Thread: IC4: Path of the Jedi
SWG is deficient in content and extreemly deficient in group oriented content even a year after release. I hope this is not something that gets left out of the Jedi Experience.
The mere concepts has destroyed the game. In Gorath i can sometimes go to a buff line and see TWO JEDI'S...then i hear jedis in the back round killing someone in three seconds....I have a feeling Gorath will just be demolished by the new publish 10.....How many people do you think are going to go do those quests....hmmmmm...EVERYONE....it will be hologrinding all over....No one will be there to build you a house.....Buff you....even Dance for you....what has our Star Wars galaxies coem too......I think they need to reinstate Perma-Death....and if the people who die and cant except whine and say I QUIT.....like 5 year kids who keep getting frozen in freeze tag...then fine...lets them quit....there will still be about hundreds of thousands of players there.....i dont even like the concept of jedi in the game at all.....It should be all NPC. Anyone in agree with my point?
Right now, people are dependant to find a holocron to tell them which professions to master. What this means is that those who know where the holocron can be found can easily tell others, or even sell the location, to friends or people with lots of money. This is a serious problem and is a threat to the games health. What I propose is in line with the upcoming jedi revamp for publish 10, whereby you complete a quest to become a jedi. However the problem I see with this is that now instead of having only a select group of people with jedi powers, you have a whole server full of them. There should be a risk involved in becoming a jedi, and therefore, I propose the following:
You talk to a publically known jedi character. His location is not secret, therefore preventing the "elite" peoplefrom finding the location and keeping it to their friends. However, to get tothis special jedi character would bevery difficult. Now, in order to find him, you can go with a group, however once you do find him, you are no longer protected. What he does is if you accept his challenge, you go through the "trials" which is a quest that is in a specialroom that only you can access at that time. While in here, you will be asked to kill a number of difficultcreatures and preform a series of mental tasks that, if failed, will cause your mind to bedrained with each wrong answer.A way to prevent one profession from being overpowered when it comes to the trial, and therefore causing a flock, would be tomake it different for each person. Sounds easy right? What's the catch? Well, if you die during the trials, it's PD - Permadeath - your character is gone. You begin to wonder how many people would still be interested in taking the trials if when they die they would lose their character forever?
