Thread: Faction Insurance Day Pass: How much?

It is a senseless idea.
It sounds, like buying a ski pass....

Hallo! It is SW!

I don't understand, why people can't live with the decay?
I can live with it, because i know, tailors, armorsmiths etc. need it.
Why are people so selfish?
Combatants get enough money to buy a new set of armor or clothes once in a month.

Please don't overact the new style of "we are listening to player" !

Because "They don't (always) know, what they want!"

At least you got that part right..

Uh, so WE don't want it, and YOU don't want it in for PvP--then why is it still there??

Insurance, how about credets along with faction; it should cost a monetary amount to insure an item, but as an overt you should sacrifice faction for that lean on wrecked items, and as an overt, if you should die without the needed faction, your items will degrade, consequently, when you become overt you would be given the choice of insurance, failing the faction requirement, you would be in formed should you die without the requirement, your faction will not provide similar equiptment in the same condition as when you enlisted.

whats funny, is that they won't care what all you will say, they will put it in.... then they will say "hey its working, they are all purchasing it" "wow"....

but really, since 50-100 or whatever won't be that much people will do it anyway, even though it ... well... it sucks <insert descriptive adjetive here>

You check in with your faction recruiter, purchase a day pass for faction combat (PvP and PvE), and for 24 hours, you will have no decay on your insured items.
How much do you think this should cost?

Hmm... tough one... seens how most people don't think there should be any decay for insured items... But I know your workin on em' TH...

To be honest I would almost like to see corpse runs back in... lol... as much as I hate to say this... I realize how much I kinda miss it from my EQ days... It ads a kind of... I dunno... adventure to things... like trying to drag your body to safety so you can get your stuff back... heh...

But to answer your question:
First off you should have to be overt to buy or use it... Because if it's not set up that way then any covert member can use this item to avoid the decay in PvE... And that isn't what this is all about... it is about people not wanting to PvP because of decay...
Second... I think it should cost cash and FP...
Like 5000 Credits and 500 Faction Points...
This item should be costly so that every noobie isn't out running around with one...
Also I would say they should be a perk for a certain rank... maybe half way up the scale... It shouldn't be given out to privates...

1 FP.

But if you remove decay from armor (since it is now "double taxed" since it degrades through use just like weapons), I think 100 FP would be reasonable, keeping in mind most people will lose that in PvP in 2-3 DB's.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE revisit armor decay. Listen to your players. It is double taxation - remove decay on it now and the uproar will simmer down to a murmur.

I agree 100% with this guy. Leave the decay on death system just as it is...it's fine. Just get rid of the **edit** armor decay. It really is that simple.

Ok, so now when I want to play the game and that play might involve combat, I need to:

  1. Stand in line for buffs (either to compete in PvP or to make decent xp in PvE)

  2. Clone

  3. Buy insurance

  4. Find a recruiter (not available on every planet, btw) and buy my Day Pass

  5. Maybe repair or buy weapons

  6. Maybe repair or buy armor

  7. Maybe make sure I've got stims and spice

I was a merchant from day one to the middle of January, and if you remember the 7 day limits, perpetually broken vendors, etc; it was more job than game. Playing with some combat skills is starting to sound like a job too.

I think the simple solution is to not remove decay.

My thinking, if you are going to be PVP'ing a lot that day you are going to be loosing a lot of faction points anyways. Dont make it cost so much that players have to run missions for an hour or two before they start PVP simply so they dont end up with less than 200 at the end of the battle.
Especially if the other side has combat medics, and lots of them.

I say 50-100 faction here too.

If you're PVE and at a low combat level, you run your first two or three missions for your Faction in order to break even. The rest of the faction you earn is up to you.

Having it last 24 hours is a great idea. If you find that the city where you chose to run factioned missions has its "spawn ring" camped by PVP players, you have sufficient time to choose whether to find a buffing doc and try PVP, or take a shuttle to somewhere less crowded.

Day pass should cost under 100 faction points.

Obviously having it 0 overt and 100 covert or whatever is pointless as I could declare, buy it, and kill myself.

IF it has to cost anything at all (for the record I still think decay is a ludicrous concept in general) make it 100 faction or less.

Simply make it where Overt = 0 decay.

oh and one more thing...since you WILL NOT LISTEN TO US on the fact that the 1% decay sucks....and you are going ot do this faction bandaid system no matter what we say....make **edit** sure it is for 24 hours....and not like buffs that are 2 hours unless you log out which resets them...

god I had the devs and TH right now....more than hate...I am LET DOWN by you guys....
