So what? Some of us have an opinion. Last time I checked, it's OK to have your own opinions. So what if the majority of entertainers think it's a good thing? We're not THAT powerful. If the majority of combat players, who far outnumber us, think it's a bad thing, who do you think will sway the devs?

I have done plenty of reading, and as a person who plays both entertainers AND combat chracters, and who has played crafters in the past, I have great empathy for other professions. It just happens to be my opinion that gameplay won't be adversely affected. Agree or disagree, that's your right. No amount of "pressure" is going to make me think any differently, when I've already carefully thought through the implications and made my own decision.

"...even though if they had a bit of empathy and did a bit of reading, they'd come to understand how it adversely affects the gameplay of many others." Boy, how many times did we say things like that to AFK spammers/grinders, buffbot owners, and their ilk? It's really ironic isn't it? Nobody cared at all how unattendededness adversely affected our gameplay, but now we're supposed to "have a bit of empathy" and understand how removing it will supposedly hurt someone else's gameplay. That's rich.

To quote you:

you dont want any changes made that would effect your secondary account? God forbid that your secondary acount should be affected so that someone else could get some level of enjoyment from thier primary, or only account.

Pretty sure that's negatively impacting someone else's gameplay to enhance your own, which is what I accused you of and you flatly denied.

There are other alternatives. Alternatives to enhance entertainers that do not negatively impact other professions and that don't amplify the tedium of the game.

In looking through your recent posts, you seem to be a reasonably intelligent, thoughtful, and fair person. So why this stance? Why not fight for enhancements for ATK entertainers instead of this, as was being espoused pretty strongly on the thread from which I drew this quote?

The post that you quoted that from was made by a buffbot user that didn't want his buffbot affected. To me a buffbot is not gameplay. It serves no purpose but to take something away from the intended design of the entertainer profession. Rest assured if there were afk loot bots noone would be defending them.

Any solution that allows for buffbots to remain in the game in any fashion is not acceptable to me in any way. Thats why i whole heartedly endorse the removal of recursive macros, but if you look in this thread rather than searching for old posts in others you'll see that im also for fixing problems that will affect the crafting community that will arise. Id love it if they took out every timesink in the game, but there not going to. And the fact of the matter is ive done combat, probably more than you have and i don't find it to be a problem if I run into a situation where i cant get my battle fatigue healed at 3 am.

The pure simple fact of the matter is that if you cant find an entertainer to heal your BF at off peak hours it is not a unique thing to entertainer, its hard to find doctors to heal or buff you at these hours too, are you in the doctor forum complaining about that as well? Don't even bother trying to quote med center autoheal, because if you get a disease at 3 am and wind up with 1 health left what do you do? by all means tell me, autoheal isn't going to fix that in any timely fashion, and chances are you have a disease thatl take 2 hours to wear off on its own too. This is the way they designed the game theONLY difference is that people are SPOILED because they have had access to afk entertainers and buffbotsforso long.

If I read his post correctly, he was also talking about buff-bot in a semi-private location; not a cantina. And buffbot owner or not, you chose to completely disrespect the way he wants to play the game he's paying his $15/month for. That's selfish. Period.

And you still don't get the BF vs Wounds thing, do you? I can heal my wounds, over time, sitting in a camp or medical facility. I NEED AN ENTERTAINER ONLINE THAT I CAN FIND TO HEAL MY BF. Disease at 3am? Macro a keep-alive in the med center. Come back when I log in tomorrow healed.

You can also let BF heal, over time, by sitting in a player city med center.

Yes you can (had to go test it first ).

Now if they add it to camps and increase the healing rate to bring into line with all other wounds, problem solved.

That may be valid if he were playing the game, all he's doing is adding a character to the world that does nothing but take up bandwidth so that he can get buffed whenever he wants.

Your right i have NO respect for someone who wants to manipulate an in game system in an unintended way to benifit himself and his pa, because that STILL removes the need for him and whatever friends he has to ever use a live enterrtainer.

So you can sit macroing overnight in the med center to heal instead of just finding yourself a doctor the next day, Im sorry but that's even worse because your now taking away that opertunity for the doctor to get wound heal xp. In addition your adding yourself as yet another afk placeholder that detracts from the imersion of the game with your prescence in the med center.

I fail to see why an entire profession has to suffer so you dont have to go through the inconvenience of having toget your battle fatigue healed when you log back in.

why can't you get it through your thick and impenatrable skull that all entertainers will not disapear completely over night leaving you no way to heal your battle fatigue ever? You can quit playing and leave your computer turned on all night to autoheal but to go find an entertainer the next day when you start playing is game breaking for you? Im sorry come back when you start to make sense.

If he's doing it in a public cantina, he's an ass. But that doesn't make it any less selfish for you to want to improve YOUR experience AT THE COST OF EVERYONE ELSE'S.

Say you're in the Coronet cantina, dancing your pert, perky little... off. You're having a grand old time. There are no bots present. You're happily entertaining your clients. They're happily tipping you and handing you free clothing andflowers, andbuying you stiff or fruity drinks.

Everyone's chatting. New and different songs are playing. Flourishes are going off in unison.

It's an entertainer's dream.

And then *bam* you stop dancing. You try to start up again, but you just jigglea couple times and stop again.

The Holocron pops up and says your Entertainer Quotient has been exceeded and you can no longer entertain until you've managed to kill a Nightsister. Grouping to kill the Nightsister is just fine, too.

So you leave the Coronet cantina and start looking for an adventuring group. Nothing forming at the Starport (which is pleasantly free of advertisement spam, I might add), so you book a ticket to Dathomir. Maybe you can find a brave group of adventurers there.

After an 8-minute, 38-second wait for the shuttle (whew! long enough for a bio break!), you arrive on one of the strangest, most menacing looking planets you've ever been to. The sky is dismally dark. The fauna seems to reach toward you hungrily. You bolt for the Cantina in hopes to find refuge from the stench of death and decay.

In the cantina, you find... a Musician. Happily playing his tune, and all too glad to chat with you and invite you into a group. Sadly, you decline his invitation, knowing that you can't dance again until you've managed to clear this EQ you've built up. But you do chat, asking him if he's seen any adventuring groups recently.

"Sorry," says he, "I've been all alone here for hours. Wish I could help you, but them Nightsisters pack a hell of a punch... I'd just die alongside ya."

So you sit down and watch your new acquaintence play for a while, lamenting that you can't join him in the revelry.

After a bit of waiting, you notice that your EQ has lessend somewhat. It's down about 5% in 15 minutes. You think to yourself that, well, that's one option, isn't it? You begin to wonder if this musician will stick around for about 5 hours to talk with you while your EQ goes down (because you must remain at the keyboard or be logged out).

Thankfully, it doesn't come to that. After about an hour of thumb-twiddling, a group of stout, sturdy adventurers bursts into the Cantina and proclaims it is going on a Nightsiter hunt! Thrilled, you bubbily ask them if you can join them on their excursion.

"Well," they say, "we'd love to have you along. Do you have any combat ability?"

"Erm, not really."

"Can you buff us?"

"Erm, not until I kill a Nightsister. I have high EQ. Sorry."

"Got any money? We'll take you for 20k..."

Oh come on. It's a good story, and indicative of how dependant combatants are on entertainers.

If you're going to one-star me, at least do me the courtesy of telling me where you think the analogy is inaccurate.

That has got to be the most rediculous comparison I have ever seen yet. Did you actually sit and think about this absurd little analogy before you wrote it, or did it come from your pert, perky little...?

I dont get it, in the post above this one you say its not about the battle fatigue, and now you go off on this long tirade atempting to show how hard it is to get rid of the insidious battle fatigue from a rather nonsensical comparison.

Do you have a split personality or something?

Furthermore its been confirmed by others here in the thread that you CAN heal battle fatigue with the med centers autoheal, so if its ok to sit and heal your wounds overnight, why can't you do the same for battle fatigue.

I said it's not *just* about the Battle Fatigue.

And it's a pretty darn accurate comparison. Ask any combatant you know to read it. They'll tell you.

The main difference?

You're not going to charge someone 20k to clear their BF, but I've seen posts from some entertainers overjoyed at how they can now charge 30k for buffs...
