walking on the street everyday? I'm not saying base SWG on a reaslistic complex, just add things that are only common sense. Also, another thing I'd like to see is a Sword for Swordsman that's really big. They are "heavy" Swordsman after all. Back when I first started the game I did nothing but try to find a heavy sword. The best I could find was the Cleaver which kind of disappointed me. And when I say big sword I am going along the lines of Cloud's Buster Sword from Final Fantasy VII. I will admit the Scythe was a nice touch but it still didn't really strike a chord with me.

I was reminiscing over Dark Forces, that Star Wars classic and remembered one of my favourite sections. When Jabba Pits you against two giant beasts, which I have no idea what they are called, in a large sandy ring surrounded by haundreds of jeering spectators. Also echoed in episode II.Then i thought - what about PvP Tournements in a ring for cash?

Ok here goes - Buildings could be created to hold a ring for two players to fight it out. When one wins they get paid and stay on for the next bougt. If they lose they still gain the exp but are removed forthwith. The fighters can only fight against asimilar level ofoponent butnot necassarily the same fighting style. (SoPikeman vs. Swordsman or Carboneer vs. Pistoleer etc.) But a noob couldnt fight someone greatly more powerful like a TKM or BH, obviously.) The players could enter their names into the tournament plus any specs that the spectators could view and then let them fight.

To go with this and create a greater sense of competition a simple gambling system could be created. If there were galleries surrounding the pits for spectators and the spectators could bet on the winner or loser and the winner gets a share. Money could be earned like missions etc. but with a goal of tounament master at the end for example which could gain a badge or title.

There could be two types of ring. One basic sandy ring for brawler battles and one larger maybe more complex ring for gun fighting. The spectators would surround this ring and could jeer or cheer for the person they like. Thespectatorreaction could also effect the players. So if for example a player had the whole audience on his side he would gain short mods, like Berserk or extra HAM. So then the players would make the bougts more interesting for the spectators to gain more strengths and again raising the competition.

Just an idea. Thanks for listening.

Key Sounds

One of the relatively minor but very annoying things I have noticed is the lack of authentic sounds from the Star Wars milieu. I would like to be able to hear the Jawa shouting "Ookini" or the Tusken bellowing its victory sounds when it is standing over my dead body. I would like to experience the skin-tingling sound of a Tusken roaring at me in the deep desert when I don't see him in time, for that matter.

These and many other key sounds can be coded with simply patched wave files and sound triggers for the events, as you well know, and I for one would like to see them added.

Racial Force Bonuses

I have seen a few discussions concerning what bonuses or penalties certain races should have when it comes to using the Force and training as a Jedi, and I think it is time that this issue was addressed and resolved as well. If they are going to have such bonuses, which I think would be appropriate and in-continuity on many levels, then by all means let us know what they are and give us some idea what we are dealing with.
