Thread: Publish 8: Various Gameplay Changes

Imperial Crackdown became a faction farm so what do you do.
Bring in a Storm Trooper that puts to shame AT-ST's...That's what you call progressive thinking...Not
Didn't you think of just removing FP awards from ST's in cities?
Creating progressively harder spawns to when people start culling the ST's.
Perhaps just balance out combat, like the preview to Publish8 promised to do...odd that there is nothing about it now it has gone live.
So, now it requires a group effort to Kill a Storm Trooper....That's a great idea...This is just like EQ.
This isn't a storm trooper that you need to travel to a special location to find, oh no...this is one that stationed outside Star Ports. Rebel Guilds will need to organise raids just to leave planets.
I can understand why you clamped down on Faction Farms, it needed doing but once again it's the laziest botch of a fix that can is implemented.
Hey, ignore us, we don't need balance, just throw in big HAM stats and Resists and we'll all become CM/MRM.
You made us too powerfull withDoc Buffs and then Food...So fix it and take out these Krayt style HAM npc's.
Please.

After this patch I have had a bit of fun...
got 13 survey droids, sent them out takes about 48 - 58 minutes for them to report back, need to have a survey tool in main backpack of the type you want to search for, you will not get the tool back droid takes it with them.
On wanderhome there was a Imp invasion in Coronet, rebel players were plenty and we took out 3 waves, first wave just troopers, second troopers and ATST's, third ATST's and Nova, now Nova troops were nasty even for a group of 30 reb's it took a long time to finish them off, we were victor's. after third wave was complete there wasnt any messages or anything about that invasion.
In Bestine later on some people were there and saw a wandering Imp captain, a reb said something the Captain thought was rude and the captain knocked the guy out and Fined him 10Kcr, there was a newbie there that had no idea about this and now he is 30Kcr in the hole, come on now 30K for a newbie it is allreay a pain starting out, its a great way to get newbies to stop playing this game right away, or keep re rolling there charaters for not knowing about the fine.
Macro in fist slot, ticket in second slot.
/ui action toolbarSlot01;
/pause 3;
/ui action toolbarSlot00;
Just stand next to the ticket droid and hit that macro, sure the shuttle will still take however long.. but at least you can go get a beer without fear of missing it.

Tell me again how 1 player taking out every Stormtrooper in a city is Star Wars? Please remember Rebels: You are not the heroes of the Rebellion. You are simply no-named soldiers in the army, much as the Imperials are.

Nova Troopers are stuipid and un-star warsy. Getting a TEF in a crackdown city should not mean instant death for the rebel. Its not like killing them granted some amazing amount of faction anyway, what like 10 faction points? There isn't even anything worth while to spend Rebel Faction on.
I hear this from alot of Rebels. From alot of Rebels who know that FPs will get them factional-ships in the upcoming SE. Tell me again easy/free faction points for rebels means nothing, will you?
So basically only imps have faction farms now with our rebel bases, if this is the case then I now call on all rebel guild to pull up all our faction bases. Let's not give the imps there faction farms anymore.
If the Imperial players are so upset about faction farming, then they should be the ones to do something about it. There are plenty of crackdown troops to support an Imp player as they engage a Rebel.
That's an ignorant and narrow-minded comment on your part. If the Imperials don't like it, we should spend all day and night of our personal game time in order to babysit NPCs that Rebels can take down in clusters? No thank you. It's also incredibly hard taking on a group of GTEFers.
The only ignorant thing is your response as now the only ones with a faction farm are imperials going after are npcs with their super AT-ST's.
I'm usually not this upset about changes, but ramping up the HAM on STs is not the "interesting and challenging" gameplay that you are looking for.
Oh, so what you're saying is you don't want the Stormtroopers to be the "feared/walking death" troops that they are s'possed to be? Read up on the SW Databank, Stormtroopers are the elite fighting squad of the Empire. They strike fear in the hearts of all who see them. And now that they're up to par with what the databank considers them, all the Rebels are mad that they can't just sit alone in a city all by their lonesome and farm mad faction points for that shiny new X-Wing they have their eye on?
Yes sir, and they went down faster then a hooker on hollywood blvd.
So why should the imps get god like soldiers with more ham and resists then a freaking juvinelle krayt dragon??? I guess now that a rebel needs to leave a planet we need to take a group of 20 elite rebels with us just to get a damn ticket and leave the planet (that is if anyone of us survive that one nova trooper)
Amen! If the devs want a fixfor ST's falling faster than flies, then make them tougher. However, making them INSANELY tough is not a solution. A 250k HAM ST is not a solution, it's a game killer. It didn't take Luke and Han a squad of 20 rebels to kill one ST. Where is the continuity? Make them tougher, but not impossible. I don't mind the 30k to 40k HAM STs, but 100k is nuts. 250k means I'm putting the VKs on the wall, and going back to crafting. Since when were stormtroopers impossible for a jedi to kill?

You mean, both sides have the same sort of faction farms now, do you not? Taking your ability to farm unlimited faction from a Imperial-controlled city does not take your faction farms from anywhere else in the Galaxy. And since when did Imperials have a city they could faction farm unlimited Rebels at? Oh yeah that's right...they don't have any unlimited faction farms in the game on par with what Rebels were pulling at major cities...

You must be playing a different game than I am friend. Super AT-ST? The only time we had a Super AT-ST in this game was the first couple of months...and then the Rebel community got that pet nerfed not once, not twice, but three times.
Get your head settled and think about what you're saying: Because you can no longer farm an unlimited amount of faction points from a Major City, you think you have in one fell swoop lost every single opportunity you have in the Galaxy to farm faction? And in the same instance Imperials have gained access to some unlimited farms hidden all over the Galaxy? With some new Super AT-ST we've never seen before? Interesting...

They sure did...to the heroes of the Rebellion. Last I knew, nobody named Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa or Chewbacca was controlled by a human player. And if you aren't playing one of those heroes, you are not a hero in the Rebellion. You are some nobody soldier just like every single one of those NPC stormtroopers out there. You don't get 1-shot kills thru reinforced armoured troops, you get your ass handed to you just like any other non-hero of the Rebellion would have had happen to them.Ask Echo Team on Hoth how invincible they were...

Imps don't get God-like soldiers with more HAM and resists. Those aren't controllable for us, remeber? If your'e asking why the Empire itself gets God-like soldiers, it's rather simple: In this point of the Star Wars timeline, the galaxy is under the control of the Empire. A ruthless Empire that rules thru fear, opression and tyranny.
As for needing 20 elite Rebels to take leave a planet only to hope you survive that Nova Trooper...don't attack him. You can't expect a group of Rebels to just stroll into an Imperial-controlled City and just shoot wildly at Stormtroopers - they weren't stupid enough to try that in the movies because they all knew w/o a shadow of a doubt if they were to attack the Imperial Army head on it would be a slaughter. And not a slaughter of Stormtroopers.
I see the note about Dancers/Musicians being able to buff over current buffs was removed, does this mean the functionality was removed or the note was just left out accidentally.
Pls tell me that it was only an accident as this was the pro to the con of the 2 minute required buff time change...
