instead of screaming and shouting and crying about stuff that has been broken since day 1 why not try to provide some constructive feedback, If I were a dev I would'nt want to trawl through pages and pages of people crying to find 1 or 2 posts where somebody has actually said "I liked such and such about release X but this thing here was kind of bugged or did'nt quite fit"

I know I'm gonna get flamed for saying this but I dont care, heck I'm not a dev and i'm sickl of reading posts about "paying money for a broken game blah blah blah, and been here since beta yadda yadda yadda, gonna go to such and such wehn it comes out"

well then GO. if you dont like this game then leave

Friend, people have been providing and reproviding and resubmitting, and reformulating and reinventing constructive feedback for over a year. How many times can you ask for suggestions from people who have been providing thought out ideas only to have the requested information utterly ignored? The smuggler/SL professions are the most gimped wastes of time (I'm neither) more than a YEAR after launch. Do they get fixed? Nope, we get crafting quests. Opps, I mean we get crafting quest patch notes, not really any code.

People are leaving - in droves.

Ok, I thought what the heck, I'll try it again. This time I chose a hard mission for artisan. This was an even bigger disapointment. The npc required me to make 8 deeds for personal mineral extractors. Made them, stuck them in the crate the npc provided me, and gave them back. Reward: 280 credits, 760 points of general crafting experience.

280 credits for 2000 resources used? Once again, could have made more selling them for 1 cpu (250 credits) on the bazaar. Can you fix the payout a little? Make it worth the time and effort?

Please tell me your kidding? (I know your not).

I think the idea of having crafting missions to get xp is great. However, having something for the bored Master weaponsmith to craft something new or for a higher purpose or for a decent amount of money while his weapons arent selling that week so he can finance his harvestors, houses, and other structures would be a great idea. I have no combat skills, so if my sales are low this week Im in trouble. the 1k missions currently with the artisan mission terminals arent anough to cover his expenses. How about a Weaponsmith mission terminal?

Sometimes resources that I need to make weapons arent available. If I cant make weapons to sale, how can I support myself? selling bird cages wont cover the expenses i endure. I need a way to make anough money to support the harvestors and traveling expenses to get the resources so I can make the weapons. Ive been a Master Weaponsmith for over 7 months now and been an artisan since I started playing back in June. Ive been surviving on resources that I gathered months ago but they are getting consumed. Its getting harder and harder to extract resources from various places due to Player cities, new race tracks, and other special zone areas. Even then, the quality of the resources are so poor lately its not even worth harvesting. The weaponsmiths need some kind of welfare system for the poor weaponsmiths that cant get the krayt tissues or other schematics due to the camping of jedis and their greed and horde.

Oh, another problem i would like to mention is the artisan terminals. Whats the point? Most true diehard artisans dont have combat skills and dont wear armor. The current system of artisan terminals make you go several thousand meters to deliver the crafted item. OK, either you take a shuttle to the destination which costs money or you ride your speeder which may cost even more money in maintanance to make a loosy 1k. Your net profit is what? 200-600 credits? As a master weaponsmith I should be able to do a mission that pays as well as those of Player missions. Players can make 30k in 5 minutes. It would take me several days as an artisan to make that kind of loot. Thats not even to mention the loot items they pick up and sell such as holocrons, pearls, tissues, crystals or schematics etc. etc.

True, I can sell my weapons for cash but no one is buying to many weapons from me cuase they all want the "UBER" weapons which I cannot provide cause no one sells krayt tissues or other enhancement less then a 300k a piece if even then. If I bought the tissues or whatever then I would have to charge an ungodly amount to make a profit. Dont see to many people spending 500k for one weapon.

Been playing since near day one and yet to even see a krayt tissue or other enhancement.

May the force be with you...always.

The contractor is live today as promissed. Here is my story:

I spoke with the contractor and he let me chose a weaponsmith quest. He then further asked if I would like a easy, medium, or hard quest - being Master WS, I of course chose Hard.

He politely handed me a crate to store the 5 stun batons I was supposed to create for him.

After politely accepting his challege I walked to the shuttle port, paid 200+ credit to shuttle back to my weapons lab. I collected a pre-made crate of power conditioners and the other required resources. I proceeded to make 5 stun batons as contracted, not bothering to waste my time to experiment on the stun batons since they would disappear to the contractor.

Wanting to determine the XP gained in the crafting of the 5 batons, I started with 39,504 weapons crafting XP and I finish with 40,179 XP, a complete gain of 675 XP. In order to craft a stun baton, you need to have complete Melee Weapons Crafting 4 (which requires 77,000 crafting XP to complete that box alone).

Having proudly finished the order, I headed back to the shuttleport to deliver the goods. I paid my 200+ credits to shuttle back, crud, I have to wait 4 min 20 seconds (MUCH better than 9'20" tho). I presented my goods to the contractor, he awarded me with an additional 175 crafting XP and 120 credits.

My expextations of a satisfying mission or usefull mission was zero, so no sadness here, it is just not reaching the goal of "adding" to non-master crafters gaming experience. At least pay for my shuttle flight or give me enough credits to pay for material costs, Jeez - Help a brother Rodian out from time to time.

I hope SOE didnt burn to many high dollar dev hours creating this content, wont be used much.

I had ago at the Easy architect mission for the crafting quest, was asked to make 10 streetlamps..in return few exp and 150 credits. Bit boring and bit bad, not worth it really...maybe if the contractor gave use temp schematics that brand new to the game be alot better.

Like for architect you given a brand new large table schematic and they want 10 of them, they give you the temp schematic (cant make into a factory schematic) so you can go off and make them. When you done bring them back, get paid and have a bonus like give the tabletemp schematic to you with few uses on

Least then both novices and masters have fun, well thats what i think anyway

It's funny I read the forums all the time just never post. I came here in the hopes of finding out some additional info about the new Wookiee armor only to find the forum over flowing with spam. That's right spam, all of you who are posting whines about how we get refered to by one person is rediculous. I mean I wasted an hour skimming through your "useless" posts to get to anything about the new update. If I had a penny for every time I've been insulted and made fun of by those around me I coulda retired 5 years ago, it's one persons opinion. And that opinion is not necessarily shared by everyone else TH included.

I'm a BH so I know all about broken things and getting nerfed but I still play. I took BH on purpose not as a holo not as a lets see how this works or whatever. Now look I'm spaming the board.

So to get on topic, if you read closely on the discription of the crafter quests it says to add a bit for novice crafters in a world of masters.

As for the armor I am a Wookiee and I get my rear handed to me in PvP even in the first gen armor. So while your complaining that you no longer have the best armor option in the galaxy remember that some of us never did and didn't complain. Yeah it's easy for me to say that now...

I await all flames one stars and SPAMS with breath abated.

*** 9.2 Update Notes ***
  • Crafting Quests
Located in Commercial Guild Halls located in static cities now have NPC contractors that can give out new crafting missions. There are mission difficulties of easy, challenging and difficult depending the skill boxes a player possesses. The rewards granted are some credits and a small experience point bonus associated with crafting the item. The goal of the implementation of the “Crafting Quests” is to provide our wide variety of crafting professions the chance to use/sell their otherwise obsolete items and wares, creating a market for novice and intermediate crafters in a market of masters.

    • Are these in yet?

There have been many reports that the NPC contractors can't be found in any of the Commercial Guild Halls.

Thanks for the head's up. They will be live tomorrow.

What's up with recent publishes havingfeatures that end up going live the next day? Why is this trend becoming commonplace? Like, the announcement over anniversary paintings, then oh wait, those will show up tomorrow.

I would think that if you knew part of the publish wasn't going Live, you wouldn't put it in the publish notes. Please stop confusing us as to whether new content really made it to Live or not. Please keep publish notes relevant.

      Thanks.

Regarding the new wookie armor. I'm not sure what the DEVs intention with those were.

It's currently very overpowered. With normal resources you can make 40%stun 80%Kinetic and 65% base armor which

is WAY better than composite, and it's WAY lighter. Together with the stat migration wookies get this is one strong combination.

This is also assuring that no one will EVER making anything but the hunting armor.

Perhaps the devs should put another special on the hunting armor and let the black be kin?

I'm blown away by all the off-topic content on this thread.

For my part, haven't had the chance to check out the racetrack yet. I did get a good look at the hunting armor, however. Looks great! All of my guild's wookies that I've heard fromare very happy now.

I like the distinctive look of the racial armor and wish that it was like this for all races.

The payouts for the Crafting Quests are way to low to be worth it.

The crafting XP bonus is nice, could be a little higher, but since you get crafting XP for making the items for the quest, it does make for a nice bonus. However, as stated previously the credit payout is not nearly high enough. You could sell the items that you made for the quest for 1cpu of materials used to make the items and make more money than what the quest reward is.

The payout really needs to be looked at in order for these quests to be viable.
