Thread: Weekly Roundtable Discussion (Week Ending 3-22-04)
When I first decided to get a house, I did some research, to see which was the best economic deal. What I found was completely contrary to RL economics.
For 384 credits/day I could get 1 lot that holds 75 items (small round Naboo)
Also for 384 credits/day I could get 2 lots that hold 150 items (all other smalls)
For 816 credits/day I could get 2 lots that hold 150 items (all mediums)
And for 1200 credits/day I could get 6 lots that hold 250 items (all larges)
(didn't check guild halls)
So:
For 6 lots, I could get:
Small Round Naboo - 450 items for 2304 credits/per day
All other small houses - 450 items for 1152 credits/day
Allmedium houses - 450 items for 2448 credits/day
All Large houses - 250 items for 1200 credits per day.
------
Shouldn't the ratio get better as the item count increases?
I currently only use Small, non-Naboo Rounds, anything else would be throwing my money away.
After reading the dev chat last night and the person's question about Human's HAM bonuses you guys completely missed the point.
Are you aware that Humans can migrate ANY stat (primary AND SECONDARY) to 1100. The HAM species bonuses are totally wiped out because of a "feature" you introduce in a publish a few months back.
Humans USED to be able to migrate any stat to 600 but now any stat can be migrated to 1100.
This creates an imbalance Humans are more suited to be better entertainers than Twi'leks because they can migrate their quickness and stamina to 1100.
They are better suited for combat than Transdoshans because they can migrate their constitution to 1100 (and that was the strong point for the Trandoshans)
They are better suited for medical professions than zabrak's or Mon Cal's because they can migrate their focus and willpower to 1100. This is especially popular as you read of docs who say "My mind never drains even without food and spice because my willpower and focus is 1100. . .it's great"
I request resolution or at least some acknowledgement from someone with a red name that they are aware of this and if it's intended or not.
Thanks.
Two things I have to discuss. First, since the last patch, the first time I log on within seconds my computer crashes. Not to desktop mind you, but completely shuts down. I have done some tests and the only time it does it is when I first log on to SWG. The second time I log on after my system reboots it is fine. I don't know what the problem is, but this constant powering down can seriously damage my computer and harddrive. If it is a bug, could you please fix it ASAP so I don't lose my box.
Second, Have you guys reverted back to the old crafting system yet, cause if I recall you promised to do it Wednsday, and Wedns. night I was crafting and I am 98% sure that it was still using the new system (which blows btw sorry).

Kane_Firestalker,
It's actually funny that you mention this. I reported five users through /report, then created a CSR ticket demanding action. In the ticket, I listed all five of their names, the date and time it happened, and sent the ticket in using my holocron. I got a candid response back stating "We are aware of the problem and are working twoard a resolution... please close ticket" response. NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
I added some additional, not so nice comments demanding that something be done about this problem. This time I actually got a CSR response back. It said something to the lines of, "SOE does not discuss their disciplinary actions with players. Please close ticket". Well... guess what? NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
So I placed some additional rude comments into the ticket and sent it back again. I'm now waiting on yet another CSR response. Through all this, however, I went back to the caves and the same five people were there afk looting. What does this tell me? Exploiting is permitted as long as these people are paying customers. I know it states in the terms of service that these accounts are supposed to be banned, but I've yet to see it happen. I guess I'll just have to start afk looting myself so I can get decent skill tapes and other items since I can't get them any other way without spending 4 million credits on them.
Anyone have a good macro for afk looting?
And Thunderheart... I hope you see this as not an actual request to exploit the game but one persons plea that Sony starts enforcing rules. How hard is it to have a CSR log into the game at the borgle bat caves, send a couple spatial chat requests, and then kick out those who do not answer?
i just wonder WHAT where you doing there?
where you there to get loot as well...if so then you basically are no better.. no real difference
where you there just to report people....if so i cant really say in this forum what i think you are
isnt the real point here that the game is so shallow that 90% of it can be macro'd
According to our late correspondent there was not much communication occuring. Hopefully TH will read this and have a brief glimpse at some of the things they have recently changed for the worse:
1. Feign Death is no longer a viable skill:Ineffective in PVE and an invitation for griefing in PVP
2. Spices are worthless: As of Pub 7 spices now leave your HAM wherever it was after the downer. So if you gained +1000 health on spice and then went down to 1hp at the downer, you now have to regenerate all of the health back. Combine this with the fact that Chef foodsgive better bonuses, a longer duration, and have zero negative effects and you see why spice is no longer being used.
3. Panic Shot Change: Now this skill function identically to the Novice Brawler skill of Warcry. Smugglers are required to be novice brawlers due to skill requirements and thus have a duplication of skills here. Except that Panic shot can be dodged, blocked, and countered.
The only viable skills we have left are slicing ( a completely random skill) and Underworld where we can pay 10,000 credits for the privilege of obtaining 100 faction points. Nevermind that it takes about three minutes to make 100 faction doing a mission.
We are sorely in need of a revamp. Please help us Thunderheart.

Is it a bug or am I being ripped off? I sometimes get an email without a screen msg saying someone has deposited credits into my account. I just need to know if Im getting ripped off. Is it ALWAYS supposed to show up on screen that Ive been tipped?

Thunderheart...
I just want something very simple. I would like some kind of privacy option. At times I avoid logging in because of too many tells. There needs to be a way for players to control their online time a little more. I can use the afk message but it doesn't stop the tells and then people think I am being rude and as Mayor and Tailor I do not want to appear rude but at the same time, I would like to do other things with my time so a privacy feature is really becoming a must. I experience burn-out because there is no way to escape in the game if I want to experience other parts of the game.

A few quick notes. Great job on listening to the community and not changing the current crafting issue..
But just wondering how can this issue be resolved so fast. Yes many many other issues. Are untouched...
Well there are a lot of different types and levels of code to the game. Some is scripting, some is raw code, etc. Some things, like the "make me anonymnous on my friends list" feature are very low level programming and take more time to address and has to be done by a specific programmer who knows the code base, the coding, etc. Other things are just a simple script change. With that being said, even some script changes take a lot of time because there is so much code.

Please change shuttle schedules.

We are. Probably in Publish 8. Shuttle times will be reduced to 5 minutes. Starports will go from any planet to any planet and we're still working on exactly what is going to be done with the starport times.
Have a great weekend everyone!
