Thread: Publish 7: Major Features

Iunderstand your point but the way I see it is, imagine you are a Jedi and with the new special improvements to BH inthispublishyou get a bounty on you (and the tracking works). A BH fires upon you while you are out hunting on Dath, you setup a macro to automatically pull your vehicle from DP and have you mount, boom you are gone. That doesn't sound very fair, now does it. By the way I appreciate the compliement, I agree I'm a pretty smart guy. Thanks!
And if you read my post, you would see that I already kicked out "the way you see it." Can't that bounty hunter just pull their vehicle and chase? In fact, wouldn't that bounty hunter already be on their vehicle searching the area for the jedi? This does not change pvp, other than to add "chasing" as an exciting aspect of it (like it currently is in game).
Besides that, what makes you think that you will be able to pull your vehicle in your camp in less than 30 seconds? The devs are nerfing pet calling in ALL areas, meaning the delay will be universal. They don't want people insta-pulling AT-ST's and rancors in towns any more than they don't want it outside of towns.
Think about what you are saying dude...you are supporting a universal 30 second wait time on vehicles everywhere, and your camps won't help you.
As I said, this change does nothing positive...it just makes it annoying to pull vehicles.
- Melee attackers now get a To Hit bonus when attacking targets with ranged weapons.
Wait till Publish 8 if things continue through like planned.

Seriously I'm just glad I can move stuff up and down in my house now.
Atleast the Publish did not go like this:
Rifleman-Placed a hard cap on speed of 10 seconds
Rifleman-Reduced the damage of all Specials by a factor of 2, all specials reduced to zero do no damage.
Rifleman-Removed all defence and placed a penelty on rifles were if their equiped your 10 times easyer to hit.
Rifleman-If you DB someone in combat you lose 1,000 FP.

I think intimidate (or at least Wookiee Roar) should work on some droids. Chewie scared the oil out of that little MSE droid in ANH...
You know, that's a good point. Droids are more than machinery, they have personalities; they should be subject to intimidate, warcry and Wookiee Roar, but not poisons and bleeds.
You might make the argument that the same is true of AT-STs since they have a human crew... but then it's hard to intimidate a tank crew with your vibro-knuckles...
Then again, we don't want to get to carried away with sub-categorizations of what effects what, or we'll get bogged down.

Camp Restrictions Removed: After Publish 7, players will no longer be required to be in camps to pull out Vehicles, Mounts, Droids or Pets and can pull them out wherever they are, eliminating the player inconveniences of having to find rural areas far from cities, lairs and other no-build zones in order to build a camp. The basic rules of calling Vehicles, Mounts, Droids or Pets are:
· A player will not be able to call a vehicle/mount/pet/droid during combat or 60 seconds after combat is concluded.
· There is a 30 second delay after you call for a vehicle/mount/pet/droid before it will generate.
· A player will not be able to call a mount/pet/droid while mounted or on a vehicle.
· A player will not be able to call a vehicle while mounted or on a vehicle.

Removing the requirement of camps to call a vehicle is a good idea. Not being able to call a vehicle during combatis a good idea. However, 60 seconds after combat is concluded is a bit long, and doesn't seem to make much sense to me. If you can give me reasons as to why you think the 60 second delay is necessary, they better be good. In fact, I should note that I'm more interested in the "why" than the "what."
Also, the 30 second delay just can't happen, unless it's only while outside of camps, and there is no delay while in a city, camp, etc etc. Even so, I think auto-storing needs to be fixed before this change is implemented. It doesn't make sense to punish players with a delay when the storage of a vehicle wasn't their fault. So in essence... the 30 second delay should only apply to situations in which currently, the vehicle cannot be called at all.
All this will really bring about is no one storing their vehicles. Ever. I can't speak for people who use mounts/droids/pets, since I myself have never used them, but I don't see the justification for the delays.
What I'm thinking was pointed out to me in another thread I don't recall... it seems that whenever the Devs want to give something, they think it shouldn't be free. Hence, the idea to make vehicles callable anywhere, but to put a delay on it. I don't know if it's part of training, your work ethics, or what, but every now and then, there doesn't need to be an offset for a change like this.
Before putting delays on vehicle/pet/mount/droid calling, please fix autostore. I'll admit I'm an impatient person when I'm playing games, and I don't want to wait around for a minute after combat so I can pull my vehicle after it's auto-stored to continue the mission I was on before I was attacked.
And after trying to post this twice... I now noticed why people don't like it when TH posted in HTML. Stop it! Naughty TH, naughty!

If you ask me Lires, commandos and Pikemen should hold hands and start sing "kombaya my lord"
If we sing false enough, making it sound like a "nerf cry", maybe they listen to us
haha yeah...
I was a commando way back in the day (prepatch flamethrowers, you know the kind where it would take 20 seconds per special and did like 100-300 damage a special if you could hit them). Right now, I think pikeman need a bit more change, if I remember correctly they have been asking LONGER than any other class out there... poor kids
As for commando, I wasn't too happy with that 2.5x modifier but the DEVs know what they are doing, so just let them work with it. There are many combinations you can do with commando, preferably the favorite one master tka/commando. Commando is still a tough contender, but it's current only weapon of choice is the flamethrower. As TH stated, the acid rifle should undergo some changes, so I wouldn't pound on him for what they are doing. Don't worry, the big picture will come soon enough.
Now, I know some of you guys gonna hate me for this, but how does someone hit me harder with fists than a gun
Or how does a rifleman hit me from 10m with perfect accuracy
Don't worry, I have full trust in their ability to make the combat system effective for every profession. Rome wasn't built in a day ya know ![]()
