perhaps it will be fun when you balance the combat classes so we all dont have to be riflemen/CM/TKMs to have any fun in it...

Experience from the Book of Hex....

I was fully intending to run around, find how to get on and jump on and scout and die so that I can give my friends a heads up when we all went tonight.

Instead I ran into some people in Kor Vella and ended up joining with them.

We went to the Tusken Fort first, searched around and then went down the tunnel and I just moved my mouse over everything that I came across (I have been doing computer rpgs long enough to know how to find things that you can affect) and got the first part.

All and all we found all three in no time, I apologize for sounding mean but it is just common sense and anyone should be able to figure out how to find the evidence in no time. I feel sorry for those who waited for magseals.

Time for the shuttle...

We decided who would use their ticket and off we went and arrived in the neat room.

MISTAKE #1 : Attempting to use a Rancor in a place that size.

MISTAKE #2 : Someone charging out the door.

Fought our way around a bit, and the rest is pretty much obvious.

By the time we left I was completely in the black on my HAM, with not a bit of color showing.

Things I came to notice....

If you walk, do not run on the beginning parts you can actually walk by many things though sooner or later they will just seem to wake up and start shooting.

Moving slow is the key, keep the area behind you open and fight on your terms, draw them to you and fall back as needed.

My best set of composite is now dust, my clothing is all at condition 1, thankthe gods that weapons do not decay.

But I enjoyed the hell out of myself and look forward to going back, and no I didnt loot a thing but credits so far.

I do have some issues though......

1) PLEASE fix the aoe thing, I know it can not be easy but it does make me as a rifleman pretty useless unless I fry my own mind using headshots.

2) PLEASE make the room you clone in closed, it got camped by troopers many times (HINT: when you clone, stand still and the troopers will ignore you)

3) PLEASE I can understand why you do not allow rebuffing, but you really need to allow wound healing even if it is just in the room you clone into.

4) HUH? When I cloned the first time I got a message saying that because it was a faction death I wouldnt lose insured status. But I still decayed like crazy? If it is a bug, you can feel free to replace my armor DEVS because it will cost every single credit I have to get another set and then have to pray that I can get at least some encumerance slices.

5) PLEASE perhaps allow us to clone on the ship in the same room we get sent back to. OR remove decay for that dungeon, I know myself I will take wounds all day long and have a GREAT time if I do not have to worry about my things decaying.

All and all, I enjoyed myself.

If any rebels would like a Master Rifleman/ 4,4,1,4 Combat medic healing freak to accompany them send me a tell and I would be happy to. (After I dig up some new armor)

Two words. "Too Hard"

I attempted it in a group of 6. BH/master pistoleer, Master TK/Commando, Master Swordsman/commando, Master Pikeman/Doctor, master TK/Doc, and Master CH. It took us nearly 30 minutes to kill the Admiral and Commodore on the first or second level. With ALL of us doing are best attacks and using the best weapons of the lowest resist they had. The CH's creatures were nothing but distractions that died quickly over and over. This is the biggest thing I disliked about the first go round. The resists on the high end npc's were just way too outrageous.

It was definitely fun when we got near the end of our timer, the third level down where the battledroids are. We all ended up in one room where multiple corridors split out in different directions. We ended up standing in the middle, each firing down a different corridor holding off the rebels and droids.... Then a super battledroid somehow came flying at us and we really started loosing. 140K ham. But after attacking the Super droid for ANOTHER 20 minutes...it really started getting boring. By the time our Hour was up, almost all of us got killed for being incapped 3 times since they don't DB immediately. Only one person still had their buffs after the hour was up.

In the end, it was a general consensus that it was a waste of Good composite armor condition. I went in with a brand new 30,000 condition suit, and came out with it just under 16,000. People may think I say it's too hard because we only had a 6 people group, but I think we held out pretty good until the end. But previous posts are saying that groups of 15 are even saying it's way too hard. Just tone it down just a bit. The resists are just outrageous...not on the rebel ensigns and lowbees, but the Droids and Admirals. The commandos would LOVE it if they could use their Rocket launchers/Particle Cannons inside. We would have done ALOT more damage with their heavy piercing wpns. But no, we were limited to Flame throwers and LLC's.

I'd also like to ask the we be allowed to get rebuffed while onboard the corvette. Cause once you die and lose your buffs. You might as well leave and let your party do it's thing. It's a waste of an hour if you can't rebuff.

Other than that, the story was 'ok'. And if we could finish it I could give a more diffinitive answer. I did loot 12 decent sword cores though. lol.

2 thumbs down.

i don't think you guys have found the balance between a fun challange and just making things walking heavy turrets. because of the screwed up combat system only medium and heavy ap weapons make much difference taking out all need for a diverse group. maybe if you guys would fix all the specials it would be fun for everybody..........but you have already said you don't care about that or how we feel - so back to the new content.

yes - the first time i went it was fun, and then i went back with a group with a more serious manner and we got aggroed by 4 super battled droids 7 minutes in and they killed us all.

a group of elite long time fighters should have at least gotten close to the end or had a chance to complete it.

we wasted too much time running around not knowing what to do and running into NPCs we couldn't fight.

there needs to be some kind of NPC interaction that tells us what the hell we are actually doing.

it feels like a bad easter egg hunt.........and once you realize you can't really beat your foes you just have to run from them.......and then they grief you if they incap you.

you got a good style but the actual content and interaction sucks.

there should be a lot of fairly hard enemies to kill and then a few very strong bosses - not 20 super battle droids with heavy armor which blast away at you no matter your skills.

i know it's justsomething to keep us intrested until the space expansion and to keep our minds off the broken things in the game - but it really fails to excite......think ill go back to the geo caves.

I, like so many others who have posted, went with a well rounded group to take on the Corvette.

I am a TKA, quite nearly Master, others in my group were carbineers, CM's, Commandos, Doctorsand so on. There were 10 of us total.

Within 2 minutes, maybe 3 of enterting the corvette, we got mowed, mostly through walls, around corners and suchnot, by Rebel Ensigns. (Lemme say, toughest ensigns ever with 90K HAM). After dying twice, it was time to go home, I'm not going to beat my own dead corpse, ya know? Well, ha ha! Good luck trying to find the escape pods without dying even more! After perhaps 5 deaths, severe decay, we managed to find a way off the vette.

Two words, SOE: TOO DIFFICULT.

I mean, I know this was supposed to be fun, but this really puts the F U into fun.

I went withsome of guildmates to corvette. 11 in total mostly master combat types with the best equipment. we were all fully buffed with both medical and musician buffs. we managed the first few 13k HAM stormies, but when we started meeting the 70k HAM STs we got wasted. I like hard but as someone else has mentioned this is plain silly. I wont be going back until something is done. I rate the idea as a 9, but execution as a 2.

The single most important thing that needs to get fixed is the ability to buff or keep buffs after cloning. I would prefer that we keep buffs since we are racing against time. Since we cannot do buffs we cannot heal wounds.

When we clone in the corvette we experience decay. this needs to change. Just not worth it with the amount of times we die.

I expect to see the genosian labs full again.

Since this is the first day, I would suspect that some enterprising people will be writing guides on how to do each type of mission. That way, we'll know exactly where to go and what to do. This will save lots of time and prevent people from fighting mobs that won't need to.

There are two things I hope gets changed, and although they have to do with other dungeons as well (especially The Warren), it is really noticable on the Corvette.

1. In the overhead map, I only want to see the floorplan of the floor I am actually on. With all of the different tunnels and hallways crossing over each other, it is like trying to read some kryptic egyptian karma-sutra position. Also, elevators should be clearly marked on the overhead map as to whether they are up, down, or both.

2. I shouldn't beable to target something through walls. I have my "cyclenexttarget" key bound to the thumb button of my mouse. With 4 melee combatants fighting one enemy, it makes it tough to target him even when he is standing right in front of me because the computer keeps trying to target everything on the ship.

As for the Corvette itself, do I think it is too tough? No. I think we are used to blasting our way through everything and once we find a challenge, we throw our hands up in disgust.

Jedi's need something to fight. Elite combat professions need a challenge. Groups and guilds need content where they aren't constantly killing everything in one or two seconds.

Obviously, the Corvette isn't for everyone. The Devs needed to put some additional content in for a specific class of people, and I believe they have succeeded.

Does it need changing? Yes. Decay and the ability to rebuff is a bad design decision IMHO. You made it tough for us. Failing is punishment enough. At least give us a fighting chance at it by letting use our full one hour and not paying such a heavy penalty via decay.

Okay, I haven't seen anyone mention this yet, but...

All the MOBs in the Corvette only do Ranged attacks, no melee!

This means all melee professions cannot tank (melee mitigation is useless), which is doubled by the high kinetic resiststhat everything has there(making TKAs completely useless).

Ironically enough, this means high-level Jedi could potentially clean house in there. A 4/4/4/4 Guardian has godly lightsaber blocking against ranged attackers... only the kinetic lightsaber bats would be a problem.

Afew recommendations I can maketo the devs after reading over this post:

  • Take out the randomness from the quests to get the tickets for the Corvette, make each mission-giver give you a specific place to go (and give more descriptive instuctions of what you're looking for).

  • Implement a warning before the ticket is given so you can form a group so you can all get the tickets.

  • Create some sort of warning or dialog to ensure that all members of your group get on the Corvette with you.

  • Please put in a confirmation dialog for the escape pod!

  • Put a cloning and insurance terminal at the entrance. If we're forced to clone on the ship we shouldn't receive decayand wounds.

  • Make the entrance area a safe area, like a public indoors area. You can't be shot or attack (without being "ejected"), but you can call out droids (so we can buff)... PLEASE!

  • Please give the MOBs melee attacks (see above notes) so the melee professions have some use in the Corvette!

  • Increase the time to 2 hours so we can actually enjoy the experience there, it's hard to get large groups to cooperate, especially with the high instances of death.

  • Since the complaints seem to range fromthe Corvette being too tough (the majority of players) to players liking it just the way it is, and sinceyou havethree mission-givers, why not have three difficulties for the dungeon? An Easy one from one guy for the noobish groups/solists, a Hard one for the small Elite groups or large skill-varied groups, and an Extreme one (just the way it is now) for the masochists. This could easily make everyone happy. Of course the rewards would have to be adjusted accordingly...

  • A last note has more to do with the current trend that devs have taken with giving mobs hundreds of thousands of HAM, super-powered one-hit kill specials, and nigh-invincibile resists/armor ratings. While some players find this "fun", a lot don't. The one-hit kill specials have to go away, right now. The insanely high HAMs also need to be re-thought (a little), killing something for an hour is not fun, period. I have no complaints really of the Medium and Heavy Armor Ratings (though I cringe every time I see it, not out of fear, just the time required to wear them down), however the 100% resists to any damage typeshould not exist! This really has the effect of alienating entire professions, and really kills the group aspects of things. At the very least nothing should have 100% to Energy or Kinetic, this is the base damage type of Ranged/Melee professions and everything should havesome vulnerability to them, perhaps they should becappedat 80% or even 60% like BE pets have to be. Please consider this deeply, it's a major problem atm.

Please consider all of the above and "revamp" the Corvette into something we can all enjoy. Thanks.

P.S. I do like the instanced idea, any chance we can see this happenfor the Krayt graveyard? Pretty please?!
