Thread: Producer's State of the Game Letter April 27, 2004

Why is the Tailor professioncompletely ignored in this "state of the game" message? We've got major bugs which havent been fixed since day, and the content added was very very far from what was asked for.

I want to see at least one thing they're going to add for tailors before 2005, the whole thing makes me sick that they're ignoring an entire community. I wonder how many tailors will be left in the game before they actually decide to look at the profession and what it needs. I feel like we've been treated with no respect since my time playing, why did they make the profession part of the game if they were going to ignore everything about it?

with so many MMOs coming out this game better start fixing stuff soon or competition will take a lot of people away.

I don't really need to transfer any characters but can not help being fascinated by the possibility. Have to see that when it comes out.

All development of new content should cease until the rebalancing and bug fixing has been done. If professions that clearly need attention are ignored they should be removed. Fix them or remove them. Ranger for instance has the following:

Mask scent--bugged/broken

Camoflage--bugged/broken

Areatrack--bugged/broken

Camping--bugged/broken

trapping--bugged/broken

creature harvesting--replaced with droids

forage--useless except for fishing bait

terrain navigation--One thing works Yeah

We all need to unit here. No your correspondant can't help you, they have no clout as is obvious. The ranger forum has been asking for quite sometime to have Thunderheart pay a visit to the board and open up some dialogue. To this date that still has not occured. Nice "warm fuzzies" have achieved nothing either. Many of us welcome any who would like to come to our boards to discuss these issues. Please use the thread entitled "Rangers are useless--Chefs agree"

Thank you

Aries_liak,

In the Real World - as you mentioned it - a trained swordsman facing a pistol wielding soldier will kill the soldier EVERY TIME. It's a fact. It is part of every military's training that if a knife/sword wielding foe comes closer to you than 1-2 meters and you're still pulling your gun out of the holster then you're pretty much DEAD.

Just want to say grats on the economy system Raph. I just got done reading your economy publication on the site.

It's good to know that the game economy can be replicated to be like a real world economy, mainly because I am doing my Master's thesis based off of how using real world problems to teach mathematics is more applicable to life than the traditional way mathematics is taught in the U.S.

Well anyway, thanks for the post, gives me more validation for what i'm doing.

W.TF did I get one-starred for this?

what do you propose? that to fly a ship you have to drop all your other skills? that's @#$%ing retarded........... as the guy before me mentioned it takes almost all of one's SPs to master BH............ tell me how much sense will it make to not let BHs pilot any ships?

The one-star bandit was probably some 12 year old newbie kid who doesn't understand the game mechanics - nor can search on his own on what the Devs have mentioned.

They've said for the Space Expansion there WILL be seperate points for the new professions - or possibly more skill points. We would only get them if/when we buy the expansion. So people who don't, their loss.

SOE will not allow people who don't shell out more money for the expansion to reap it's benefits. It's the way they worked with Everquest, and it is most definitly the way it'll work with SWG.

I personally hope that they continue to at least work that way, as it makes no sense for people who don't buy the expansion to be able to access it's benefits.

all these upcoming changes, and you still refuse to fix CH to be the slightest bit useful. I keep master CH, because it is what i wanted since i started playing on launch day, yet i really have no use for it much. PvP with pets is currently a joke. Taming pets is now just a way to pass the time, and i won't use BE pets (execpt for the rare time i want to try and tame some rares), because as a MASTER CREATURE HANDLER, i should be able to tame the most vicious creatures in the galaxy, not hand 70 billion credits to Joe Bio and get a 12k ham durni... its sad what you have done to CH, and the worst part is, you just act like nothing happened.

just admit you made a mistake for once
