i see this announcement, but is it really proof of an extended respec period?

a) it could be a typo and b) its not clear whether it is the duration specifically for non-crafters or for everyone

im really hoping a Dev will cofirm/clarify this today

Please make clear about respec. Is it 3 weeks or 2 weeks. Non-combat profession or all professions?

When does the respecing period end for us crafters?

Three weeks from the time you first logged in after the CU was published.

In Tiggs' post about the non-combatant respec..she states that the total respec period is 3 weeks from first log in. My understanding is it was 2 weeks.

Was it extended another week to allow "overlapping" so a crafter who logged in day 1 has a week to play with his/her template?

If so does this apply to everyone, or just crafters?

The total respec duration is three weeks per player, regardless of what types of skills you are changing.

One other note: if you dropped crafter or entertainer skills to try combat skills, you should be able to respec back and forth. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that Novice, Standard and Elite skills points can only be spent on skills in equivalent categories (novice for novice, standard for standard and elite for elite).

TH, this is WRONG.

Novice for Novice is true. But if you have 2 standard points they equate to 1 elite point. The reverse is also true as 2 elite points are equal to 1 standard point.

I have done this many times and encouraged my guild to do the same. This allowed them to rapidly advance elite professions.

This is not entirely true, TH. You can use elite for standard and novice, and you can use standard for novice, but once you do this those elite or standard points you spend are permanently downgraded. They system works uphill down, but not downhill up.

Interesting. Just to clarify for everyone:I've been able to spend elite points to gain standard skills at a 1:2 ratio. In other words, something that costs 2 standard points costs me one elite point to acquire.

The respec window WILL spend your standard points where possible before dipping into your elite points. BUT, let's say you drop TKM and become 0444 TK, leaving you with x elite points, and 0 standard points, any standard skills you acquire will subtract from your elite points. So, drop any novice skills you can FIRST, otherwise YOU MAY LOSE RESPEC POINTS, since any leftover standard points MAY NOT be spent on elite points.

How can we find out when we first logged in after the CU? There has to be someway that we can plan our last respec, otherwise we may get stuck with a template that we didn't want.
