TH- may I ask what is wrong with the current setup of making a new FSCS upon completion of the trials?
As a casual gamer, It would really disappoint me to find out that I have to give up all my hard-earned skills to have a Jedi character. It has taken me since June 26th to reach BH 3444 (went straight there, and did no other profession except for novice ranger and tracking 1), and I will not give it up so easily. You devs used to state you wanted this game to be casual gamer-friendly. To me, it's geared more towards power gamers who play more than 20 hours a week. It's pretty disheartening to see all your friends talk about their next Jedi skill, when you are still stuck on your first elite profession. Please, I would like very much to slowly ease my way up to Jedi-dom, then to make my way up Jedi trees. I would HATE to finally complete the Jedi quests after years, only to find out I must get rid of my hard-earned skills to advance any further. For Power gamers, doing one profession takes a day or so. This is no big deal. They will just shrug, and start a new character and get him up to MBH, Master pistoleer in 2 days. Then, he has his 'old' character back and a new Jedi.
I ask again- What is wrong with the current Jedi Character setup?
My question Thunderheart is will the people who haven't unlocked their FSCS yet be able to start the quests in Publish 9 and begin to get their 24 force skill boxes and then wait to become padawan when publish 10 comes, or will the quests themselves for us current non jedi not begin until Publish 10 Jedi Trials?
P.S. I think the quest system is an awseome idea for the new jedi system and I can't wait to see what it will bring to the Star Wars Universe.

What if a person mastered a profession, dropped the master box, retrained the master box,... accumulated more apprentice points (probably through some easy way like training Marksman 0/0/0/1 over and over and over again), would their internal counter of total number of professions mastered increase each time the same master box is dropped and retrained? Giving a person more credit in the new quest system than a person who mastered different professions?

I think what they mean, neelong, was the raw data of "professions mastered" and "fs required professions mastered" is stored in your account information. So, they know both the total number you've mastered and the number you mastered which were required for FS. What they don't know is what any one of those was specifically. So picture mastered professions as entries in a chart. FS requireds are a "1", while simple masteries not required for Jedi are "0". They can tell how many total entries you have in the chart and how many 1's, but beyond that they can't get any other info...or so they say....
Under the old system...no that doesn't work. (tested that theory already)....new system definitely not. New system, us old farts since launch will take all our excess professions mastered and buy our force sensitivity boxes. Brand new "joe noob" characters will, (if I'm reading between the lines correctly), once they make master in a given profession and continue to use that profession will earn FSS points which they will use to buy new ranks in the the 6 force sensitivity trees. (Whether you can use FSS XP you earn in rifleman to gain ranks in the FSS crafting tree, nobody knows...)...but that's the new system as I understand it.
Jedi on test report that six of their their jedi skill boxes went into the FS skills during the conversion. Is this intended? If so how will someone that's jedi initiate 0-0-0-0 be converted?
To force people to drop their main chars to pursue the Jedi path is UNACEPTABLE! I am shocked and amazed, after all this time, you of all the people (and Devs) seem to disregard why vast majority of people play Role Playing Games (RPG), it is the time and effort we invest making our characters. To ask us to give that up is extremely unfair, especially when the rules of this game has changed so many times and caused loss of "fun factor" for many.
I left the game because of the holo grind, only to come back for the Jedi revamp hope. But if I have to give up my character, this is not any better than holo grind and will quit again. I hope you make sure this wonderful revamp doesn't go sour because of this incredible mistake you are about to make.
1. Leave holocron drops in the game, in fact increase their frequency for a brief period.
2. Allow users to "use" them like normal, and it will reveal what their hidden profession was after Publish 10.
3. Those who didn't do holocrons, it will list what all of their holocron professions were including their hidden one.
4. remove the "hidden" flag in the DB for the hidden profession(s) so that when someone uses their holocron their profession is displayed.
Frankly, there are A LOT of us who wish to know how close we actually were, and possibly which professions we discounted as "that can't be it".
Devs you need to realize how much people do not want their mains to become their Jedi. There is a petition that is 32 pages long in the Jedi forums of people who do not want their main to become Jedi, mostly due to the incredibly poor decisions you made about racial stats minimums and maximums. Please for one in your careers listen to what we are saying! We DO NOT WANT OUR MAIN CHARACTERS TO BECOME FORCE SENSITIVE, WE WANT A FORCE SENSITIVE CHARACTER SLOT, just like the ones you gave to the powergamers.

1. In-between publish 9 and 10 we will NOT get a unlock msg. When the day of 10 comes around and I log in (Given the notion I might have actually opened my FS slot) does my main char become the jedi or do the old rules still apply?
2. If my main becomes the jedi, do I get the opportunity to do a 1 time transfer of all my faction pets? Do I lose all my FP or at this point am I still just declared?
I just would hate to see all of my FP's and pets go poof, if I had known that would be the case I would not have spent huge amounts of time to get them (Yes I'm Imp and have a few AT-ST's)........ Instead I would have been a holo grinder, hehe. I assume I will also lose my rank as colonel? Just curious on how this is going to work because yes I do and will become a Jedi no matter how many curve balls I get thrown but I would like to think my past efforts of being a part of the GCW are all for not
