As much issues as there are with PvP combat there should be NO cost what so ever for this "insurance".
BUT since I say free... I say it is FREE for OVERT members of the faction. Covert members you can charge for since they are not open to combat 24/7.

ok my opinion never counts for anything on these forums but i'm going to give it to you anyway...

The day pass should be free of charge to the highest ranking officers of the faction....

Then scale the payment down as your rank gets higher till it reaches the highest level(I'm not sure what highest is as I have only reached staff sageant and I can still raise my faction rank)

But at the lowest level maybe have it cost 5k then scale it down according to the rank of the soldier. This will encourage people to actually hold rank.... Also it would be a reward to those rebels or imperials who have reached the appropriate rank. That how I think it should be done... but like I said my opinion never counted before not expecting that to change.

Although its better than nothing, I can see a Covert/overt not wanting to PvP to gain faction, why, cause while learning they lose fp and have to pay fp not to get penalties. While those that are good at PvP, reap the rewards.

Why be overt and at least give a little battle as a crafter and suffer when you can be covert and escape most situations. Thats right, even against high odds fleeing through a city is fun. Just the penalty of it isn't.

I have to Second this!! Why the favoritism for PVP. Many of us do not PVP and do not ever want to PVP. In this time period for every combatant there had to be Millions of people living interesting and fulfilling lives in a non combatant role. Is this not a valid Play style all of a sudden? Is the vision you have of this game just non stop running battles between Imp and Reb? I am very frustrated with this apparent force feeding of GCW and PVP for a huge segment of the population that wants nothing to do with that.

I respectfully ask for a responce to this. Seriously, Please respond, Please!!!!!

I don't understand why you're trying to hard to cater to the PvP folks to the detriment of everybody else. According to your own polls, only about 19% of the people are involved in PvP. Why are the other 81% of us forced to suffer decay on death? I just don't get it. I would once again like to remind you of your promise that you want the game to be fun. How is insured decay fun? You know we don't like it -- JustG said so in his thread defending you. So why does it continue to plague us? Just so Tailors will have people buying their stuff? Sorry, not good enough. Several of us have said we'd prefer corpse runs, and have even gone so far as to ask for the option to choose one over the other.

In PVE I fight tough tough stuff and don't die...in PVP you die about every two minutes on BIG intense battles involving bases...less if it is a casual city hijacking...I can duy 30 times in pvp in an evening...so there needs to be some different system for pvp decay...in those 30 deaths lets say i insure everytime but i forget once in the heat of the battle...that is 39% of my armor wasted not counting the regular decay it takes each time it protects me.

I go through pvp armor at about a rate of 20 to 1 vs my pve armor...if not more...that is off the top of my head. AND!!! I pve more than i pvp.

also on the numbers of nuets vs faction people...that is skewed...I have around five toons on various servers...all are nuet mules except for the one I play which is Imperial. All are considered active by SOE standards (i log into them at least once every three weeks)...so my four non played toons add to the numbers of non GCW %.

wow...that is the calmest post I have made all day!

Still pissed at TH and the Dev's though!!!

In the teams effort to resolve the PvP Death and Decay, what we are going to be able to implement (for publish 7), is a Faction Combat Day Pass. This "day pass" is Insurance.

You check in with your faction recruiter, purchase a day pass for faction combat (PvP and PvE), and for 24 hours, you will have no decay on your insured items.

How much do you think this should cost?

If you implement this be sure to let us buy this pass anywhere in the galaxy because when I log back overt I don't want to run back to a factional recruiter 5k away and be hijacked by opposite faction members... get killed and **edit** *edit*I wasn't insured and I lost 1% decay.

One day pass is way too low, give us the ability to buy a week pass and let us have a popup when the pass fades off... either how would we know our pass isn't anynmore valid. Sorry Sir i'ts 00:01 you died and didn't bough you pass => welcome to decay

Let the pass work on PvP and PvE death, the idea to make PvP and PvE distinct is bad and won't push non PvPers towards it because they don't like it and they don't get XP for killing players.

About a price if you really want to know I'll tell0 faction points and 0 creds. I don't understand why I have to pay to be inusred and pay once more te be insured again. Maybe we should pay an imperial tax to wear clothes, eat food, how about a tax to breath air?

Plz TH tell you boss this simple sentence :

We don't want decay at all on insured items on PvP and PvE cloning

My two cents-

Tie decay into if you have a faction pet out (even/epscailly if it's dead)

This requires people to be overt, and it make the game more star warsy.

It requires some investment, and avoid some 'abuse' from people using it to PVE.

It allows peopel to only get two or three before going back to a recruiter (actaulyl be nice to add a posible of 10 pets to datapad then)

Some decay is needed, but overt decay is just bad.

Having a pet out might be another option you can tag to to remove the decay that you had not explored.

Important though- make the pets very cheap- 50-400 a piece

and give them distinct advantages to each other (medics really do something, troopers use heavy weaps,

urban guerillas are covert in cities, wilderness/scout outside cities etc)

Faction epts were about the most Star warsie thing you had but they are never used except AT STs in mass groups

And to calm the PVE crowd, remove the stupid decay of armor from death it burns up too fast.

Armor effects should also be nerfed to sommthign reasonable, something that give good protection but the affects increase logarhymically rather than exponentially as they do now.

Which btw shoudl be the same with defesne stacking- Stacking is good, but it need to be tapered at high ends, removing stacking is going to force teamples for abilites liek FD/panic shot and warcry only.

I also say 500,because if it is too cheap most of the people who can afford to run around in a 2.5-1 million credit suits will just buy a bunch of faction xp from a smuggler anyways so if they want to to try and take advantage of this it should cost them.

Oh and yeah it should be a perk of someone who has gained a couple ranks in their faction too.

Free for Overts, 500-700 for coverts. Sounds fair to me.

For the record i'm not a big fan of the new idea vs. what we were told what we were getting. But if this idea is locked in, you need to consider the goal. If you want to get people involved in PvP, than it needs to have a low cost. No more than what can be earned in 1-2 missions. 50-100FP.

I think it should be a reasonable amount like 10fp for covert and 5 for overt. Considering ppl will have to buy them fairly frequently.

we pay for insurance and get a lower decay

how do you make it 0 decay? you can do this by changing one character, change a 1 to a 0
