Thread: Weekly Roundtable Discussion (Week Ending 3-1-04)
Look , I am RARELY one to complain...
But I have to admit Th, I have a hard time understanding you sometimes..
I have stood behind you since the day you came on-board. I know your job is not an easy one, and as players we expect everything from you, but you cant always give that, which I understand..
This last statement you have made about the FS slot not changing and players not realizing a piece yadda yadda yadda...is very disturbing.
For MONTHS we have ALL known that its nothing more than professions
I have played SWG since Beta 2.....thats about March of 2003 if anyone cares.
I have done EVRYTHING this game has to offer, from theme parks, to pvping, to runing my own guild, completing over 95 % of NPC quests, countless badges, being on every planet/city..etc etc
Needing to be said, I am one of the VERY MANY who have been Shafted by the current Jedi system...
I have masterd 24 professsions..and yet I am no Jedi(I am Sick of mastering random professions)
Yet I remain LOYAL to this game, and persistant to my goal...
I LOVE the people, the community, the potential, and when it works as intended, I like that I can communicate(dev interaction) to you right here, as hopefully you or another Dev is actually reding this post..
But TH...on this Issue, you need to come clean..
As one man to another man , I respectfully request you do NOT speak in riddles, that you come out and tell me/us straight forward IF , and WHAT was changed if ANYTHYING to the current system.
I have JUST musterd up the courage, and determination to grind out the last 8 professions I have remaining...
I have gone through enough BS already TH..and theres many more who are in the same boat as me...
As Loyal as I have been to you and SWG
This is the LEAST you can do for your customers, some, who have ALREADY had it too hard as is...
I will be awating your answer on this issue...

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I am also bugged in the quest. *sighs* Here is my issue, if you want the info.... Sometime before publish 7, (possibly publish 6??) I started Borvo's Quest for the Krayt Skull. I finished the Naboo missions, went to Corellia and finished those missions, then went back to Naboo with my locked briefcase. *drag, drop* Borvo tells me nothing. Odd... *drag, drop* Borvo says, "Not yet." Huh? Now Borvo still won't take my briefcase, and all the other NPCs that I have done missions for think that I'm all done, and the ones I haven't done missions for yet won't talk to me yet because Borvo won't acknoledge me. *sighs*
Have you done all of the missions on Corellia? There are two or three I think...
(as for resolution, Im working to have it added to the records keepers, but the design schedule is pretty packed...I dont know when that is going to be yet, but I will track it.)
I think I may know what the problem is. Before the quest started working the last time - the item for Borvo was just a "locked briefcase". Once the quest was fixed - the item changed to "Borvo's Money" (this appears after Thale Dustrunner's last mission - I cannot remember for sure but I think the item you return to Thale after his last mission (a "locked briefcase") gets transformed into "Borvo's Money").
Thus anyone stuck at that point of the quest is currently stuck with "a locked briefcase" whereas Borvo is now triggered by the "Borvo's Money" item. You'd have the same luck trying to give Borvo a melon.
Hope this helps,
A topic has been mentioned on a board for a certain galaxy. Someone said they were going to start a character on a new server, but that when/if a new galaxy is created he'd imediately go there.
TH, can you quickly remark if adding a new galaxy has been planned, discussed, thought of, joked about, or mentioned while two SOE employees were out having a smoke.
Anything would be great.

Not sure if anyone else is having this problem. I've notice since publish 6 that about 1 out of every 3 times I dismount my speeder, either I or the speeder gets slingshotted. Most of the time my player is shot 10-50 meters away from my speeder. Other times I've had my speeder shoot 500m+ away!
That's been going on for longer than just publish 6.
Weird. For me, it started the day Pub 6 came out. Same formy friends.

Thanks for the response. Any ETA on a fix for the vehicle HP bug?
ASAP. Within the next couple of weeks...
Do you expect the fix to apply to vehicles already crafted? Will itfix current deeds andvehicles already pulled? I am wondering if it is safe to sell vehicles right now...

How about telling us what problems you are already aware of so that:
a) We don't have to keep telling you the same thing
b) We can avoid potential problems by being forewarned of various issues.
I've been asking this for 4 weeks. Any chance of an answer?

Thanks, TH.
In answer to the 'are you sure you've finished on Corellia' question. As far as I know, there was nothing more for me to do on Corellia.
When I did the Thale missions, I ran them until he gave me the locked briefcase of cash and told me to take it to 'headquarters'. I took the briefcase and gave it to Borvo (since I was really working for him). He said, "Good". After that he would only say, "Next". He would give me no missions, nor did he give me Pappy Darklighter's gun.
Then the December patch 'fixed' some things in the quest. I went back to Borvo. He now didn't say "Next", he would only tell me he didn't know me and to talk to his guards.
Until the fixes in December, there was a flag in the system that indicated I had given the briefcase to Borvo (thus, he said "Next" instead of "Good" or telling me to talk to his guards).Perhaps someone could start by checking whatever table(s) track a character's mission status with the patrons and see if there are people who have an incorrect status indicator for Borvo. If there are, setting them to whatever status indicates that they are ready to start Borvo's missionsshould fix the problem. Just a few short PL/SQL queries might (hopefully?) get everyone squared away.
My fear is that the 'fixes' in December reset my status flag with Borvo and the only thing that will allow me to complete this is resetting my missions on Naboo AND Corellia (Naboo to run the Borvo's Guards missions so I can get the ledger and Corellia so I can reset Thale to get the briefcase), when (if?) that option is rolled out.![]()

There is a very nasty factory bug where the factory's output hopper gets 'full' any where from 40-80 items. When this happens it shuts down the factory. This may be caused by ghost items that game thinks are in the output hopper but were removed or some how experimentation on factory storage size that doesn't works some how got turned on with the lastest patch. This is a very distruptive bug and is difficult to work around. You can remove crates from the output hopper and place them in the input hopper. However when you are making servers subcomponents you run into storage problems. This is becoming a game stopper for crafter and needs to be hot fixed.
Another issue is Dantoonie and Lok. These are advanced worlds that many people populated with cities. However the servers were never set up to handle that level of population. Now they are very laggy and unplayable at peak times. This is a game stopper. Althought the nightly crash problem was fixed, the horrid lag is still there. What is currently being done about the lag and when will it be done?
Thanks
Sure
There is amanufacturing schematic problem we are working on. Its associated with old schematics and should have some sort of fix for it soon. Exactly what the item was is pretty important. Some schematics were altered (like the architect/DE change) and others are old FWG5 schematics that no longer exist, etc. Like I said, knowing what the item was will help me know what level of attention its getting.
Improving lag is something we are always working on. A bunch of us noticed it this weekend and the programmers are working on a series of changes to improve that. You should see some improved performance in the next couple of weeks.

So many of us in the same boat... I have not been in the game as long, as I had trouble purchasing a copy after release, but I have been involved with the forums since 2002.
It's sad that those of us who have been here so long, racking up hours getting close to 3000, and we are the ones with no jedi, yet some people have been here a matter of weeks, and have their jedi.
Loyalty means nothing when profits are involved. I'm sure TH and the devs would love to give us our slots, but after that, we are a risk to their profits. It's all about risk management. Jedi is meant to be end game. To us the players, it most certainly isn't, but to them, it is. We get jedi, the risk that we leave the gameincreases 100x, because we have "finished" the game.
Like you I'm a long term player and I have every intention of being here for years (the fact that I bought a yearly subscription shows that), but the longer I go without achieving what I have most definitely earned, the higher the risk of my leaving the game early is.I don't hateSOE orit's developers, and I know they wont miss me if I leave, but I am just getting tired of notgetting that which I have paid for in both real money and 3000 or so hours of my time. I have no intention of leaving yet though.
Unlike you, I am a profession complainer and whinger. =p
