I've done 5 professions in the year I've been playing - Tailor, Merchant, Marksman, Teras Kasi, and Artisan, and there's no way that I hit all 5 holo-professions by blind luck. But, I've done all the POIs and have enough other badges to be "one with the force", so I qualify under the new system.Well, which is it?To be clear:
Player A did 32 profs.
Player B met the requirements in the new system BEFORE publish 10 hit live.
Both are eligible for a visit.
Soooo...
If I understand correctly (and I hope I do) player A & B both are in the group that automatically gets a visit from the Old Man (within 1 to 3 days). Am I right ?
PS : damn Lithium boards for cutting "wrong" html
People like you just don't get it do you? We non-grinders were told that there would be a new system, we were told that it would put an end to hologrinding, because in their own words hologrinding became detrimental to the game.
That's why we got expectations of becoming Jedi and didn't start hologrinding! Because we were told we wouldn't have to! Now suddenly it turns out that we should have been all along! It's not our bloody fault that we were lied to!
Ohhh come on you were not lied to... God people get a clue.. The term grinding when used by the dev team means the following...."The mastering of profession after profession only to drop the profession(once mastered) as soon as possible for another.."
The current system does not require you to be 28+ professions to get yer jedi... if you think that the new system reqires you do masters 28+ professions you need to stop yer whining, sit yer asss down and actually become informed about the changes that were made to the system... ALL you whiners out there read only what you want to in order to twist the information into a way to attack the dev team......Personally I hope you all quit.... That way I can enjoy some solid and enjoyable gaming in peace and quiet!

I have one thing to say to people who have recently joined the game and are criticizing the veterans for expressing their utter disdain for the devs. THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT!!!! If there was a single time in this game's history when everything came out and worked as advertisedI cannot remember it. NEVER has a patch worked even 80% right when it is released. When this game first came out there were literally hundreds of issues, some of which have still not been resolved to this day. From factories not working, to bugged quests and NPC's, to the failed hologrinding scheme, the devs have let down veteran subscribers over and over again. To those of you who just joined this game **edit**, you have no idea how many times we have been dissapointed over the last year! The game as it is today is still nowhere near as solid as some MMO's who have been out the same amout of time, or in some cases, less time. Our frustration (veterans) is that this is yet another flopped patch full of bugs and situations that should have been anticipated by the development team. The fact that this patch is about jedi just makes it so much worse for so many people. Also, the devs have proven themselves to be untrustworthy by their own volition, just read TH's post to start this thread and you see that they raised the requirements to get jedi from 5 classes to 8 over the course of the game. This was NEVER announced, and we were promised that this raising of the bar would NEVER happen. So to the 100's or 1000's of people who would have earned jedi months ago if not for this sneakinessI offer my condolences. To those of you who are staying with this ultimately flawed game, have fun, and may the force be with you !

Explain to me how it's not then. Blunderheart said masters of 30+ profs get in automatically. He has never clearly said that those that haven't (like me) get an automatic visit. If I do then fine (assuming that old man actually works, 0 visits for anybody grinder or no says otherwise) but if I don't, then it is back to grinding! If the hologrinders always get in first, then that's how it'll be for months to come until they're all through!

Since there is a large wave of players that will be going through the system, we are going to be monitoring traffic daily as players start and finish the Force Sensitive quests. When enough people have completed their path, we will open it up the village to the next group. Groups 1 – 4 will qualify for a visit when the village traffic has died down. Of course, if you qualify for the visit under the new system, you will automatically be granted a visit from the old man.

There were 4 people in the Village last night on Kettemoor. This virtual valve seemsexcessively tight.

Hologrinding ruined the game. I am personally sick of the dev's serving the vocal majority which are just a bunch of whiners. There are a large portion of players that never post here and are never heard. The fact is this game wasnt ready for release and we have been all paying for beta 4. The devs panic at every turn and seem to only listen to those that cry the most. What about those of us who role play? This is a role playing game but now its filled with a bunch of L33t retards that wouldnt know how to RP if there life depended on it. Nice...
Though I'm behind you 100% on the Role Playing aspect, we both know that the only way to transition from the destructive grinding system to the new content-based system was through some form of compromise to both systems. The grinding is behind us, the consequences and the transition to new content are what remain. If a large percentage of the population quits over this, the ones that remain will be the better for it, and the game will be more enjoyable.
On a side-note, Thunderheart, would it be possible to post an "Astromech Stats" about the number of people reaching the village on each server, for the first 3 days? This would give an impression of how long some have to wait for their visit to the Village, without giving away too much information.

If yer gonna leave leave... if yer gonna stay....stay, but if you give the system a friggin chance you might enjoy it. But for god sake stop the I deserve this, I deserve that, the devs lie, I am quitting look at me I need attention, BS.
