Thread: 9.2 Publish Feedback: Wookiee Armor, Old Mos Espa Arena Swoop Track & Crafting Quests
Knighthawkone, answer to your post i did read the crafting quest info on the patch notes and i am novice architectbut i still find it boring
its goodfor the extra exp if you want to quickly grind through the professions but thats about it really.
Anyway glad to see the wook's are getting some love from the devs
This sounds like a great idea, I'd love to see something like this!

Might be good to either have a feedback button in game for feedback or maybe a general mail account that people can send stuff while in game. Many times have thinsg that might be cool that see in game but by time leave forget it all. And not just bug reports either but good feed back. All we have in game is the ability to report bad things nothing to report good things that we might come across. That whole positive renforcemnet thing
Ok to put this to rest this was taken directly from the interview word for word. He is not bilttleing anyone or discounting anyones opinion. If you READ it blackman is saying that those who read and post in the forums only make up a small portion of the overall picture (which is true). He is also saying that that small portion is the CORE of the base and that what that portion says is valualbe and valid. He is acctually thanking all of you in a way and validating all of your coments and such. If you had read the whole comment is\nstead of bristleing at one aspect of it you would have realized that.
"Bring it on big boy!"
"I am the Wicker Wookie!"

Star Dragons
Eclipse

But I don't seem to be able to try the crafting quests yet, are they only live on the american servers?

Not according to Haden Blackman... we're just a very loud minority, who complain while everyone that loves the game is playing it;X

Why solicit feedback from this small sliver of the overall fanbase that reads the forumwhen you could be getting much more meaningful feedback from all those people that are actually playing the game?
I've never been a big fan of Dev bashing, but this man does have a very damn good point

/moveFurniture # up or /move up #isSTILL broken for inside tents, cantinas and houses for some of us.
Have you tried using '/moveFurniture up (amount)'? This version of the command has worked well for me.

Well, you see, that analysis requires a degree of critical thinking that is sorely lacking right now. If you actually parse Blackman's statement, it's true...people who are happy with everything are just playing. Nothing false about it at all.
If you can't see that there is a difference between soliciting feedback for newly launched features and the type of polling involved with concluding that the bulk of players want JTL...well, then you're being stubborn.
Now I'll sit here and brace for 1 star.
The primary fault here, is that Blackman (and you) are assuming that every player in SWG actively reads and post on the forums.
I would venture to guess that a good majority of the players in SWG don't visit the forums, much less post on any regular basis. Further, I would say that half those players don't even know the forums exist. Now, take into the consideration of the constant flux of new players who stick around for 2 months or 3....Then quit. They quit because the game wasnt for them. They couldnt get Jedi out of the box. Or they quit because the game just got...boring (imagine that).
The players that actively post regarding whats broken, what works are the players that know the game the best. Who better to listen to?
I will give you and Blackman some credit here. I am sure there are players in the game that are happy and not bitching on the forums (see above). But that is pretty much because they don't know any better. They don't know pistoleer has two working specials. They don't know Commando is hopelessly borked. The happy pistoleers are running around using bodyshot3, disarming1 and 2, multitarget pistol shot, and pistol melee defense 2, unbeknownst to them...THEY DONT WORK. These are the same players, that in, 1 or 2 months time, are going to quit. Maybe they bought a 3 or 6 month subscription, or they just forget to cancel. One day they dont log on. Then it turns into two days. Then four. Etc etc etc.
I would love to see how many people still have a subscription but havent logged on in months and they (or their parents) are still paying for it.
They wanted feedback on new features? Heh...They got it....HEY MORONS!!! The crafting quest NPC's arent in the cities!!! HEY MORONS!!! On some servers the Espa track cant be run because of player city structures over the waypoints!!
/HIGHFIVE!!!!!! woOT!!!
As far as the polling regarding JTL is concerned....Where was the polling taken place? I never received an email about it. I never saw it on top of the forums boards with a "Vote here" thing. Noone I know in game (and I know ALOT of people) were EVER asked what they wanted. NOONE.
So...Blackman....Show me the polling data. The demographics of those polled. Where did you do it? When? How?
Releasing JTL prior to fixing AED is the same as putting the cart before the horse (or in this case, the donkey)...How they can think that releasing an expansion to a game, when its base (AED) is still broken, is a good idea is beyond me. The only thing I can think of is thatthe guys heading this up, from the devs to TH to Blackman, are all doing just enough to keep their jobs. If they can stretch it out far enough, the longer they stay employed. The devs, I would think, are pretty safe in as much as I couldnt imagine that a programmer could walk off the street and start working with the code that is SWG. It really IS in the best interest of those involved to have a constantly broken (or rotating) set of problems. Keeps them employed.
At this point, I could really care less about a Combat Balance. Just fix the professions, THEN worry about balancing that out later. This would, I think, satisfy the player base TREMENDOUSLY:
1) Fix the professions
2) Eliminate Combat Medic (or rather, their poisons/diseases)
The biggest slap in the face is the request from TH to the players to tell their correspondents what their main issues are....Umm....WHAT? We HAVE been telling our prof correspondents what are main issues are. EVERY TIME YOU HAVE ASKED FOR A TOP 5 ISSUES POST!!!!!
I dont mean to go off on you, and this isnt directed all towards you. Its just frustrating dealing with the powers that be in this game...

But not the majority. That doesn't mean that a majority of people aren't having fun, it means that they'd rather keep having fun than stop to post about having fun. I enjoy reading those "good time" posts, and I post them too. But all I'm saying is that most people are more inclined to postor write letters when they're angry, which is why the bulk of posts is and always will be negative.
I never said that positive posts don't happen. I only meant to say that they're rarer because, as Blackman said, the people having fun are in-game having fun.
A riddle:
Someof the people that play SWG post on the forums.
Most of the people that post on the forums are angry.
Using the above clues, which of the following statements is most true?
a) Most of the people that play SWG are angry.
b) Most of the people that are happy with the game do not post.
c) Most of the people that are angry with the game do post.
d) A and B
e) B and C
f) A and C
g) All of the above
h) None of the above
Personally, I think the answer is E, and I think that Mr. Blackman was addressing B specifically. That doesn't make the angry posts any less important, it just means that they don't necessarily reflect every opinion out there.
Hehehe, good one! ![]()
And Agree.
