Looks like everyone will have to become Jedi inorder to compete in PvP since no one will be resistant to lighsaber damage. Thanks for reducing the number of viable classes for PvP to one.

If they haven't yet, bet your bottom dollar a 'cortosis weave' armor layer will also be implemented so you CAN have lightsaber resistant armor if you're inclined to go the extra mile, and deal with the extra encumberance (much like many of us opt to do with stun layers, to prevent the current whooping fencers and and the like with stun weapons can lay down).

Great Friday Feature, Really helps out that small percentage of your customer base that are Jedi. Keep it up though and there will be more of them than there are smugglers and....well....pretty much any other profession combined. So here's a big thumbs up.

Important question: Once you finish force sensitive quests, etc, and qualify for your second slot... is that first slot forever 'force sensitive', or will a character restart also restart the /entire/ process from scratch?
It sounds like the latter. Must say that's hugely disappointing since the answer to 'what if I don't like race A' has always been 'you can always restart'... still true, but worlds more consequences.

well i know im going to look forward to this system and pub10, im no hardcore gamer but i can play lots of hours during night on weekends. I just hope the devs dont take these lots of whining and push the jedi publish´s back or delay em, the summer is the perfect time to develop it..

Good Luck devs!

1. To solve all problems of "Whaa I domny want my main character to bea jedi, wwhaa, and i am lazy and dont want to do the quests all over again in my second slot, whjaa" I think there should be a 1 time species change. 2 I think the change in the jedi system is great. Anf for all those people who have been grinding proffesions , i think that depending on how many proffesions u have grinded u will be a automaytically have a certsain # of the forcesensetive skills. There all problems solved. AR U LISTINING DEVS

well i think they do because to become a jedi master you cant have distractions like are the cookies ready?

yes i do think that we will be over ran with jedi all i have to say about this is MAKE THE QUEST UBER DIFFICULT!!! /agree 100%

Ok Kapen. OMG ROFLMAO. when i read the cookie part, i almost fell off my chair.

seriously though, i do agree with the overrun with jedi part. i think this will occur in 1-3 months after pub 10. but i don't agree with your main char having to go jedi with no choice. there are a ton of reasons. Some may sound flimsy, but most are sound. read through the thread again.

if this was the way we were supposed to get jedi from the beginning, then no problem. but the fact is it wasn't.

what would really work is if they put in a filter that looked for your sign up date and applied jedi quests to only new accounts and allowed old accounts to continue as is.

I agree that the game as a whole will get better due to the quests. At least for me that's not a question.

It's simply a matter of this should not go into effect for older players that have lived under a different system. A system that allowed us almost a year of developing a different kind of character. We should be allowed to finish that path as intended or get hefty credit for the time spent and professions mastered. This is about time and effort spent. I still don't agree with the easy road thinking, at least for me.

In addition, I think an equitable solution would be to allow only those that have a sign up date prior to Pub 10, have a choice as to which character to go FS.

That would probably solve this in one shot.

i take it by saying that that youve only had the game maybe a month.

i also think by you saying that you have no idea of what is going on at all

and thirdly most people have worked for months on getting there template you say that were too lazy to go through another few months to become force sensitive call me strange if you will but we cant be on a computer 24/7 playing galaxies.

From what I understand it is not the devs intention to make becomming a Jedi any easier. It will still take massive amounts of time to "grind" to Jedi. It just won't be professions, but quests. What form these quests will take or how many we must do is not known. It is clear to me they will take as much or more time to complete as doing professions. For those "casual" type gamers that were upset that doing so many professions was nearly impossible and took too much time, I'm afraid the new system will hold no solutions.

Many people have said that hologrinding has ruined the game. Perhaps it has. A great many people will spend massive amounts of time doing things they don't enjoy to get a reward they want. SWG was supposed to be different, but it is clear to me the devs keep treading down the same road as many other MMORPG's have gone down. This is perhaps the most disapointing to me because they could learn from years of experience of other devs what works and what doesn't.

I play these games because I want the Journey to be fun, not because I spend so many hours doing boring repetative tasks to achieve something that the devs want to make rare. If you want something rare, then don't put it in. Otherwise make what players do in game enjoyable.

ok im aveteran to this game and im happy with this system. oh no ill have to give up everything ive ever worked on just because i get what ive wanted all this time becomeing a jedi. come on people you know once you were going to get your FSCS you are rarely going to play your old char and for the ones that say the dont want to drop their main profession and say "doesnt SOE read the books and watch the films!" well i think they do because to become a jedi master you cant have distractions like are the cookies ready? oh i need to build my friend a house! you have to devote your life to the force and training in the books and films a jedi never picked up a lightsaber for the first time and went out and slautered millions they had to train they trained sense they were like five so give the devs a break also people who are complaining about their races THEY ARE INSTALLING ROBES THAT PROBOLY ALL RACES CAN WEAR! ehh my tran cant wear gloves and boots now he wont look like a jedi! ehh my wookie cant wear armor now he wont look like a jedi! in the films and books how many jedi have you seen or read about walking down the street with armor on. yes i do think that we will be over ran with jedi all i have to say about this is MAKE THE QUEST UBER DIFFICULT!!!

We were told we would never have to give up our main character in order to become aJedi. Now you're telling us exactly the opposite. Some of us don't have the correct races to make viable Jedi. You need to do one of the following in order to be just and fair to the entire customer base, and not just to current Jedi. (Who pay the same $$$ per month we all do.)

Upon publish of the new Jedi system:
All players will have to use their main as their Jedi.
All players will be able to use their 2nd slot as their Jedi w/o being forced to do twice the amount of work as current Jedi.

Seriously, I have friends who have unlocked their Jedi in 7-8 professions. Since then you have constantly changed the profession count to unlock and I cannot unlock with the same amount of effort my friends put into it. Now I see that every current Jedi can have their cake and eat it too, but those close to unlocking will not get the same cake to eat?

And the way you explained things so far, you make it sound like only the holos will be credited to us in the next system, and not the total of professions we have done since. Seeing as it takes doing most of the professions now in order to unlock, (my friend had to do all 32 just a few weeks ago) that does not seem fair. Of course, releasing two publishes for Jedi before you release the combatbalance or the GCW publish doesn't really seem fair either, so I digress. It's painfully obvious to see it's all about the money to SOE these days, and not the game.

And I'm still waiting (Month4 now?) to see Imperials get the same chance at a banner that Rebels get. But that's a pipe dream too...God forbid it takes a few lines of code tacked onto the faction recruiters in order for us to purchase one. I mean, you had no problems hotfixing out the Nova Troopers...
