Thread: The Path of the Jedi: Reckoning of Effort

i am talking about the DAMN Profession Grinding before patch 10 dude. And Grinding really is doing something in a repeative action to advance to a higher state. *spend all your time gaining XP your **edit**ing grinding XP*
And all this game is becoming to be is either hours of work and hours of waiting. The main reason MOST *Not all* people got this game was to become a jedi and I know that isnt fully possible but the way to obtain the jedi is hours and days and weeks of waiting and grinding for the that are unlucky
Would you care to pointme toany MMORPG dat doesnt involve any grinding?
Also, you need to know "grinding" is subjective. You can have fun doing so. If you hate it so much, why would you do that? It's either take it or leave it. In my case, I only grind when I feel like it, I don't / won't force myself to do it because I hate to turn my game into a job. So, It all depends on how you play the game, Its all up to you whether you make it fun or you make it another grueling repetitive job.

Now as it seem you get no unlocks for 5 profs left, 1 unlock for 4, 2 for 3, 4 for 2 and 5 for 1. So since i've done 26 profs of which I know 4 were actually holo's looks like i'm definately going to get one tree unlocked. Now how ever slight it maybe I could end up with only one tree cause the other 4 holos could be in the other 6 I did not do. Real nice SOE good way to stick it to the customer base. Now on top of that they changed the requirements mid-stream from 5-8. While not changing the way the holos worked. So for someone like me who's been on since day 1 and stuck with it. Is most likely going to get shafted cause i'd rather of played the game instead of hologrinding all 32 profs.
What really peeves me is the fact they changed the number mid-stream, which then made me have to have 8 hidden profs yet most likely before that I had all my talking holos done and had only to find my hidden one. Here's a question for you TH, if my holo went silent before you increased the hidden holo requirements would I be in the category of only having one hidden left? Most likely not it seems to me. Then to top it off SOE stays quiet all the way up till patch day so no one could complain. Yet theres still no way of knowing what group i'm in or how many profs i'm missing, considering grinding profs no longer matter. The only thing i'm really peeved about is the holo credit we're getting as it seems that alot of people are going to get shafted and will still be stuck grind out XP to convert to force XP. So I say congrats to all those that grinded out profs to unlock, as you will be rewarded and the rest well they said it be fair???????

How about they just make the old man work and visit people properly.

To those who unlocked and are quitting: Can I have your account?
But in all seriousness, The Devs need to have more communication with us. I am fine waiting longer to grind (I don't enjoy it any more then the rest of you), but if we could get some estimate on how long the groups need to wait, that would be great.

The key phrase there is within.
How come almost nobody has gotten a visit? Nobody at all on some servers. People have been waiting around for hours. What are we supposed to do? Wait? Ride our bikes? Are we qualified or not? Is glowyness the qualification? The devs won't say. Blunderheart certainly won't (fine if they don't want to say how, even though EVERYBODY knows, but just say if glowyness is the qualification for the new system!).
Since nobody is getting visited after a day, I can only conclude that the Old Man is broken, and since Blunderheart refuses to clarfiy anything we have a right to be angry. Not to mention that we were all lied to about the 1-3 day wait, which makes me suspect it's 1-3 days to a hotfix like others have said.

Wow they should make you the President of SOE, with reasoning like that you will go far in this world.
Kidding aside, that really is the key point to me, why hasnt anyone been visited yet? And if they have, why havent they been freaking out on the forums about it. You dont want to overload the servers by putting everyone into the same place at the same time, YET you will delay this Old Man visiting people until the last possible moment, and have EVERYONE at the same place.
Also by not telling anyone which group they fall into you are making a fair amount of people ticked off. I really would like to know if I am in group 1 and have the 1-3 day wait you mentioned, or if im in group 4 and have a 1-3 month wait, this would drastically change my outlook on the game. If im in the former group heck ya im gonna stay and play, but if im in the latter, well cancleing my account and just waiting 3 months, getting back on being able to start the quests sounds like a pretty good option, seeing as how it saves me money.
More concrete info is what we want, no more political BS, give us the cold hard numbers. If you say that <blank> number of people will recieve an invite and only if they accomplished <blank> things in game, thats better than no one know what group they fall into. And since I don't know how many "hidden masterys" I did I cant really tell on my own.
