TH, I have a quick question: There is mention of lightsaber fighting styles, but nothing is said of what those styles are. I assume they mean single blade, double bladed, etc. However, will dual saber weilding be added as well? I know you already took some mokaps of duel weilding. I certainly hope we'll be seeing this, as it's very important to jedi continuity.
Other than that, may I say....

It looks like a beautiful system, and it was definitely worth the wait. Now I'm sure I'll be continuing my subscription for a long time to come.

Therefore the auctions for Crystalswill now reflect only demand, and not quality.Once a Jedi "tunes" a Crystal, he sees the damage and it now can ** only ** be used by him. Its value to anyone else is zero.I believe the Dev's intent in this approach is to reduce the price of Crystals.Any confirmation from the Dev team?Actually he DID say that the higher level NPCs would have better crystals... didn't he? So there must be some internal crystal rating, maybe that "crystal quality" will be seen by jedi, but its actual stats won't be rolled until it is tuned.
Hopefully a Jedi can "tune" a crystal in an interactive way. Let's say tune it for speed, or maybe for low force cost.. etc. One can hope!
Yes, I know it states that higher-level NPCs drop better crystals - I think that means that Jedi should pursue difficult NPCs to get the best quality Crystals. I agree with you there, but I stand by my interpretation (and I acknowledge I am making an inference) that Crystals will be will undistinguishable until "tuned" for the economic dynamic I describe above. Again, it would be helpful for the Devs to confirm this, as it may put to rest - to some degree, at least - the concerns about raising millions in credits to play a Jedi.
"Players who have not attempted the Jedi path will be able to go through The Jedi Trials in publish 10. Players who have completed many profession masteries will be ranked according to how many professions they have completed and based on that information, they will be able to rapidly advance through the "Jedi Trials". Existing Jedi will be transitioned into the new system in Publish 9: "Secrets of the Force". "
this may have been gone over many times and beaten like a rented mule.....
but to me, this states that i now have to unlock my jedi before publish 9, not publish 10.
so how does this work, i thought we had till patch 10.
this says in order to be transitioned into the new system i must unlock before this patch.
So, is there gonna be a complete freeze on unlocking between patch 9-10?
or will i be able to unlock in this time period, transitioned immediately, and with my second char. slot?
thanks

My God you guys have actually designed it the way everyone has been asking for and aspiring to. I'm impressed with how much SOE has improved over this year in design and release management of hotfixes and patches. Well done -- keep it up!!! /salute![]()
I could not have said it better...as frustrated as I get at times...this sums it up!
Long awaited are the Jedi robes! Gone will be the days of Jedi running about in armor. The Jedi robe will provide a hidden toughness value that will protect the Jedi similar to armor but provide more of a Jedi feel. These robes will be issued to you as you advance through the quests and throughout the Force Ranking system and each have their own look based on rank.

somepeople are deleteing messagesraising some very valid concerns about the new system
to put it delicately the new system is bantha *edit*
you mean that i have to *edit*-up my character in order to unlock the 2nd slot?! that's why i didn't do it until now in the first place, i liked my character the way it was
I see this as good to keep people from dabbling into Jedi and also good for RP. Remember Luke had to leave his farm life to pursue his Jedi path. You'll have to make tough choices.

Thunderheart i've read all the posts in this topic and the one question that really stands out is - WILL CRYSTALS AND PEARLS BE AQUIRED IN THE SAME WAY AS THEY ARE NOW?
No, but the design on how they will be dropping is happening as we speak, so I have no hints.
Q-Will sabers still do kinetic damage?
There is no mention of the saber damage type in this at all.
TH- Dont know. We're working to see whats possible.
and now to quote your answer to the last 19 questions-
Jedi
Lightsabers are the heart of the Jedi. Yet our sabers strangely deal universally, highly-resisted kinetic damage at only AP2, and even require incredibly rare Krayt Pearls or crystals which are impossible for Jedi to procure without switching to an alt character. Our weapons wear down quickly due to the incredible amount of XP we must earn, cost millions upon million to create, and are easily resisted by quality composite armor. Will lightsabers be revamped along with our profession and can you give us any details?
Yes, Lightsabers are being revamped along with the entire Jedi profession. The details on the lightsaber changes, along with Jedi revamp changes are going to be released as soon as possible with the laceName>JedilaceName> laceType>AcademylaceType> threads.
a bit contradictory? just a little? to say yes then say you dont know?
weve been asking for this since the first jedi unlocked and dueled someone with 90% base composite. not to say that lightsabers shouldnt be blocked by armor as this is unballancing, BUT i wouldnt expect a jawa rifle to easily outdamage a saber, thats a bit unballancing. lightsabers should be given their own damage type and there should be a way to layer the armors against it, but it shouldnt go any higher than stun, it should be lower, but stun protection at the best, so 37-39% lightsaber resists but its at the cost of stun protection, make the customer make a choice and it prevents people from resisting everything
PS- forums are still bugged, cant quote you directly, i get some kind of html error
