Hi All,
Ok I was look into the new stuff in publish 8 and yes I was happy with most until I came across the advertising bots (spam bots) I am not really happy about this as going near a starport is currently lag hell and I hoped this was going to be sorted out and not prompted by the game makers. I was thinking of two possible solutions to the current spaming issue they are:
1) have a dedicated marketing place/commercial building were people can go and AFK spam this will enable people who are looking for something to go to the dedicated spam area and see if what they want is there.
If the above is to work there will need to a ban on AFK chat outside starports and maybe a even a chat filter for constantly repeted words.
2) You should be able to pay for advertisement boards!!! you could do it in a few ways have billboards in starport's, cantina's and Bazaar canters advertisement will be have rent to pay or they will stop been shown the boards will be constantly changing i.e video boards so that every one's advertisements comes up. The second way to do this would be to have an advertising terminal (yellow pages) so you can search for a armor shop / on Naboo and you would get your listing's of all that match your search along with a short description of the shop by the add placer and a way point to download.
I think that maybe number two would be the best option and both suggestions in it could work well i.e advertising boards for the really big business and ad terminals as a cheaper alternative. Doing this would help with both lag and spicing up the crafting/merchant trades.
Please let me know if you like this idea.
Best regard,

Funny I go through 6 pages of stuff and get to the end and someone is posting on one of my annoyances. I have a large number of people ignored for spamming their wares in starports. The barker droids (although I have not yet seen them) are not able to be ignored from what I understand.

First all the ap point spamming will clear up after the hologrind ends so I will deal with if for now.

As for the advertisers, my suggestion if something from Anarchy Online (I think this is where I remember this from) and that is an auction chat channel. It can be a default chat tab so new players know about it, but existing people will have the ability to make and auction tab so they can go to it when they want something. This is basically a guild chat that you can talk to like: /auction uber cdef pistol looted from a rag tag kook dmg 15-21 spd 23. The barker droid could be set up to automatically bark to this channel. The reason people would want to use this channel instead of spatial is that it could be galaxy wide or planet wide. I could then sit at a starport and only see conversation, ahhh. If want to buy something I switch over to my auction chat tab and see what it for sale. If I am looking for something specific I could inquire there. Real time galaxy trade forums basically. These would need to be accessible to anyone in order you be useful with advanced options available to merchant perhaps. My take on the extremely annoying spam issue.

As of yesterday, came across an imp smack talking another imperial. They both were exchanging foul words and doing other cruel things. I was thinking it would be cool at like the high imperial rank that you can demote a player and/or arrest them. So this wouldnt be abused, the person with the highest rank that wants to perform one of the action above, he would need to purchase a camera from an imperial npc, he then will need to take 2 pictures of the abuse with the camera and you can create a data disk. He will then need to write a small report of what was going on, the data that he wrote will also be created into a data disk that he than can combine with the pictures for a report. The player commiting the actions will be demoted, charged a fine ( a reasonable price 5-10k), arrested, or all 3... If the report is not reasonable, the player writing the report will get demoted and need to pay the fine that was charged on the other player. The player that was demoted will have his rank returned and all money that was fined...

My other idea is able to arrest someone. If you find a smuggler or anyone selling illegal goods you can take a picture and write up a report explained in the previous topic. The Imperial/rebel will be set on autofollow and cannot interact with any other players. He/she will be then taken to a prison and fined ( a reasonable price 5-10k) if a rebel, if imp demoted. As stated above if the report is not reasonable the Person arresting will be dealt with accordingly....

This will add a more feel of the imperial crackdown, only imperials of the highest rank can perform such actions. This will also cause rebel players to be more cautious....

This is a letter i wrote to thunderheart... Please tell me if u agree and just type /sign if u agree... /deny if u dont like the idea

I have a small suggestion , would it be possible to let master crafters, such as armor and weaponsmiths, chose what skin the finished item has, that would allow for a HUGE change in the comp armor /uber elite weapon clones out there.

my 2 cents

Ok I would like to see one thing. Duel wielding. This would be awsome for both pistolier and fencers. I'm actualy neither one but I do think that it would make a great addition to the game. First of all we do see Jengo Fett duel wielding in Clone wars and second of all I think that this would aliviate a lot of the pistoliers who complain that they have been over nerfed.

I think you could do some cool things with this too. Like special abilities that only work when duel wielding. I might even go pistolier just to try it out if you added this.

I've been preaching it for as long as I can remember...err well as soon as I decided to ascend the BH tree.

Player bounties should definetly be incoperated into the game. I'm talking if someone does you wrong then you should have the right to hire a BH to go after that person. After all isn't that sort of our creed. "Cleaning up the scum of the universe."

Now some people might say,"Well there would be to much griefing in the game." There are several things that one can do in order to solve this problem.

1. Set a min. of 50k -100k for bounties.

2. You must be a Master BH in order to be eligible for hiring.

3. When a person finally finds a MBH they two must proceed to agree on a price, once the price is agreed upon the money is then transfered to a "holding account" where it sits until the BH has completed his/her mission. However, should the BH fail to complete this mission, by eitherjust giving up or being incapped, the money will not be given back to the player issueing the bounty, but instead it will be "donated" to the Spynet Operatives. After all they have to eat to right?

4. A player can of course not have several bounties on several players. However if the person decides to hire out more than one bounty on the same person they should be able to, of course additional fees will apply, but they all go to the "pot" and which ever BH kills the person first wins.

Now some people might say,"Well what about the multi-multi-multi-multi-millionares in the game? Aren't they just going to be able to run rampid with their money?." They answer to this is YES! of course they will be able to if they so choose. I mean they earned the money didn't they? SHouldn't they be able to spend it however they wish? I'm sure when you acquire you several million if you ever do you'll be able to spend it how you please. Plus this will add to the "starwarsy" feel of the game. I mean Jabba is a rich mofo right? And he puts bounties out all the time. SO GET OVER IT!

Another, idea for the BH mission terminals are factional bounties. Now what this is, is when a player gets really low on one of the more prominent factions such as the Jabba, Imperial, Rebel, Hutt, Valarian, ect... Now the concept behind this is that if you do reach we'll say -5000 in a powerful faction then you will proceed to have a bounty put upon your head by that faction. IF perchance a BH takes up a bounty on a particular player (which should only allow for one BH per person b/c the bounties are not as severe as Player Hired Bounties) they automatically get +4000 faction points for the faction that hired them out thus keepingbounties from reapeting themselves. Now I'm not saying that this will happen ALL THE time when a player reaches -5000 of a powerful faction, I'm just talking some of the time.

Oh yeahalmost forgot. Also perhapsthe Smuggler proffession should be able to be flagged for BH missions, but of course as you go up the Smuggler tree the less prone to be"caught" you are. Thus once you reach MS you will be imune to the BH flag.

How about putting the range to target before the target name so it will always show regardless of how long the targets name is.

Itwould be nice for players and guilds to have the ability to assign a destination to a player, and get some kind ofsystem message that the player did in fact get there. So players can make their own quests like go the end of the narglatch cave.

Also, the abilty to place a NPC or creature in a buildable zone that other players can attack, but the person that puts the creature can place loot items of their choosing on the creature or NPC, Make them non-aggro accept to maybe a player list you can set per creature. This would be great for guild special assigments for "quests" that guild leaders can set up. Basically a build your own quest and decide your own loot.

The gambling at the hotel is terrible, it would be nice to see vendors where players could actually program there own simple games. Things along the lines of guess the number, etc.

The last thing is higher actors to play the main characters. Remove them from the static spawns and let them show up only at rare occasions. You can control access to them when they do show up for special missions, but only characters who have shown or earned the ability to do the missions will get to, like high ranking rebels or imperials. But to keep the people that can't get those the missions directly the ability to see the movie characters stage battlefields where different characters show up to help with the battles.

I'm sure somebody has had to have thought of this before, but this is an idea that could have balanced out the Crackdown a lot of rebels complained about...

Bio-Engineers should be able to craft a Bio-Signature Mask. Make it a Spray, food, drink, whatever...basically it temporarily hides your actual faction by making you an Overt of the opposite faction. The effect lasts until it wears off, or you perform an action which would gives away your actual faction. So a rebel could appear to be an imp, (how funny would that be when said rebel gets incapped by his own faction) to either safely travel through an Imp dominated city to catch a shuttle, spy on somebody etc... As the effect deteriorates, the chance of being detected increases until it wears off entirely. Perhaps getting caught doing a faction action would require you be turned Overt instead of just a TEF if you were covert before the mask. However if you make it out clean, no TEF or Overt status.

Image Designers should be able to craft Make-Up Kits, which would temporarily change your physical appearance, as well as allow your displayed name to be different than your actual name. Thus enhancing the Bio-Sig Mask by helping you get past opposite factions who may actually know your name or appearance by sight. Obviously there would have to be limitations...a wookie couldn't really pull off attempting to look like a human. Again, make the effect temporary.

Combat-Medics could be given the ability to harvest or collect Bio samples for the Bio Engineers from humanoid corpses.

Perhaps even make available enhanced Bio-Sig scanners purchased with FP which could increase the chance of seeing past a mask.

I would like to see additional "profession based" armor certifications. (specifically : TKA and other Melee based professions).

For example, a Master TK Artists would have the ability to where armor (robes...think monks) that would have defenses against the elements and low encumbrance. Even better idea, would to have quests for people who mastered their professions to create a schematic for armorsmiths. For example, A Master TK Artist would want to create robes that give themselves special bonuses against fire and ranged attacks. The Master TK Artist would have to collect certain elements, hides, bones, other components, etc to create a special schematic (one time use only) that he or she would then give to an Armorsmith to create.
example:
a tailor made combat robe
special hide from a quenker
blood from a rancor to be processed by a bio engineer
etc...etc...etc...
Master TK Artists would then (using a profession based crating station) combine the items into a schematic
The schematic would then tell the Master TK Artist what they would have to collect for the Armorsmith to use to make the robe.

just an idea...

Despite posting so far back, I hope that this gets noticed.

My suggestion to Thunderheart is that the hard cap on Bazaar Auctions be removed, (so that people can't put an unbuyable object up) however, this would 'only' be a removal of the cap insofar as purchasing. There would of course have to be an injunction preventing a player from bidding on their own auctions and a check on any player bidding to make sure they have the appropriate funds (which would be 'used' until the auction ended, whereupon the funds would be returned to any 'losing' players) This would make it more likely to prevent fake auctions that are currently just used to advertise, as well as making it worthwhile to actually place auctions 'on' the bazaar. With the current maximum of 6000 credits 'nobody' puts anything of value up on the bazaar. As it currently stands, the option of 'auction' on the bazaar is too limited to be of any worth.

That idea about the auctions was really good.

I think that there should be no limit on auctions....and the bazaar takes 10% of the money paid for the item. That would be the disadvantage of placing it on the bazaar instead of a vendor.

I see that no red names have given us any answers to our questions, or feedback on our ideas for the last couple days. We need more feedback on this stuff, and more answers for our questions. Answers that aren't vague.

Got an idea for a new dungeon. By doing missions for Boss Nass you should be able to enter a new dungeon a abandond gungan underwater citydamaged a long time ago during the Trade federation invasion and now crawling with various monsters. To get there you have to help Boss Nass so a gungan can drop you of and pick you up with a gungan bungo similar to using shuttles to get to the corvette. Loot could be things like gungan lance "electropoles" and gungan boomers.
