Sorry but I am still kinda confused.
First i want to say that i like the pub 10 and i think that it makes the game more a game again!
When I logged in yesterday I was glowy!
Qualified by the new system!
BUT...
I have once opend a holocron...told me Droid Engineer... I never did it.
So i dont really ever have masterd a Holocron profession as far as i know
Does that mean now that i belong to the hologrinders or to the new system?
If i belong to the Hologrinders i have to wait dunno how long to get visited.
If i belong to the new system i get visited soon.
But to which system do i belong??
Guess thats one of the most central questions here. What system belongs to me??

HEY TH WHY DONT YOU JUST TELL US IF THE OLD MAN IS SPAWNING ALREADY OR NOT ????? ALOT OF PEOPLE ARE WAITING LIKE STUPID IN THE WILDERNESS BECAUSE YOU DONT SPEAK CLEAR WORDS, WHATS SO HARD ABOUT TELLING US????

The staged quests is a horrible idea. I understand that you want to reward the people that grinded professions for the time that they put in. good. The devs have also stated that they are strongly against hologrinding, and wanted to stop it as soon as possible for the good of the game. yeah ok....
So now you punish the people who didn't hologrind and actually played the game for the last 8 months. you make them wait for some unknown time until "the activity in the village has settled down" What constitutes the village settling down? Aren'tmany of the quests run from this villiage? What is the Time estimate for people in the other phasesbefore they will get a visit from the old man? a couple days? 2 weeks? 3 months? 6 months? a year?
I, most likely like many other people out there, don't even care if I ever am Jedi. It doesn't matter to me. I wanted to do these quests that you have been hyping up for the past 8 months. I figured that they must befun if you have been talking about them so much.
I've waited for them for 8 months... If I would have known that I would have to wait another length of unpredetermined time, I would have started the hologrind long ago.
This is the first time I have seriously thought about leaving the game. I can't even bring myself to load the game.
Please provide a time estimate for how long you the phases for the jedi will last.

I honestly haven't read this entire thread, but does anyone else think it's absolute crap that they upped the required professions from 5 to 8 in mid-stream? If that was the case, they should've reprogrammed the holocrons to give seven hints instead of just four. What a bunch of bull.
Changing the rules mid-stream is a huge no-no in my mind. Just like the factory xp nerf. It's no fair to those who come later.

You have never done a Holo profession. Ok, would you say, that you are a Holo Grinder? :-) I guess not.
By the time of Pub10 you were glowy without a hologrind. So your conclusion about beeing qualified by the new system is absolutely correct.
So, what is the question?
You autmatically qualify for the village. You dont belong to the groups. So you will have a visit from the old man in a day or so (TH). As soon asthe traffic caused by the goups goes down.

Looks already as if today is the same as yesterday... Lots of sitting around waiting with no results! We're gonna have to wait a couple more hours for a responce it looks like.. I don't know if I have any patience left with regards to pointless sitting around..?

That's their discretion. The interpretation is yours, not theirs.
If I would have known that grinding will get sooner acceptence in the village I am sure that me as well as other people would have continued to grind abit more.
I distinctively remember that Devs said every profession grinded will be rewarded in pub. 10.
How did you manage to misinterpret that one?
Probably not so virgiously but grinding acouple of professions atleast INSTEAD OF COMPLETELY droping the grind considering the fact that most of us thought that grinders wouldn't be rewarded in such a way like they are now which make all of the non grinders wait for days or weeks or even weeks from the way it looks now! ITs just annoying! All this waiting is a conspiracy to get more money from us! hehe
A lot of people who are complainning seem to be doing so based on the assumption like holo grinder have to wait for 6 months to get in to the village? where did this number come from? I've heard plenty of complaints from test center folks that dathomir turned into a chaos. Not only the lags but the kill stealing to get credits was going on. So, what if they actually let you in immediately.. and you end up with running back and forth between quest giver and wp all day accomplishing nothing but, the frustration? I bet you would be here complainning again. I would take waiting for a few more days or even a week anyday over gettign frustrated, and going LD constantly. At least, i can do something productive while waiting.

Question concerning the timing of the "Old Man Visit". Suppose I am either in the "automatic" category or one of the top groups. I am leaving for vacation this weekend soon and won't be online until at least next Tuesday. If other groups are allowed in at some point, do the groups allowed in before them still have access after that? I would assume this is how it works, but just wanted to make sure.
As far as this publish goes, I have a couple comments:
* Great job with the "New Path", except...
* Couldn't something have been done to eliminate the gating... multiple villages? instanced village? or...
* You should at least inform your customer base before the patch of this gating issue... people who took off work not knowing this little tid bit of information lost money because of it... not I... but still, doesn't make sense to withhold this info until the actual day of The Publish.
Also, could posts be made at each point a new group has been allowed access to the village? Would at least give people Some idea of when they may be getting in...

TH, please answer this.
Heres the scenario:
When i started in Publish 10 and did /checkforcestatus my status was "You barely notice something different about yourself". So i did nyms themepark and got the same message and then i completed Jabbas themepark and got "you feel an inner glow - The force is with you".
I havent used any holocrons so i dont know ifgot any holoproffs. Have 12 Proff badges.
Am i the same as your B-player in your example ? if im not please tell me why...

-> if you check the average time the dev signs in and answers questions.... you'd see that it is approx 8:00... regardless of the time you have locally.. now look at the post times... 5:00!!!! STOP ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS YOU COULD EASILY ANSWER IF YOU HAD 1 BRAIN CELL... if your 'glowy' you'll get a visit eventually... **edit**!

mikheal your wrong .. you can get an inner glow in group 4 or 5 or whatever also .. inner glow doesnt mean your automaticaaly selected .. at least that i understood
