We have made a decision to address major combat issues only and not do the full combat balance at this time. After the Crafting Experimentation experience, we realized that we need to spend more time than a single publish to truly accomplish our goal, which is to make combat fun and engaging. To have the depth to combat that I think everyone wants in the system we want get much more player feedback and balance on these types of things. We will be developing the Combat Balance separately in a Sandbox over a long period of time, with plenty of Test Center and correspondent participation. We will release this one when it is ready... and not before.

Roger that. I'll check back inSeptember to see if things are any closer to beingbalanced - maybe.

First, thank you for going out on a limb and giving us an outline of what the future holds. There has been many well written posts both pro and con. Of course you're going to get the ones that think shouting "I quit..I cancel..Or throws in an upcoming beta game" is going to get them their way first but instead gets them ignored by all.

Every profession has things it wants done. Every profession has bugs that need fixing. Every mmorpg has the same problems just in different words but basics are the same. Not saying at all that you shouldn't post your concerns both pro and con..saying a constructive post will get noticed way before the silly ones.

I still believe they are trying hard to work it out , as developers want this to be the best game ever..afterall , their reputations are at stake and future employment

My personal opinion is they are trying to fix too much for big patches. Instead, concentrate on a couple of fixes or even one bug a day. At one bug a day, would be much easier to recognize conflicts with other gameplay and much easier to repair again. Same with adding new content...do content smaller amount at a time. Sure you will get certain people who will shout each new little patch that it wasn't something for them but after a bit if done fairly with spread out evenly to each profession , eventually they will see the pattern is consistent. I firmly believe the problem lies in the big patches...making the waits too long and possible problems too big.

I would hope there were two seperate teams for bug fixes and new content developers but it doesn't sound like it (could be wrong). I think in the long run would be in SOE best interests to open the wallet and hire some more developers atleast temporarily to work on the bug issues that have been a problem..some since launch. Sometimes a new set of eyes can see something new.

So no combat revamp? Can you at least put in some temporary fixes for commando and all the other broken combat classes?

Like adding armour piercing to the HAR and flamer, or givingus a weapon we canuse in pvp. Maybe taking away the stupid defense modifier forusing a ranged weapon. There is already a glut of melee characters and now you want to give them a damage BONUS?It sucks not being able to pvp because my chosen class only has one weapon, which happens to do less damage than not having a weapon at all.

Just sucks the fun right out of the game.

Nice to know the game plan. It is appreciated.

I would like to suggest that you will get a good response if you put someone on all the annoying stupid little bugs that have been in the game. If you allocated one person a couple of weeks of time, these annoying bugs could probably finally be fixed.

I'm talking about bugs that every person sees almost every day -- things like:

1) Having to close multiple blank 'compose message' windows after sending an in-game e-mail

2) Bazaar browsing/sorting is still not working properly

3) Bazaar columns widths still do not save and have to be reset every time you enter the game

4) Server prediction still causes you to be 'thrown ahead' when you dismount your vehicle even if you come to a complete stop first.

5) etc.

Thanks for listening,

Cresto

P.S. Also, seems to me like the profession bugs should be fixed before the Jedi revamp. Make the Jedi 'playable', but fix everyone else a bit too, before spending huge amounts of time on Jedi quest coding.

Help me Understand something TH and pass this to JUSTG please:

You guys DON'T want jedi to be the most powerful profession in the game?

Please, enlighten me on which profession you guys think, and can actually get lucasarts to agree, should be more powerful than jedi.

"Social Adventure" Opens

This will mostly be a non-combat adventure, targeting Entertainers, Dancers, Musicians, Image Designers and fast-talking Smugglers... perhaps set in the Hutt Casino. Loot will be new songs, dances, etc.

Please tell me you "forgot" to include Crafters in there? Please? Pretty Please? With Carbosyrup on top?

Awesome! Can't wait to see the Jedi in it. Jedi in Mandalorian Armor makes so much sense! It would be perfect for this time line! Awesome. Vomit Inducing garbage

Grow a set a post why you are deleting my post. I was begining to think I was in the minorty, but it looks like all the negative posts are being deleted. Therefore someone, don't know who, is trying to keep the responses positive. Please explain yourself.

Very informative, please flesh out the particulars of these changes as SOON as they are carved in something not water soluble.

I assume that the current FS unlocking system will remain active until Publish 10? Or at least as active as it has been since Publish 6. I again ask you to keep the grind system in place for already created characters. It is not good business to make your customers which actually believed you look stupid.

Of course, TechBoss, this doesn't address the obvious point that some little fanboi is onestarring posts that dare to take the devs to task for the outright abandonment of the four phase plan to revamp combat. Now that 2 or so phases are out of the way, and the third is pretty much set to go, the fourth one...the one that would have probably nerfed the hell out of the new tank classes and brought them in line with everything else that has been nerfed...will be postponed indefinitely.

So now those who have the right template will continue to effortlessly take on red con mobs without fear of having to lower themselves into joining a group.

I think only master bounty hunters should even be able to quest for the armor. I think the pursuit of the armor should be an epic quest, much harder and longer than any of the theme parks to date. I think the pieces of armor should be treated like a light saber, meaning, it cannot be place on vendors, dropped in houses or placed on bazaars, only Master Bounty Hunters should be able to possess it's pieces. Also, I think there should be another condition even for the MBH. Maybe a certain number of marks killed, or a certain amount of money made through BH missions, or some other thing. The more conditions placed on possessing it the less common it will be.

I agree with the staement fomr Radiant on the issue minus the no selling part.
if you want to hang it on your wall, fine your loss. i don't wanna see anyone wearing the armor in th 1st place, unless there are less than a handful of you.

this devs. what you do here today does decide what i do with me money, not trying to be a **edit** (right now) but dno't **edit** it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
