then /bug it. Same goes with the non-spawning POIs. Instead of writing about it on the forums (where not all things are read), /bug it and you know the devs will get it. I've /bug-ged two non-spawning POIs and guess what... they spawn now.

Sure, show me a CSR that has ONCE EVER replaced a vendor -- not the contents -- and your point becomes valid. Till then talk about things you know. I've dealt with unresponsive CSRs for a year and you magically think they're actually going to start doing their job?
They cannot even coordinate what the rules are between different problems with merchant as I have documented numerous times over the past year.

Why should I be punishedby having millions of credits worth of inventory deleted if my vendors have a slow month? Why should I be forced to use the GOD AWFUL interface to pull and re-place an item just so my stuff doesnt get deleted?!?!?!
Go ahead and delete my vendors, and you'll see 3 accounts getcancelled.
...the dev crackdown continues..
it takes 14 days to be marked as unused
it takes an additional 14 days to be marked as in danger of deletion and an email is sent
it takes another additional 14 days to be deleted
14+14+14 = 42 days ... if you can't be bothered to check your vendor for 42 days ... then theres something wrong. Thats 42 days of availabity to sell goods ... considering items are only on sale for 30 days on a vendor ... it means nothing is up for sale for 12 daysbeforethe vendorgets deleted.
This is only a problem where vendor neglect is an issue ... at which point who is to blame? the answer is the owner of the vendor.
Except it doesnt work quite that way.

Similar situation.
I have a Custom Orders vendor in the back room of my shop. I login one day, and run to the back room for droid parts and some resources. No Custom Orders vendor. I was like, **edit** is this? So I check my email. Got an email earlier in the day saying it was unused and I should visit it soon.
The vendor had a Chance Cube on it named something like, "Offer your order backpacks to me for 1k!" and it poofed with the vendor.
Whoopity doo, a Chance Cube. But don't cry to me when it's your4 million credit order. Because I'm not rerunning it through factories and losing more creditson resources. I lose, you lose.
Oh, and repeatedly selling a Chance Cube on my Custom Orders vendor is SUCH a GRAND addition to my game! Can Merchant get even MORE FUN? PLEEEEASE????
Can you please set vendors to only accept maintenance in 1 credit incremements? How about having to stand next to my vendor, so that I can replace their clothing every 20 seconds which they keep taking off! If your vendor gets naked, you lose EVERYTHING! Now THAT would be the same calibre of fun! What about pyromaniac vendors, who you must douse with water every 3 seconds, or else they may erupt in flames and destroy themselves AND the house they're in?
I'm wondering how long it'll take SOE to devise a way for a chain with a lock on it to appear out of my CD-ROM drive, ensnare me, and force me to spend more time staring atand manipulating their uninspired Merchant profession so that I can DO SOMETHING in this game other than click buttons on an annoying UI that lacks utilitarian functionality.

/bug goes to devs, not CSRs.
I don't know what to tell you about the fact that you already lost the vendor... you might just be out of luck there. I wasn't saying that you could get it back, I was saying that it needs to be reported so they the CODE is fixed in order to prevent future occurances of the same problem. However, if no one /bugs it than the devs aren't going to know about it (other than the fact that they read the feedback threads).

NEVER EVER AGAIN, OR THE PUPPY DIES!
I knew about the kittens. I didn't know that every time you play Counterstrike, God kills a puppy. (Please, won't someone think of the puppies?)
Ob10.3: Furniture holding items = good. (Pity it doesn't give us more storage per lot, but 75 * 20 = 1500 items per lot would be a strain on the database.)
Vendor deregistration after emptiness = good. Vendor autodeletion = teh evil. Many players keep a vendor (even an empty one) for purposes of purchases and sales from auctions.
I realize the database is incapable of scaling, but now that there is a skill point cost associated with having such vendors, I can't imagine every player is going to maintain one anyway. Plus, there's the upcoming character/lot purge to further alleviate scaling issues.
Bottom line: Isn't the SWG economy illiquid enough without yet another disincentive to keep a vendor? And aren't SOE's support costs high enough that adding something guaranteed to generate a high number of CSR tickets for autodeleted vendors is a Bad Move from a support cost point of view as well?

explain how you can have millions worth of inventory in an unused vendor? .... that's what I thought. you can't. If you do you're charging 1mil for a looted CDEF.
Okay maybe you do have great things in your vendor - all you have to do is stop in and do something to reset the timer.

Jedi should now be able to completely clear their visibility after 3 weeks if they don't do anything else to increase it during this time. Visibility is gained when drawing your lightsaber or using force powers for each NPC or non allied PC within range.

- Unused Vendors - Vendors who go too long without being used will get deleted from the game. The only events that constitute use are placing a new item for sale on the vendor, or a customer buying an item from the vendor. Checking a vendor's status, paying maintenance, withdrawing sales, having offers placed, or accepting offers are all events that do not reset the Last Used timer. If a vendor goes 14 days without having a new item placed for sale, or an item purchased, then the vendor gets flagged as Unused. If a vendor remains Unused for a 14 days, it becomes in danger of getting deleted. When this happens, the player will be sent an email warning. If the vendor continues to be unused for an additional 14 days, the vendor gets deleted. Any items for sale on the vendor, items in the Stock Room, and offers to that vendor will be deleted with the vendor.
Tiggs -
14 days for an empty vendor is ok, but 14 days of an unused vendor does not allow for a merchant to actively play around with the economy of the game.
With our increased number of vendors many of us are branching out. We're dropping vendors in new places and puttin up merchandise. We need to test the new market and find what sells there at what price point. We simply need at least 2 weeks to just do that. We need time to learn "ok product X doesnt sell well here... I need to adjust the price and see how it goes for a few weeks" or "ok product x doesnt sell at all here...I'll put up some product B and see how that goes for a couple weeks."
Again, 14 days for an empty vendor is ok. But we really should have 4 weeks for a vendor that has merchandise before it moves to the "flagged as unused" state. Nothin being purchased does note equal unused ... there may be a Merchant actively watching it's activity or lack there of and guaging a market ....playing the game ... trying to make a business turn around. Let us do that.

they'll only delete EMPTY vendors that are UNUSED in 28 days. Sounds fine with me.
you are totaly FALSE. if "you" dont put up items IN the vendor over a period of time SOE will DELETE IT WITH !!!!! ALL !!!!! items in it.
/from publish notes today...

Not only that but... items expire from the vendor in 30 days so you'd have to relist them at about that time anyway! Gesh people, stop whining and use your brains for once. Oh wait, I forgot, this is a web based forum of delinquent SWG players with nothing better to do than complain and whine. Sorry. Forgot. My bad.
Here, have some cheese.
