A couple of improvement concepts:
1. Allow a means to filter missions on the mission terminal by direction or by payout. It takes sometimes upwards of ten minutes to find two of the same type mission in the same direction.
2. Give vehicles a colored spatial tag and/or a unique radar dot so we can find them on maps where the white dots and spatial tags can't be pulled from the surrounding colors. The best fix would be to enhance a contrast element to displaying data (spatial tags, radar dots, etc) against the given map colors for certain planets.

Its art issue right nowbecause your body can change shape and the holster would never fit. Basically if you want holsters, then everybody has to be the same shape.
That's always puzzled me.
Seeing as we have belts and bandoliers already, I've never quite understood why adding a holster to one of these was such a big issue.
.
I don't know about your characters, but mine look like crap when wearing a belt. The belts usually don't mesh well with the clothing I'm wearing. They are usually too far out away from my body and if I wear a coat, the coat doesn't cover the belt. They just kind of blend together in a messy look.
I would like to see MASTER Pistoleers get the duel wield that's been discussed many times. But, Everyone wants duel wield. I think that it should be something that ONLY a MASTER Pistoleer should get. Throw us a bone... sheesh. Most of our specials don't work as it is anyways. God only knows when they will get fixed. lol

I think the imperial crackdown should be a little larger in scale. Afterall, they have the resources and technology of almost an entire galaxy. I've only found them to be a problem in cities that are out of the way and are virtually deserted, even before the crackdown (ie kor vella, mos espa). They should especially put more pressure on the known rebel cities (anchorhead, moenia, coronet). I think there should really be no more truly rebel cities (other than player cities) on planets where the empire has a tight grip (like tatooine and naboo). Sure, continue having those rebel mission terminals, but make them harder to utilize due to the oppression of the empire. The rebels, at this time, only opperate out of secret bases and in secrecy anyways. They don't have control of entire cities, especially when the empire can just take a star destroyer and blast the city off the face of the planet without any significant loss. By making a greater imp. pressence, it will encourage rebel players to opperate more out of player cities and faction bases (and thus making faction bases more useful other than just for the opposite faction to take over).
Also, instead of having the rebel recruiter hiding in the cantina, put them on the streets but without the little rebel insignia thing next to their name. They would be like covert members, and they will only reveal themselves as members of the rebelion to you once you get enough fp to join (and then you still have to converse with them to find out), and until you have enough fp they act like any other npc you can converse with. This way it actually givesthe feel that the rebelion is working in secrecy. They will still have that purple tinge to their name in the screens of any rebel to show that they are a rebel npc. You can also place npcs like this in large cities under the control of the empire (but perhaps limit it to no more than one) and they will respawn somewhere else in the city every time the servers and brought down so to avoid attracting the empire's notice. Make it so that when an imp. pc with a high rank who is also covert talks to them, they are able to id them as a member of the rebel alliance and the npc becomes attackable by imps. This would also make it harder for new rebels to join and whatnot and thus encourage joining the Empire.
I dunno if this in the game already or not, but make it so at least overt imps aren't searched for contraband. I think the imps also need more benefits, especially for being overt. They truly are supposed to have the upper hand in this war. But if there is a greater imperial pressence virtually everywhere, then imps will have the added benefit of greater protection. As it stands, relatively small amounts of imp npcs in some of these imp cities makes the protection that imps have neglegible.
What this should do is make playing a rebel more adventerous while making playing an imp more beneficial...

Well I just posted this idea last night and it seemed to get alot of aproval. I guess I should have looked here first..lol. Well here it is.
I have been thinking alot about the pros and the cons of the new Jedi revamp. I am happy with everything that they are doing and agree with the changes. I do though have a fear that we will have a flood of Jedi out there and the GCW will turn into a Light vs. Dark Jedi battle.
What I propose is to have a profession level beyond master that would be called "Hero" i.e. "Hero Smuggler" or "Hero Bounty Hunter". I have read almost every novel based in the Star Wars universe and the Jedi, while very powerful, are not the only powerful force in the galaxey. There are various others in the Galaxey that balance out the Jedi. So I thought about how the Devs could impliment this aspect into SWG. One of the things that I wanted to accomplish is to prevent every jedi from being the most powerful profession in the game. This is what propose be the guidlines for a "Hero" level of a profession:
To be a "Hero" you must forfit any professions and their related skills that are not required or associated to your chosen profession. The reson behind this is that to really excel and become a "Hero" you must concentrate solely on your chosen profession and non-other. This will keep alot of people from pursuing the "Hero" level because they would have to give up skills that they might rely on. A common one would be medic, which almost everyone has because it allows them to use stims.
To become a "Hero" of your chosen profession you must perform a series of epic quests. These quests should be long and hard (hopefully the Jedi trials will be like this) and make it so that the players have to be involved in it (no grinding). The devs can make this like the Jedi and FS trials where as the wanna be "Hero" progresses through his quests, they will gain more abilities. I wanna see people work for this but still be fun and engrossing.
Once you become a "Hero" you will gain special attacks, abilities, and access to special equipment. Basicly the "Hero" should be able to go toe to toe with a Jedi (maybe not a Master) and have a chance to survive and even win a battle. If this is done it will give the many people who have no interest in becoming a Jedi something exciting to look forward to. I feel that it will add alot of excitement and more of a "Star Warsy" feel to SWG. It will also keep SWG from becoming one big Jedi lovefest and it is a much better way of keeping the Jedi in check than just relying on Bounty Hunters.

since guessing what the devs are planning is a mind wrecking task, ill just let these ideas fly, and see if they catch any wind.
Improveing the GCW.
The GCW is great one the concept of battlefields. a place where the uninvolved can stay away from.
But what if you want to invovle another part of the world in the war? you can move the battlefields, or "create" one either. And it is a civil war, so isnt it likely the civilian organizations would want to profit from this war?
keeping in mind PVP must be volentary and with acceptance of both parties involved, I find it annoying to some extent that the devs arent "thinking bigger" in the GCW.
Player cities have beenup and running for a while now. Most cities have a number of crafters associated with them. So lets say the architect of city A can sell structures cheaper then city B's architect, what is the architect of city B going to do? well in the games current form he should properly try another profession, but this is where improvementis needed in my opnion.
When a city becomes a certain size, it become PVP involved. witch means the buildings and citizens belonging to that city can now be attacked. sort of like being overt. so your house could actually be destroyed by another player if it comes to war. Now in order to justify the risk of placeing a house in a large city, only large cities should have "industrial areas" ie area where players can place factories. You dont need factories to grind a profession, so if you want to "hermit" a profession that is still possible, but some items are not available to you unless you risk living in a "hostile zone". Now these factories should also be targets under the "city PVP". In effect trade disputes can now arise!
A large player city (A1) has an architect, so does the large player city (B1) now A1 is hogging all the customers with his unreasonable low prices'. Now any player from vity B1my call for a vote to go to war against city A1, and if the vote passes within this city, the opposing city gets a minumum five day warning, to either disband the city, or prepare for war. when battle occures only citizens of the to involved cities are allowed to fight in the battlefields.
This creates tons of new options to the involved players, you could go for the destruction offactories, hopeing to get a finacial break for opposing traders, or you could loot the city halltreasury? im sure you guys have tons of ideas for nasty things you would like to see happen to an unwanted city! :-)
Plus this opens a possiblity for diplomacy, allow cities to enter alliances with each other so that is city A declares war on city B, the alliance betweem city B and C makes it possible for citizens in both city B and C to defend the attacked city. This also would create the demand for civil defence structures such as turret, walls and gates, so you can protect your cities against the other cities.
If city B1 declared war on A1, and the five days pass, city A1 is attackable for maybe an hour or two or some preset timelimit made under thevote made earlier.
Player cities should also be allowed to declare themselves Rebel or Imperial. The benefit of declareing should be that smaller citys would get an extra eara for factories, so even small towns could have factories but only if they where openly supporting either side of the war. Now no-one is online 24-7 so you would only be able asa city to be overt with a working milita in town. the milita should be able to consist of both players and npc, both faction and non-faction.
To clarify this factories in a city that is not overt, or large, should not function. The option "start manufactoring" should only be available in "overt" cities. Now even non combat professions can make a city overt by adding combat driods to the city milita and pets. before a city can go overt a vote must be made where the city decides what the minumum number and type of units must be installed in the milita is before it goes overt, and everytime this number is met, the city automaticly goes "overt" and the "start manufactoring" ability becomes available on all factories declared in the city limits.
This of course requires one major changes. No factories may function outside city limit, and should idealy only be placable inside city limits.
Gimme some comments on this one people i think this could be a cool way of spicing up PVP plus PVP would still be optional, you can become master of any crafting profession without the use of factories, and still be able to make a living of the skills, but the rewards of living in a PVP active city would be so great that it would be worth it. There is absolutely room for improvement and this i agree, but i dont see and difficulties in this playing skyle interfereing with the current pvp ethics, and the i dont see any emidiate exploit options on this.
So what do you guys think? will we be able to bring war to the cities?

This is just a thought... have you guys thought of allowing players to place bounties on other players. I'm sure NPCs and Jedi are not the only things that Bounty Hunters hunted in the original trilogy.

Want to know some things to finally implement into the game?
how about making Ranger a PLAYABLE Profession?
Traps that work?
Skills that are needed?
We have DOZENS of threads in the Ranger forum about new ideas for the class, PLEASE check them out. Ideas like new weapons, mounted combat, new buildings, new skills. Again, PLEASE check them out.
Would be nice if a Red Named One would come to the various forums once in awhile, just to let us know you still care.
Now, instead of NEW ideas, how about you FIX the old BUGS that have been around since almost LAUNCH?
Things like:
Pets autostoring
Imperial Hat, enough said on that.
Ranger DIZZY trap that is used JUST on Creatures, but Devs say Dizzy has NO EFFECT on creatures? Thus the Ranger trap is useless?
CH was nerfed 9 months ago for the "Combat Rebalance" that is still 3 months away?
1 Year and STILL NO DISPLAYABLE FACTION RANK?
1 Year and NO FACTION UNIFORMS?
1 Year and NO PERMANANT FACTION CHAT CHANNELS?
MAKE Faction armor cheap and useful so people will wear it instead of the Composite stuff, it MAY breath life into the GCW as we wait 3-4 MONTHS for its revamp.
The GCW is all but Dead on most servers, yet you push Jedi ahead of the GCW revamp?
Pistoleer has only 3 working Specials? (KD1, Fanshot, BS1) All others do NOT work.
DEV FEEDBACK IS MOST WANTED!
WHY should we post all these ideas and on the other forums when we never know if the Devs ever read them? Dev Feedback is CRUCIAL right now cause alot of players feel like the Devs are ignoring us.
Ah well, just fix these OLD problems before you go introducing all the new ones, Thanks.

FACTION RANK OVERHAUL
- Redo Imperial and Rebel Faction ranks to be simulair to the Jedi Force Ranking system. Get the players more involved.
- Have Faction rank displayed while Overt next to the players name.
- Have Faction uniforms that will display faction rank.
- Make faction armor cheaper to get and more useful so that not everyone is wearing composite armor.

Heres sum more ideas.......
SPORTS: Maybe have like two totally different kinds of sports. One being dueling, also feom KOTOR. The other being a sport almost that of football, but with metal balls that can be throw at other players. ( I dont want a whole rule book here since it will prolly not get in-game). Where would the sports be played you ask. In a stadium that is maybe just in coronet. Guilds could be made specifically for these sports. Players could only practice the sports far from town. They could even own a field that ARCH's could make. Tournaments could be held every month.
A new proffesion could be athelete who would have special skills to aid his team in a game. Maybe give different races their own attributes in the game. A wookie against a bothan in a tackle game would be slaughter. But if the wookie was given a an advantage in strength(sp), and the bonthan a advantage in speed the game would be more interesting. Of course hundreds of spectaters could watch. Ticket would have to purchased. Lag would prolly be a problem. Maybe when a spectater enters the arena, he is ushered to a seat and sits down. Imediately following sitting the screen changes to the feild and nothing else. That way no player would be running around the arena and causing lag. If you wanted to exit arena you right click or sumthinand BOOM your outside.
Thats all I got! Feel free to add things.

When you have many different tells and replies going at same time things can get a little confusing, so I think that Tell/reply-windows should be added. When you get/make a tell a window open up in which conversation to this person is done.
Also for those of us that are entertainer, please make sure that we can stay in that window when we make a flourish in a macro. I know how irritating it is trying to modify a macro while running it, or writing an ingameemail, just to be moved to chatt window each time a flourish is made.

i dont know where to post this but i figured this would be as good as any....i wanna see my extremities in first person...nothing sexual but i want to be able to see myhands and feet (i wanna see the dl44 in my hands) very reminiscent to FPS, i know i know this isnt a FPS but i want it, even eq had this to a point. in my opinion it would just be nicer then having a blank screen with a UI in my face.

I wouldn't mind seeing Dejarik in the game
I would like to see a recommended retail price for things, like the average price of things being sold for that week. Buyers and sellers would no longer be kept in the dark. The data could be compiled once a week and easily accessed from in the game.
