with the way swg is going i suspect that the dungeon will be instanced so worrying about campers should be a issue. I also think that the reward should be at the end of the dungeon - schematics for the complete suitand the leader of the group should get it. and then never be allowed in again as a group leader. would keep camping to a minimun (as in no camping at all ^_^)

Just one question (haven't read all 6 pages of posts yet)...

If you go with a cave format, how will you prevent campers, kill stealers and ninja looters from ruining this aspect for others who what to earn it?

Sounds like this could create yet another camping nightmare in game...We saw it happen with the Faction bases....we can see it in the Borgle Cave...you can see it at any cave/base location anywhere in the game where nice items drop...it frustrates and ruins the games for others...do you want to place such an item that a large number want (probably more folks want then any other item in game) in a place where camping and such will take place? This could end up being a CSR Nightmare...

Mandalorian is supposed to be lightsaber resistant correct?

Apparently not the part that connects the helmet to the chest plate...just as Jango...or his head on the ground...LOL

My concern is that SOE is going to bow down to the ever yipping BH contingent and make it BH only. Why would that be the case? It's worn by mercenaries and warriors--not exclusively Bounty Hunters!

Because if I see a Jedi running around in Mandalorian armor there is going to be hell to pay....MBH/Master Commando certseems fair to me....

What? How could a guy dressed in all but a full set of Mandalorian while wearing a chefs hat possibly look out of place?!?

No offense offended to all the "BH-Only" advocates, but making this a BH only armor seems ridiculous. Unless I'm mistaken (which is possible), the Mandalorians were soldiers and not BHs. That said, at least some other advanced combat classes besides BH should be able to wear it.

As someone who has both an armorsmith character and a combat character (commando), I agree that there should probably be armor certs. I also, however, don't think that most armor is overpriced. People expect to buy good armor, but until you actually become an armorsmith and see how hard it is to gather the good resources that are needed, you don't really know how much effort goes into making that armor. When I was just a commando I thought AS were overpriced moneygougers. Now that I have an AS character, I feel much more sympathetic.

First off, I'd like to thank you for giving such a detailed update on the status of Mandalorian Armor. Secondly, I'd like to share my point of view andI hope that I don't upset anyone in the process. *grins*

I'm not now or have ever been a Bounty Hunter... I feel that Mandalorian Armor should be a Master Bounty Hunter certification. After all, they have to grind through Investigation, not to mention the large skill point requirement for the profession. Allowing Armorsmiths to craft the set would be fine as long as the schematic/resources are somewhat difficult to obtain.

Just my 2 cents...hehe

Sure, we can make it, but to get the ingredients to do so is laughable. Especially the woolmander stuff. I have yet to see someone wear a set of RIS armor, let alone even sell it.

For mandalorian armor, this would be a good thing. This armor will be the most sought after item in the game (except for maybe holos). The requirements to get this armor should be very, very steep. The metal for this armor should be found only on one to two advanced planets planets (dath and endor, perhaps)and be very, very rare spots. The quests or dungeons to get the schematic should be very difficult. Make it hard for us.

I also wouldn't object to random spawns of the dungeons (kinda like the "mark of" camps).
