I was a devout fan of this game since release, and there have been many great ideas implemented into this game. In contrast, there have also been many poor ideas that hold this game from reaching it's full potential.

YEAH **edit** make the robes invisible to normal people and they see us wearing brown cloaks and the jedi can see us with our robes

Game balance went out the window with jedi. just seen 1 jedi walk throug 50 pvpr's without taking a scratch..with nothing but 1 cm and 2 atsts (from a base) for support.


A server Without jedi for us ...(i guess minority? considering its been announced that EVERYONE wanted the jedi revamp) to actually play and have fun and deal with the old imballances, that have yet to be fixed.


Never complained much about stackers and CM's other than teasing em.. Cause there was a way to counter it..


Watching 1 jedi who probably AFK grinded to guardian walk through all my friends.. Is defenately enough to make me start looking for another means of entertainment.


If it was you complete goal to make this game into "JEDI and the fodder that follow them" I Sure wish you would have announced it in the beginning instead of "there MIGHT be jedi in the game..but they will be rare" ..


It would have saved me 10 months worth of money ..on 2 accounts no less.. Why do i feel robbed? lol

One Year ago....

IGNPC: On the subject of Force Sensitivity and Jedi (hey, we just can't resist), we know there's no hard limit on their numbers. However, can you offer any insight into a rough number that your organic system is currently targeting? Also, if not now, do you plan on ever releasing any further information on even just the beginning stages of what it might take for a player to become FS? Does the system employed even allow for a defined approach to the quest?

Haden Blackman:
We're purposefully holding back information on Force Sensitivity and Jedi because we want Jedi to be rare and mysterious. We don't have a "target" for the number of Jedi or Force Sensitives in the game; again, since it's a rather organic system, it's not something we want to try to control through any numerical limits. It will be interesting to see what happens in Beta, though.

In terms of the Jedi system and information about it, if we find that we're being too restrictive, we can always loosen up later - it's much more difficult to tighten controls after launch.

GameSpy: How do you keep the incredibly powerful Jedi from throwing the game out of balance? What safeguards are you putting in place to avoid "L33T kids" running around killing players with Force powers?


Dan Rubenfeld: Jedi can't just run around attacking players at will. Like all player characters, they can attack members of the opposite faction -- so, a Rebel-aligned Jedi can attack an Imperial character. While Jedi Masters are powerful, attaining that status is a rough road, so we don't expect Jedi Masters to dominate the game.



Today...


The Jedi Ranking System is an entirely new level of Jedi vs. Dark Jedi PvP gameplay that is above and beyond what existed in the old system. Now, upon completion of the Jedi Knight Trials, a Jedi will be flagged permanently Overt members of their faction; Light Jedi will be flagged Rebel faction and Dark Jedi will be flagged Imperial faction. These changes are part of a new type of experience created for PvP encounters as Light and Dark Jedi clash in exciting battles in order to gain or hold Force Ranking. Killing members of the opposite faction will increase this Force Ranking number, yet killing the same person over and over will only yield experience for the first kill. To maintain a balance in the Force, there is a decay timer that must complete its duration before the dueling Jedi can again get experience for killing that same player.

jedi knight trials...
the graul marauder spawn is much too rare
already spent 6 days, all day, looking for this creature. in a big group with master rangers, and still nothing.
please increase the spawn rate of the graul marauders

The Jedi Robes are useless and unless you go up in the defensive trees you get beat badly, armored vs Jedi Initiates in a robe w/o defensive tree skills = dead jedi Initiate. Please consider rethinking the issues with defenses.

No way...


jedi are the "bread n' butter" for the devs. Story plot and authenticity mean nothing. This game is a business to them.In life, things don't alwaysrise totheir full potential...and sometimes it's a **bleepin**shame.


I had high hopes for this game in the beginning.


Oh well.


If you recall what the wise Yoda once said:


"There is another..."


He's right. SWG isn't our last hope.


Stay tuned for EQ2, Guild Wars, Middle Earth Online, Matrix Online...etc, etc.

But after pub9 came out all you see is jedi knights EVERYWHERE. being an impi like to fight in some pvp. but now all you see is jedi every stalking you killing you every second. A bit big, but direct to the point. The current status of Jedi in the game is ruin the feeling of the era. If Jedi is allowed to run around fighting lightsabre duels without fear of repressals from the Empire it is rediculous.


Also the Jedi is over powered and have no restrictions, from what I have seen, in how they may behave.


All Jedi should be forced to behave according to Jedi code (dark or light) or start lose Jedi skill boxes. They should also go blue glowie (or red for the evil ones) when they die. They should be forced to remain in that state fora week, unless of course you once again reintroduse the permadeath for Jedi. If a Jedi Die and enter glowie stat they should only be visible for those with open forceslot, and only be able to comunicate with these. They should also be incapable of physical/forceinteraction with anyone else.


You need to introduce the Imperial hunt for Jedi. They should pass though every city and check all they see for force powers. If you have them you should get attacked by an overwhelming force, which should include Darth Vader if you have good force skills (just make him invincible, and able to stop anyone from running away). Then maybe we should start having a little resemblence to the era we are supposed to be in, with Jedi HIDING from the Empire instead of running around lightsabre dueling in starports.
