Thread: Publish 6 Feedback: Creature Handlers & Pets
My biggest concern? The fun has been taken out of being a MCH. I have had this profession since the game was released. It told a lot of time and effort to get to Master and it was worth it. We have been now been reduced to zoo-handlers.
Pets don't follow, pets autostore, pets run away from combat, pets spin-twirl-or stare off into space when given the attack command, pets don't understand the /tellpet command....well, others have mentioned this multiple times in other post so it's no big surprise that pets are not working properly.
What I would like you to address honestly is what is in the future plans for MCH? or do you hope by that time MCH will become so unattractive and non-fun that the profession will implode?

I agree with all the issues stated so far. I have a concern which isn't so much of a bug as just a minor annoyance. I think that Creature Handlers should be able to sell their pets on the bazaar and on vendors just like BE pets. It seems unfair that the only way to get rid of a pet is to destroy it or trade it in person to person trade. Just a thought.

just to be clear, this happens ALL the time. it is not an occasional anoying bug, it is a CONSTANT GAME STOPPING BUG.
if you're a melee class, this will constantly result in you getting agro instead of your pet. if you're a ranged class, it results in your enemies constantly running out of your range. if you persue the target you will get too far from the lair and your mission will reset itself. something MUST be done about this NOW. it has rendered the CH profession 100% useless.
My issues:
a) Pets stand inside of you...Doesn't matter what kind they are...full adults, babies, in between. All of my pets have this problem. I usually use my top 5 tanks, gurreck (lvl50), Toxic Merek Battlelord(lvl50), mature hanadaks(lvl31), Other varieities of mereks (cavern creeper (lvl40), delirious avenger, etc). But even the mountain krevol that I tamed on Naboo does it (lvl 10 or 15). All of my pets are from the wild, none of that BE crap for me. Where's the skill in that?
b) All pets flee from battle at least 90% of the time. See above list for animal types.
c) The range attacks have stopped working altogether on my mereks. The special 1 and 2 seem to be randomly working. Before the patch, I know lots of people had problems with the specials and the range attack, but my mereks almost always worked when I ordered them. Now, very rarely does any of the 3 work. I've tried it on pretty much all varieties of merek that can be tamed. TMB, CC, Assassin, Blood stained, etc....
I started grinding CH about 3 weeks ago and everything whent fine until the new patch came along.
Now i got a bunch of retarts.
they love me so much they always come and stand on top of me, they wont come when you command them and they run away screaming like baby's.
Or another fun one they simply autostore ( AAAAAAAArgh )
i hope this gets fixed soon ( or i'm going to dropkick mi computer one of these days )
1. I love my pets but they have become too effectionate. They all tend to stand grouped together and right where I decide to stop. Its not so bad if they are small but try and look around with a full grown GM or Crazed Bolma.
2. It seems to be all my pets but the worst are GM - CL35 ; Crazed Bolma - CL45
3. All my wpets tamed from the wild
2: all lvl and all type of pets either lvl 10 rancor or a grown one, lvl 37 Blurrg (BE) or lvl 50 Blurrg (wild)
3: no matter whether wild or BE - they run and run and run and ...
it might be a general issue with pathing but i have no major problems with the pets following me when not fighting.
depending on where you hunt it might occur that pets run from a fight more often on flat grasslands like on Corelia or on hills and mountains/canyons like on Dathomir.
it could be an illusion (?) but i've kinda figured that there's less running when 2 pets are out. if there's a third called it would look for trouble elsewhere than where it is supposed to do.
as a temporary solution (until it might get fixed) to keep pets outta your field of view i'd suggest to use the formation commands.
if your creature pet doesn't have any of these just ask your neighborhood CH to teach them. there're lots of CH who don't charge for teaching so don't hesitate.
My CL52 BE Blurrg runs like mad as soon as I issue my special attack macros which consist of
/alias a1; /tellpet stalk; /echo Pet has engaged; /tellpet a1
Where "stalk" is the command to "Follow Other" and "a1" is the command to perform special attack 1. I use the alias to issue the command by typing "/a1".
While attempting to train a mount for someone, non-CH (wild) carrion spat, I could not transfer a pet to him to make room in my datapad (Wild CL8 Shear Mite Broodling). Kept getting the message that the player had too many pets. He only had 1 non-CH pet (the spat) in his datapad, and a swoop bike. Both of them were stored at the time. I tried using the secure trade window, and the transfer command.
I have my max pets, but wasn't trying to exchange the pets via the trade window, just send itdirectly to him.
A few minutes later, his friend (non-CH) showed up and transferred an already mounted Carrion Spat to him.
