We were up there with

- a swordsman/squadleader
- a bountyhunter/something else
- a CM/Doc
- a commando/pistoleer
- a pikeman (/entertainer )
- a bounty hunter/pistoleer
- a commando / tka
- a rifleman/ "hunt master" (soon to be "tracker" :/ damn titlechange) that'll be me
- a dark jedi (somewhere in "padawan" I think)

And we did it "just in time" (a few minutes left after we killed the admiral for the assassination mission).

And I now have a new shiny badge http://www.lanparty.de/misc/darmok/corvette_badge.jpg

The key was to stick together, have someone with the group that was there already (this was the third or fourth group of my PA going there, the first to finish it), stay away from any ranged AOE attacks to prevent aggroing half the corvette with one shot, also no poisons/diseases from the cm and coordinate what to hit when. We didn't die, not a single one of us. The CM needs to restock on ranged (area-) stims now though .

More of this kind of challenging high-end content that needs a group working good together to make it through it is what this game badly needs.

Many thanks to the devs to put in such a *really* decent and fun "dungeon", I can't wait to get another decent group together to find the components we need to make something from our new schematics .

Ok the point I want to make here is not knowing what we were up against, we got our butts handed to us, and I actually was very satisfied at this. It's about time there is something that is no way solo-able. I was smart and took alot of screen shots so I could remember resists and ham levels. Next time I go, I will be alot better prepared.

A guildmate who is a 4 4 4 4 Guardian soloed the corvette. Of course he also soloed the largest and most well defended Imperial fortress city on our server. All their factional pets and 40 plus PCs.

SOE apparently doesnt understand the concept of game balance.

This is regarding the Imperial Assassination Mission.

I did find it hard but not impossible and a good deal of trial and error to find the clues for how to complete it. Felt like a quest!

We were only two people who tried it. We didn't make it within the hour but we both stayed alive and probably cleared more than 50% of the Corvette.

That is using semi-ok armor and good weapons. Nothing "uber".

I'm looking forward to doing it again to get to learn more about how to complete the different missions.

So my thoughts after one try is: I liked it and thought the difficulty was on a good level.

I keep hearing that mostly everything in this place has high resists to kinetic and energy.

Well I am a Master TK / Master RM and we only deal kinetic with TK or energy with our most power rifle, yes we have stun and cold and acid but is anything vuln to that here?

Please someone put some info.

If it is the case that kinetic and energy are uneffective in this place then really what is the point in having profs like this if we cant have any fun?

Yes, a rifleman is useful there, there are some mobs that have not too much energy resists and the super battle droids (some of the toughest enemies we ran into) have "only" 40% against acid so the DXR-6b is really helpful there.

I would have taken more screenshots but I was a bit busy with other things, maybe next time .

I would like to preface this by saying I personally really like the idea and the set/setting of this corvette mission, and I hope more instanced dungeons with a more star warsy theme are added in the future.

A large percentage of people who play online rpgs like star wars galaxies(mmorpgs) are not normal gamers. They are obsessive hardcore gamers, who possibly work harder in game than they do in thier real lives. Sometimes they are called powergamers i suppose.

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

OKay I'm not going to bother to read all of what is on this post but answer what I can. Hmm 3 hours to find some crappy keys okay fine we go on an easter hunt to see this great new dungeon not bad would of prefered a challenging mission dunno if it's just me but I would like to of earned those keys or done something fun with decent loot to boot. But hey thats just me.

Iin the corvette: the group - tk/swordsman, fencer/tk, doc/cm, carbiner, master rifleman, tk, and pistoleer. Now you think the odds were even with a bunch of new uber npcs nope they werent. Had 2300 buffs, brandy, steak and any Muon we could carry.

Load for me was laggy when I made it in half my group incapped. We ere barely able to hold our own in the halls nearby. So far crude for loot my armor is getting torn up 80% on most stats as so were everyone elses. Now getting to elevator we had 9 rebal npcs just mow us down and run back down or get stuck incapped. Now it would of been fine but ..

1. Problem one - Getting shot through the ceiling repeatedly. Come on I can't even do that.

2. No rebuffing - come on you can not do this with out buffs 100k ham npcs its like facing a room full of nighsister elders.

I mean there is fun and challenging and then there is just omg this is insane andticking me off no fun. I know some say yes gripe for content, loot or tougher dungeons but come on this should be fun and entertaining. I mean i love the graphics felt like the movie but when you can't buff and when you clone there is an npc killing you in load that is aweful. I understand devs want us to think about combat and we tried to lure a few at a time they just kept coming out of the woodwork. Anyone know the respawn rate?

Suggestions:

1.) Give docs rebuffing in corvette (even with buffs we know we have to do this right since we have a time limit but we should be able to rebuff or we have to do over the ticket thing again that was not fun)

2.) Remove npc shooting through walls thats just silly.

3.) I hope there is some decent reward for all the comp lose and damage taken on my health other than a badge. I want a fun reason for going here I may get a nice blade, pistol or better yet decor of any kind.

Make us want to really go there and risk it all you know. For something neat to get. What can I say I like shiny and interesting objects. Come on devs don't make this dungeon ridiculous. There thats my 2 cents. Oh and yes I did have some fun before things got a little silly up there in space. Hehe. I hope this is positive to a point and flamers and trolls I don't care if this sounds flamming this is input and some positive reinforcement in some fasion. With good comes the bad.

This is btw the only bug I personally experienced, but as this is far from new that aoe attacks hit through walls and roofs and floors I figured initially that it was a known problem but better safe then sorry so I point it out .

To all of the people who gripe about the escape pod thing, it is common sense that you do NOT double click things without single clicking first to see what the options are.

If you had taken the time to do that you would have seen a message that says "doing this will send you away with no way to return, are you sure you want to do this" or something along those lines.

I would like to preface this by saying thatI really like the idea of this content, and thatI would like to see more instanced content in the future. The set/setting of this dungeon is superb, and has a star warsy feel to it that most of the game is lacking.

A large percentage of people who play star wars galaxies and other games like it are not normal gamers. They become totally obsessed with the game, and learn every little detail, every little trick, to get ahead. Sometimes they are called powergamers, and these powergamers work harder on thier in-game characters thanI imagine many people do in thier real lives.

When you create content that is so difficult that a maximum sized group of these powergamers, outfitted in the very best equipment the game has to offer, have no chance to complete the content, I think it needs to be toned down in a large way.

What do you think is going to happen when some casual players spend 4 months maxing out thier characters, throw a group together, and try out this content?

Honestly is this some sort of sick joke? Something for you guys to sit back, watch, and laugh?

Were you able to complete your own content?

Some things that need to be taken into account here:

-line of sight does not work properly with regards to shooting through floors, and aoe attacks going through walls

-1 hour time limit does not go well together with numerous creatures that individually take many minutes to kill, even when exploiting thier weakest resistances with the highest armor piercing weapons the game has to offer

-Even with the best armor on my server, costing a million+ to get a suit of and full buffs, 3 hits from some of these guys are you are done

-once you get killed once you are pretty much useless, as without buffs you have no potential to survive

-legacy bugs such as the "armor hole"

I know everyone on this thread has said pretty much the same thing, and personallyI do not want to come off as a whiner, but the difficulty onthis content with all things considered is just too much, it needs to be toned down a few notches.

I understand why you made it difficult, to prevent people from soloing it, however sometimes you just have to realize, it may be the nature of the beast that any content you create which is "possible to complete" will eventually be possible to solo. (ie. a bunch of legendary equipment on a profession with enough different damage types to hurt everything)

The only way i see any group being able to tackle this thing, is if they are exploiting in some way

Thanks for your time.

I see alot of talk about buffing, alot of elite professions went but died, and high armour.

Didn't see much on food preperation or weapon preperation, it just seems like some power players used to dealing out damage by just running in and bashing have to possibly start including things like Synth steak.

Especially when the complaint is

-we buffed (pretty good buffs)

-we put on real good armour (high resists)

-went in died continually and lost out with little reward

= not fun.

It does sound like its hard. Good, and in some cases thats a reward. I'll need pet preperation (speak to bio's and DE's), make sure the group has the variety needed, load up on food and drink, examine each opponent and designate the weaknesses.

Clone camping doesn't sound good.
