Thread: Producer's State of the Game Letter April 27, 2004
All development of new content should cease until the rebalancing and bug fixing has been done. If professions that clearly need attention are ignored they should be removed. Fix them or remove them. Ranger for instance has the following:
Mask scent--bugged/broken
Camoflage--bugged/broken
Areatrack--bugged/broken
Camping--bugged/broken
trapping--bugged/broken
creature harvesting--replaced with droids
forage--useless except for fishing bait
terrain navigation--One thing works Yeah
We all need to unit here. No your correspondant can't help you, they have no clout as is obvious. The ranger forum has been asking for quite sometime to have Thunderheart pay a visit to the board and open up some dialogue. To this date that still has not occured. Nice "warm fuzzies" have achieved nothing either. Many of us welcome any who would like to come to our boards to discuss these issues. Please use the thread entitled "Rangers are useless--Chefs agree"
Thank you
Serraphin
awesome announcment... i look forward to all of the release!!!
I'm glad i've stuck it out so long :-)
Aries_liak,
In the Real World - as you mentioned it - a trained swordsman facing a pistol wielding soldier will kill the soldier EVERY TIME. It's a fact. It is part of every military's training that if a knife/sword wielding foe comes closer to you than 1-2 meters and you're still pulling your gun out of the holster then you're pretty much DEAD.
Just my 2 cr...

W.TF did I get one-starred for this?
what do you propose? that to fly a ship you have to drop all your other skills? that's @#$%ing retarded........... as the guy before me mentioned it takes almost all of one's SPs to master BH............ tell me how much sense will it make to not let BHs pilot any ships?
The one-star bandit was probably some 12 year old newbie kid who doesn't understand the game mechanics - nor can search on his own on what the Devs have mentioned.
They've said for the Space Expansion there WILL be seperate points for the new professions - or possibly more skill points. We would only get them if/when we buy the expansion. So people who don't, their loss.
SOE will not allow people who don't shell out more money for the expansion to reap it's benefits. It's the way they worked with Everquest, and it is most definitly the way it'll work with SWG.
I personally hope that they continue to at least work that way, as it makes no sense for people who don't buy the expansion to be able to access it's benefits.
