Thread: The Path of the Jedi: Reckoning of Effort
Still confusing. I know I didn't complete many holo professions (1 that I know of, and probably not any more since I only have 7 professions total), but I had all of the badges and was "glowing" when I logged in yesterday. Does that mean I'm Player B and therefore "eligible for" a visit by the old man? If so, does that make me immediately "eligible for" a visit in 1-3 days, or do I have to wait for the Groups ahead of me to finish?

Well, I didn't hologrind at all - in fact, I've never owned a holocron, except for a Sith Holo that I keep as a decoration. I've done 5 professions in the year I've been playing - Tailor, Merchant, Marksman, Teras Kasi, and Artisan, and there's no way that I hit all 5 holo-professions by blind luck. But, I've done all the POIs and have enough other badges to be "one with the force", so I qualify under the new system.
Well, which is it?
To be clear:
Lets say Player A has completed 32 professions before publish 10.
Player B has met all the requirements of the new path before publish 10.
Both player A and Player B are eligible for visits by the old man.

Question: How do you win a game when the goalposts are always moved?
I have participated in this game for over a year and this whole load of bull is far far too late.
This is quite possibily one of the must unrewarding experiences i have encountered while playing a game. I have mastered six professions by playng the game as its meant to be played over the past year and my whole effort over that past year has been reduced to zero. I feel i should be rewarded for my efforts. It may be time to quit.
in a multiplayer game there is no "winning" and they always move the goal posts to keep the game interesting. If you have felt no reward by playing this game, making friends and enjoying the content, then how could you possibly have lasted a year?
How can I trust that group 5 won't become group 20, or that they won't see too many people glowing and delay everyone. Isn't it possible some glowing people are in group 5? I'm betting they are counting glowing people now, and they will count people at each stage and activate stage by stage and they won't let anyone new in until a good number of people have completed all stages, and they will make the last stage active in likea month just in time for JTL...

TH SAID..

i had 6 pro mastered before i did my first holo,
finished my first holo started on my second, then went to my third and it went silent, i then mastered 2 more professions meaning i have done 10 altogether.
when i logged in when the server reset after publish 10 was released i was glowing.
my question, is do i go into one of these groups or do i qualify automatically because i went glowy as soon i logged in and types /che?
Master Doctor/Teras Kasi Master
in game name Andrew
It would be nice if SOE could open a new post with answers to them so we dont have to read so many pages of understandable angry posts and answers to what SOE just revealed about old and new jedi system.
As a player i want to say i am very disappointed...
i play this game since 2 weeks after beta i always helped other players and tried to have fun in the community i definately wasnt a holo grinder since i didnt have done everything else in the game and then got bored ... so yeah i started hologrinding late...
You say you noticed holo-grinding ruined the game ... how about not punishing those players that didnt do it for as long as possible ... you punish the non-grinders by now setting them back on the waiting line for exactly what you would hope wouldnt happen ?
Thats not fair.
And now ... oh wonder .. every player runs around on the server trying to grind badges ??? Did that change anything ? Anything at all ???
So i have 19 professions now and an inner glow ... and i dont even know in what group i am LOL
So what do you expect i do .. as a veteran player who did everything else in the game and is really bored by now due to every new content belongs to the jedi ?
Waiting another possible 10 months to be allowed to that new content ?
Please tell me you revamp this .. please tell me i am not the only one thinking that this is unfair and the wrong way.
i am sorry but i hope you notice i dont write as angry as much other players and dont ban me again for saying my opinion .. im just wondering what you think this game will go to ...
Deathren from gorath
(Pleease how do i even learn in what group i am ... is there a /command ???)

I've enjoyed the game and had fun making friends, but like i've said i've been playing over a year since beta 3 infact and Jedi at the end of the day is what i've always dreamed of. I've played the game enjoyed the content. Jedi is all that remains its unrewarding being that i've not been able to attain it. This system is what should of been in from the start but its far far too late.
With these groups, i pray to god that its only a matter of waiting maybe a few days, 4 groups or 6 groups whatever it is, if they are left for a few weeks, as the village i assume is now in phase 1, if those in groups 4, 5, 6 and so on are left untill the end of week 2 or into week 3, it means they must rush to complete the quest for Phase 1.
I don't think people will be to happy if they fail to complete the Phase 1 quest before the time runs out due to not being allowed into the village coz of the old stranger coming late, which in turn means a long wait of what 18 weeks? before phase 1 is back again for them to try.
I think you guys are all misunderstanding the deal about these phases. Unless I am mistaken, it doesn't matter what phase the village is in, the trees are always going to be the same from phase to phase. Even if you don't hit the village until phase 2, when you go in and take a quest, its for the same branch with the same skill boxes as in any other phase, just the quest is diff and the rewards for doing it are diff. The way they are controling the timing is by only allowing ONE quest per phase.
So, for instance if you hit the village at phase 1 and do a quest to unlock a "combat" branch and a friend does this starting at phase 2, its the same branch with the same skill boxes, just a diff quest with a diff reward.
Now, I have read ALL the Dev posts and yes, I can understand some people's frustrations because the info is still vague, but no where have I read that it will take WEEKS or even MONTHS for the old man to come to those that are in groups. People are just angry (understandable) and blowing this way out of proportion. Please don't make assumptions on the times because for all intensive purposes, we really just don't know, but I doubt that it will take that long.
The only thing I don't like is the fact that most of us have no idea what group we are possibly in. Just knowing that would be great. I have don't some holos plus some other proffessions, got all the badges (minus the vettes and Nym's) and I am glowing (Yay for me). BUT, there is no way for me to tell what group I am in because my 3rd holo was silent. So out of the 8 needed, I know for sure I did 2, but any others are unkown to me. Therefore I have no idea what group I am in because it is possible I could be in any of them.
TH, is there a way that we could get this information via g-mail or something so peeps at least know where they stand in regards to the gate to the villlage? Either way, it's just more time to bank up some XP for conversion, but some more specific info on our placement (for those that are glowing) in the groups would be great.
