Ever notice a lot of Dev threads get started around quitting-time on fridays? Five or six pages of responses get generated over the weekend without a dev reply, and that gets irritating from a player perspective. If the devs are going to ask us questions, and many of us jump at the chance to speak to what appears to be a "live body", we'd appreciate a little evidence that the message was received. JustG will be sitting at his desk tomorrow flipping through some of these responses I'm sure. His eyes will probably glaze over about a third of the way through, he'll go grab some lunch, and promptly forget about responding to any of it. Can't say I blame him some of the time. Others though.. well thought-out responses, even the ones that ARE full of pi** and vinegar but have valid concerns and offer some constructive response.. when those go unanswered, it makes me angry. Can't expect them to respond to EVERYthing, but a little more visibility can't hurt.

Show us our concerns are at least being heard. Thunderheart, bless the man, he tries. He tells us he'll bring things up in meetings. That's great, but I can only imagine how thick his stack of notes are for each of those meetings at this rate. Have you guys fed him since the superbowl? We need three or four of him. One to take the notes, one to give us the "I'll bring it up at the next meeting" lip-service, one to go to the meetings, and the fourth one.. this guy's key, the fourth one gets to tell us what actually HAPPENED in the meeting. That fourth TH has been missing for a long time.

Exactly what I have been saying for a few months... TH has too many "hats" to wear, and the lack of Dev communication on the weekends, when most players play the most is disheartening. Case in point... this past weekend... not a SINGLE Dev post on Saturday or Sunday.

I too have had a post deleted that mentioned WoW and critized the DEVs for the priorities. Is this going to be the new operating proceedure for the forums? Post something about a competitors game and get it deleted. Post something about how stupid the DEVs are and the post gets deleted.

Are the DEVs or forum admins so thin skinned that they cannot take negative feedback, even when that feedback represents the majority of the community?

Obviously yes they are. Although I doubt it has anything to do with being tight skinned but rather the grand strategy behind all this.

Who the keeps deleting my posts?

Grow a set a post why you are deleting my post. I was begining to think I was in the minorty, but it looks like all the negative posts are being deleted. Therefore someone, don't know who, is trying to keep the responses positive. Please explain yourself.

Has been like that all time. Shows you how much they care about you when you don't function as a happy fanboy.

I enjoyed reading the letter.

Corellian Corvette Opens
>> Sounds really fun, and the idea of instanced areas is great.

Publish 8 (Droids Rebuilt)
Image Designer Enhancements
>> This is really needed and shows somewhat that you take everyone seriously. The IDs are hardly loudmouthed yet you do this.

Fix PSG's with Random stats
>> Imo, this should have been done a long time ago but it's good that it's being done now. I hope this also goes for tantel and ris?

Revise Starport Routes/ Lower Shuttle times
>> Sweet! A good example of where fun factor should come first.

_________________________
We have made a decision to address major combat issues only and not do the full combat balance at this time (...) We will release this one when it is ready... and not before.
>> I think it's good that you take your time here. Let it stay on TC as long as it takes to get it right.
-----> Please make it possible by then to copy our mains to TC as this will need as many people as possible to balance.

Death Watch Hideout Opens
>> Sounds fun.
_________________________

Smuggler revamp
>> Smuggler is imo the most broken prof ingame since it promises so much but delivers almost nothing. I think it's different from the way ie pikeman is broken because Smuggler is so much more than a couple of special attacks. It's good that this revamp comes now but it should have come earlier.

__________________________

"Social Adventure" Opens
>> Please have crafters a part of this. Otherwise a good thing.
______________________________

Star Destroyer Opens
>> Sounds even better than the Mandalorian adventure.

______________________________

GCW Revamp
>> Take your time. This is so important for many players and could be for everyone if it's done right. If you can accomplish a cgw where everyone (not just the jawa wielding ones ) can play a role, that would be something amazing.

Merchant Vendors Revamp
>> Please be hard here. Listen to the merchants and fix the bug that lets everyone and their mothers be merchants. If you do this revamp, do it big. Make merchant a prof that matters.

Now Honestly lets look at this thing from a "what has been done so far" point of view.

Every time you get a good idea or go into a direction that looks right for the game, You nerf it based on about 20 people's bitching sessions.

Before you produce any more upgrades, expansions, or hell anything for swg try to grow some real gahones,

Alot of talk and very little action is bad.

Alot of talk and work and then pulling it back is worse.

The Great Imperial crackdown has been nicknamed the Gimperial crackdealer. No need to worry, it rarely shows up and then you havea great chance it wont effect you. I walked into an imperial static base on lok for peets sake in full sliced armor with 6 sliced guns and cover rebel. Nothing. Now i go take a wee while zoning into theed and get whacked by the time i come back.

Your heavy faith in pvp has gone to the dogs, Most pvp is really crappy, apperantly people use some type of exploit to battle someone elses exploit and the people in pvp, Only rarely do i meet anyone worth of salt who is Fun to pvp with or against. Traditionaly it's some leet kitty who things he has it all down pat and is glad he whacked the surveyor master.

The Droid invasion, Now that is a crime. Lets take R3 droids and let them have shock. THATS your great droid invasion? Hell i saw a screen shot of combat droids.. but they arent in the game. How can that be a player screen shot man?

A few things that have worked for MMORPG's

Looks are everything, Now this might seem shallow but having looks fade or vanish or the hard worked orchestration of anything that is physicaly representative like armor sudenly vanish is not good. Build some type of layered maintenance players can do without worrying about destruction. and then add a better version such as upgrades implants modules and module upgrades for armor/weapon/architect/droidengineer/bioengineer to do. Hell you can add Doctor surgical implants for players as well, For instance;

A doc gets the ability to change your personal light color.

This requires a hospital (public hospitals in static cities cannot be used for this type of cosmetic surgury.)/Architect builds it.

This requires a surgical unit (bed with interfaces.) /Droid engineer modules/Architect furnature.

Then you have the doctors skill, This gives him certain color choices to choose from. Including how bright the light can be .

There you have it, one simple idea that uses 3 different proffessions easly. and The players will enjoy it without upsetting game balance.

Now i have a TON of other such subtle ideas with surgery that would allow many to enjoy.

Another piece,

Interface help, Include extra features to users interface as modules in armor or implants that help increase the players abilities based on skill level. For instance battle watch (just a name) this allows a Squad leader using a helmet with battle watch to power up his combat interface and get a birdseye vew of the combat arena.. as well as draw plans or give orders based on this interface option, Now how many options he has would be based on skill level and implant. These helmets have all kinds of wonderfull looking gadgets that dont do anything. Again looks are important. You could have physical stat augmentation or movement augmentation based on some type of chemical reserve that is filled with chef and bio engineer made chemical modules.

Also if we have powered gadgets in this armor, why not make it use special artisian made power cells, They take radioactive power put it into a refinement machine and make special power modules for houses (lighting entertainment devices halo-vision. Something that gives the idea of having a house importance) You'd be surprised how fun that can be.

But come on guys, Dont pull things that just come out. and try to add spice. Be your own beast. If the idea is going to work it will work if not give it time to fail. I am tired of drinking your watered down idea's give em to use strait up with a twist of lemon. !

All the people saying they aren't being addressed through Publish 11...remember how each minipublish says 'Content TBD'? Well, I bet they deciding who is most broken. Remember, ID addons are all in a minipublish. and blancing HAM costs is hardly something that would need to be a major publish feature. Although Commando Raid! does have a catchy sound..toss in some good weapons, some new armor, and a dugeon themed for heavy assault types, and you got a great commando publish. And no, I'm not a commando. i'm a DE/Pistoleer/Doctor/Arch...well I done about everything BUT commando. lol..

No I don't have a freakin sig. Just make something up and pretend it's here man. woman. umm...Whatever.

Given the agenda for the publishes as Just G has it down now, I have some comments:

Does he or the Dev staff realize that according to this schedule it will have been a YEAR if not longer since they promised Rangers new camps, traps, the specific /track command and other things?

Greenmarine, the Dev who was in charge of Rangers was pulled to do Player Cities and Mounts as we understand it, and NOTHING, has been heard since. Our camps are now useless as of the last patch with sole exception perhaps being healing. There have been roughly 7 Dev posts in the Ranger forum since Holo or Q mentioned that these things were being worked on for us. Seven.

Now according to Just G, the Ranger community will be lucky to get a passing a glance until well after the Space Expansion. Does anyone really believe once the Space Expansion is launched the Dev team will have time for Rangers? (among other profs?) Somehow I don't think so.

The Rangers would like some answers please.

I count myself in the masses that was eagerly awaiting the combat balance. Now that it's not coming in the forseeable future I'm VERY concerned. This was supposed to be a panacea that cleaned up dozens on correnspondent issues and leveled the playing field for many professions. We were supposed to see an end to the same combat template dominating in PvP. What of all the top 10 questions that were answered with "Wait for the combat balance" ?

What are we supposed to do now?

Unless the most recent publish fixed it, even as a master artisan I cannot color droids.

Second, even tho I am neither a hardcore gamer nor an uber pvp'er my recommendation is that SoE expedite the GCW and combat balancing ahead of the content and adventure publishing.

If my 'type' of players want the content and adventure, they need to pipe up, after all, squeeky wheel get the kick!
