i love this new publish. this jedi tracking is the best thing to happen to my character. i have had some good times hunting over the last couple a days. last night it was working very well for me. i logged, got a mission right away and he was online! (you gotta love these players who actually play.) anyway, the tracking once again was flawless and i found him hunting with a jedi buddy, and they were both dark. at least one of them had the title, but both were imps anyway, same as me. this time my target was actually red so i blasted away at him. the other one couldn't help at all, and i proceeded to take dark adept #1 down. the story ends with me pulling out hairs as i run out of pool points when he's down to like 10 mind. he ends up incapping me, but when i clone i still had the mission!cheers for the bugs that work in my favor! i go back and get killed by a rancor nearby. dath is a hard and easyplanet to hunt jedi on, especially since they are usually hunting big, tough beasts that will aggro on you too. they are pretty easy to find tho.

conclusion #1: a bh these days has no time for getting buffed when the jedi missions are few and far between with heavy competition. you gotta get there fast. it's so fun. i have figured out a new tactic tho, andi'll be getting to them first if it keeps working.

thanks for this awesome publish.

I welcomed the patch and Im a jedi, the thought of being hunted is great but the clone camping and the group tef stuff is completely wrong and needs to be adressed. I personally feel the saber tef is a bad thing but is needed to keep the cities free from little kids running around with sabers. I suggest making saber tef only while in cities and not player cities or wild. Do away with the group tef and make it a BH vs Jedi only fight. My freind was killed last night by a TKM and a Rifleman just surfing endor looking for jedi. I dont think thats the way its supposed to be. Im one of the jedi that will play even though this crap is going on but I wont for much longer. The only reason I have hung around this long is because of my jedi chracter. If it gets to the point that I cant play him I will just cancel and unfortunately its getting to that point. Im very dissapointed in the lack of communication form the devs. If this is how sony online treats its customers I doubt i will buy another sony game. We are customers first and gamers second thats the way it should be veiwed. I really hope you Devs understand the need for action on this in a timely manner.

Kettemoor, only seen one mission since patch (5-7 that I know of totall), it worked OK. I could track, but once there the jedi was not TEF to me. He went LD for a sec, once loaded back in, was TEF and opened up. I did not get to DB'em so I cant comment on pay/xp.

I'm just not see'n hardly ANY missions on the terms, the last few days have bassically consisted of me sit'n infront of BH terms.

My 2nd Jedi Mission did not work. Everything worked up until the point I found my mark. The mark was not attackable. I asked for a duel instead. When the Jedi incap'd me, I got a message (and so did the Jedi) that the mission was failed.

I have not been able to get a single mission. If the reports of there being over 300 jedi per server are true, then there should be at least one or two available at all times. I think that visibility may need an increase.

to all the jedi saying "get rid of bh exploits for the missions" well do you notice how 90% of the people here are complaining their seekers said the jedi wasn't online? is that maybe cause the JEDI used an EXPLOIT?! hrmmm........ yes and many of them know exactly what their doing, remember jedi most of you are not honorable either, 99% of the jedi used every exploit and bug they could find to their advantage in gaining their FS slot not to mention the macros, the simple fact is the only ppl who should be allowed FS slots is people who have never used any sort of macro. also jedi hush up the fingerpointing when obviously the majority of the exploiting is coming from your side. also be glad you don't have permadeath cause most of you would be blue glowies by now so hush

that image is a jedi hiding in the middle of the lake for 20 minutes or so. every BH that got the mission eventually found him sitting still. how does that sicken you? it sure sickens me that jedi can hide in the lake, but what are ya gonna do? oh yeah, you guys will just make a fantastic story that the BH all want to clone camp him. and pray that your paranoia works out in scaring the devs. anyone have ONE picture of a clone camping? with the thousands of jedi that this has happened to you would think that there would be one picture.

Hello,

I have now sent 2 bug reports and 2 CSR tickets and have not heard back over the course of the week. As a result, I am attempting to capture a developer or whomever may be able to rectify the situation. I have takena screenshot of my second csr ticket.

Well seems everyone is complaining on both sides of the spectrum. No equal ground for anyone and we'll it's kinda too late for that. You have both honorable and dishonorable players. Jedi players are complaining about their views and Bounty Hunters on their's. And all we have are threads that seem to go on with out a response.

On the ground level we know that before the game was even released the Devs made it very clear that trying out for Jedi wasn't going to be easy. In fact they said it was going to very very difficult. So I don't know why there is even a challenge of complaint on that. So everytime I read a feedback on here from some Jedi about this or that it makes me sick on how much players are whining so that the Devs can basically give them a Jedi out of the box. YOU KNEW IT WASN'T GOING TO BE EASY SO STOP TRYING TO BEND THE DEVS ARMS TO GIVE YOU EVERYTHING. Now I read Jedi players complaing about the BH missions. Why?! It's part of the story. Get over it. Anyone who has a BH knows that once you Master it there isn't anything else you do with the character except Terminal missions. They don't craft they don't heal they don't make pets and the list goes on. So stop complaing about giving the BH what they do, Bounties. And as far as people complaing that they worked oh so hard to get the FSCS, hey no one forced you to go after it. You free-willingly went after it and knew the path so don't complain now that you got it and had to work hard for it. They promised a FSCS not Master Jedi Status.

Now I'm not saying this to discourage anyone (too late) but I believe people need to stop whining and complaining and add some creative and constructive criticism to help the Devs out and get players motivated to play. Who here loves to go to work and have people yelling down their throats and making threats and you think to yourself, "Oh I love this! I can't wait to wake up in the morning for all that and give it my all so they can walk all over me!" No one does so chill out. The system isn't perfect and when you have people going in different directions it's hard to make everyone happy. Everyone is hacking up threats and complaints on how the system should be and making accusations like they are Devs themselves. If you have such great ideas and know how to make the game so perfect how come I don't see your game on the market?! Why not stop complaining, make your own version of SWG with out errors, bugs, crashes and a perfect program and introduce it to SOE/Lucas Arts. And make sure it's perfect cause if it isn't or you can't make one, you're a hypocrite! Again just chill out.

Now for my input which probably at this point wont matter to those sensitive people who only want to be right and not open-minded and patient.

1- I completely disagree with the whole camping out in the Clone Facility. Come on, that's weak. Yes after working many hours on the FSCS the last thing one needs is a hoard of people waiting around a Clone Fac for you like a bunch of horny teens crowding arounda nudy bar. Devs definitely need to work on this. Just like FS Characters need to stop cheating as well. Logging in and logging out doesn't make the game any fun either. So basically everyone is at a stalemate until something is done. I think that Jedi hunting missions should only go to Master BH. After all that work I think it's a great reward for those who Mastered the profession. And that only they can kill the Jedi Mark. Not Tom, **edit** & Harry the MCH, MA and BE. Also I believe to release some of the tension of the Jedi Griefing, put other player bounties on there. Like on other people who kill Jedi's. Or Player Bounties set up by Players. This way the BH have more of a variety and stop aiming solely on Jedi. Gives the Jedi more reason to play and not be the only target.

2- Also as far as Jedi losing skills well I think only MBH should have the ability of doing this. Gives the BH a reason to hunt Jedi and Jedi more of a chance at surviving their skill slots. Who wants to play a Jedi when everyone and their mother is out camping in front of their homes?! When you give a player a reason to play their Jedi character since they aren't the only target to a Mob they feel more confident and can actually have fun doing it. It's sad to go to the Terminals and there are no Jedi. Why? Cause they are tired of Griefing! If they had a fair chance of dying just once per Hunt then I think they would honorably play their characters and BH Combats. I don't want someone taking my Marks away because they can't do it themselves and camp out at Cloning Centers.

Plus if I can hunt other people, freak that would be so much more fun than just 1 choice. I don't mind killing Jedi but I don't want that being my only choice. I think it would be fun to set up other BH to get hunted as well as players. Test out other people's skills. Heck I suck at PvP so I would be an easy target but I don't care cause it's fun! And regulate the Jedi or Player BH missions. Make them remote like Jabba's palaceonly so the BH have to travel and give it a SW feel. Not just any terminal. Make my Profession more interesting. Also give those Jedi and Players rewards for defending themselves. I don't want anyone who defended themselves against me just sighing after the battle is done. Heck even make the losing BH a bounty because they failed to complete their Employers Request. Everyone knows there is always a bigger fish. I want to look over my shoulder too.

And if the Jedi are camping out in their homes, I mean really, what is stopping the BH or anyone from going in. Make it so a BH with a specific Mark needs a Smuggler to make a specific key so they can enter the home just for the kill and nothing more. Or the smuggler has to join the group so it becomes a group effort to slice the door but the smuggler can't attack the Jedi or Mark. Heck even let the Mark hit the Smuggler for breaking in. lol. I don't know how this would work but it sure beats the macroing effect.

You guys have brains so think about how this could add flavor. Think of things for the Devs to ponder on and say, "Not a bad idea let's do it." You want more SW feel? Give them ideas not Grief!

Sorry if I annoyed anyone but I just love this game and the people who play it. You guys make it fun but not when you're whining.

I have sucessfully tracked 7 Jedi so far. Here are the results from some of them. I am 3,4,4,0 working toward master, also have Ranger player tracking. I am neutral at the moment but normally rebel.

1. Patch Day, got a mission on a jedi and was not prepared, not buffed or anything, just wanted to test the droid tracking. Took the mission in Coronet, flew to Kaadara to get bio signature and launch droid. Tracking results only took about a minute and a half to come back. Mark was on Corellia of all places. Flew to Coronet and launched a seeker and the mark was at the Rebel / Imperial Spawn northeast of Coronet. Took a shuttle to a player city near by and headed for the mark, the seeker was still tracking. Found the Jedi within 100m of the waypoint still at the spawn site and I could target and attack the player, did not however as I said this was just to test tracking.Total time from getting the mission to finding the player was about 20 minutes at the most.

2. Took a mission from Kaadara. Shortly after getting the mission the player went offline and did not come back on for several hours, I kept the mission anyway, having heard about the offline tracking bug. Note: This player was actually Offline and not just getting the bugged droid message.

Once the player came online hours laterI immediately launched my droid and it did track the player to Dathomir. The mark was in the vicinity of the Sarrlac Pit and the usual rancor spawns in that area. Found the player surprisingly quick, seeker time was only about 1 minute for first waypoint on Dath. Once I arrived in the area I found the player with two others. I was NOT able to target or attack this player even though I had the mission.

I sent a /tell asking if he was light or dark to try to figure out reasons for not being able to attack. It took a little convincing that I did infact have a mission on him and did infact track him as he had only been on about 20 minutes when I found him. He was very nice after that and we did a little testing to determine how the offline tracking bug worked, which was submitted in bug reports. I will not say how it works but I will say it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Jedi being AFK.

3. Took a mission from Kaadar and tracked the player to Tatooine. Found the player outside Bestine on the roof of a medium house using Force Knockdown on a player AFK. I was able to target the player but could not attack because he was on the roof. Contacted a CSR in the Launchpad chat and they had a CSR on scene in game a few minutes later. The CSR was inside the house out of sight but I knew he was there because I could track him with Ranger player tracking. The player stopped doing what he was doing a few minutes later and was talking to the CSR for a long time. He was told by the CSR it was against the rules and to stop. The player would not come down from the house to there was nothing I could do in this situation but abort.

4. Took a mission on a member of a large guild. Found the player fairly quick on Dathomir at the Nightsister Stronghold. He was grouped with about 15-20 players. I was NOT able to target or attack this Jedi. Shortly after finding him the player went offline by my Friendslist and came back online less than a minute later. After that my droids would not track the player.

I submitted a ticket on the player for exploiting the offline tracking bug. I contacted the player to inform him that he was being reported for exploiting. His response... I switched to my main character to trade stuff to another player. Well his statement only proves the player was exploiting the bug because it is physically impossible to logout the jedi, login the main character, do a trade, logout the main character, and login the Jedi in the time the player was offline.

Conclusions:

The offline tracking bug can be done intentionally and again it has nothing to do with being AFK. The only players showing up on the BH terminals on my server now are those players that hunt with large groups making it impossible to attack them without a small army, and those players that are intentionally exploiting the offline tracking bug. You can tell this as the player will go off and online repeatedly over the time they are online playing.

Otherwise player tracking is working and quite fast I must say.

morebug reports:

1. i've experienced a wp that led to nothing, continued to report the same location, and after another droid was sent out it still came back as the wp. this wp was the same for another bh i who had the same mission, and he had the same results as me. after a few more minutes the wp updated to a new loc over 3k meters away. it was at a starport, and after we got there (target gone of course) it still took some time and 2 droids to getthe new planet loc. maybe this isn't a bug, and granted, it wasn't very bad, but this information is good to get out there.

2. Target is tracked to a pa hall. he's there, but no tef. tef eventually appears, but then target cycles between invisible and back with tef again every so often. is this what happens when a jedi goes afk? seemed that way to me.

3. Target was force running foraround 30 minutes straight and the whole time was coming up as not online when a track was attempted. He was hard to keep up with for a group on speeders, and the dang droid wouldn't track.

mission completed/failed reports:

i've come to the conclusion that the mission stays until the jedi actually incaps me him/herself. if anything else does it, then the mission stays, even if the jedi performs the db. i imagine it's the same for the bh; he/she needs to perform the incap to complete the mission. if this is the way it's supposed to be, then i'd say it's working well. i actually like it this way as it encourages groups to stay out of the fight for the most part. yeah, i have only been fighting tough ones and haven't killed any yet. try fighting a guardian.

That's some good info Ghost. I'm sure the CSR and Devs are looking out for this now. I wouldn't be surprised if in the next patch they do something about the Rooftop and Login & Logout exploits. I hope they also take care of the Clon Camping one too.
