People were very resentful in beta of being forced to go to a dancer or musician to get their BF healed. People have never stopped being resentful. The announcement of removing recursive macros has just made a lot of people even more resentful. Once again, I hear people screaming "just get rid of the entertainer professions." It's a knee-jerk reaction, just like all the screams of glee. The removal of looping macros is a double-edged sword, and it has the potential of causing new problems. I do not see how the full benefits of this change can be realized without some other changes to dancers/musicians.
I can understand where a lot of this anger is coming from. It is often harder to find a dancer/musician to buff than it is finding a doctor. And finding both is a serious pain. Hence the reason people love buffbots. They do not get charged for a service that theysee as an inconvenience.
In order to buff the primaries and secondaries of the mind pool, you have to rely (and find)on two different professions. Whereas a doc can do all three for health and action. And entertainer buffs are very inconsistent as opposed to doctor buffs. And then there is the issue of the amount of time it takes to buff. And yet, after all that hassle, we still want to charge for the service? That isn't to say we shouldn't charge, it is to illustrate the frustration coming from combat professions and why they prefer buffbots.
I honestly think the cause of the frustrations need to be addressed and fixed. Bring ent buffs inline with doc buffs. Make them more consistent for Master Dancers/Master Musicians. Decrease the time it takes to buff and add a cost to buffing. And I know people will resist the idea, but either Dancer or Musician needs to be able to buff all three stats. To sum up, ent buffs need to be as convenient and valuable as doc buffs!
I want to get rid of buffbots. And I want to get rid of macro looping. But I do not want this done in a matter that turns a large portion of the community against entertainers.

Ever since then I made it a personal thing never to get buffs/BF Healing from any entertainer who is obviously always AFK/AFK Bot.
Thank you

I feel like an ewok rebel right after the second death star exploded! I think we need to set off some fireworks galaxy wide on each server! WOOT WTOO! Now thye just have to find out how to remove solo partiers cause hunting parties were the best and fun. Soloing is just^$*(ing yourself out for a bad time. It's like a bad$tI) that master doctors only make worse.

I just started as a temp account and just bought the game if this gets implemented I will send back the game to lucas arts for a refund and cancel my account. I feel I am being punished and not able to use macros when everyone else from the beginning of the game has been able to do so and this discriminates from new players being able to do the same thing everyone else has since game launch. It seems whiners in this game have a louder voice than anyone else but they can kiss my 15 dollars a month good bye I will purchase a different different game where the developers arent always changing everything in the game on a constant level.

I believe that if they made it to where people buffing had to do it somewhere else besides the cantina and if they did that they wouldnt be able to heal bf for mind wounds unless in a cantina and the buffs would be lower grade if the player didnt have bf and mind wounds healed first then the afk aspect of entertainer would be solved. If a entertainer had their own cantina set then they would be able to heal and buff there but not in public cantina's

Thank you for speaking up because that was exactly my point. New players should not have to play an entirely different game from what was there at the beginning. This is the established low level content, they need to work on adding new conent instead of constantly altering things that have been around since the release of this game. EQ pumps out expansions and content every few months, SWG trickles content that should have been here long ago like a dried up stream.

I doubt any of you dancers / musicians who already mastered this did it without any use of macros. Cmon tell me im wrong.
Offcourse you didnt use macros. It just so easy not to.
Drygo mastered 90% ofdancer by manually typing out /flourish 1, /flourish 2, etc. I am not even kidding you. The last 10% I found out about macros and I used them, but I never went afk. And, everyone will still have the option to write very long macros and click one tiny button every 5 minutes. Not so difficult.
Oh, and yes, I enjoyed *every* minute of my manual typed out /flourish'ing as I levelled.

Unless there's some drastic modification to the way the entertainers obtain experience, this change will cause the entertainer population to drop precipitiously. Good luck getting your bf healed or mind buff then.
People keep saying that, but they're wrong. This, coupled with the new Jedi system, will cause the grinding and buffbot population to drop precipitously. But, these people are not entertainers. The entertainer population, on the other hand will finally get the chance to grow and thrive.

I'll tell you why you can't compete...most of the playerbase doesn't like you (entertainers). We don't like your entire personality type, in RL orin games.
Congratulations. Your whines just helped make the game worse. Glad I cancelled.
People such as yourself who make statements such as this are not an enhancement to the game. Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya!
Oh, and thanks for the congratulations. It was a long time coming.

Well the person who canceled was right about one thing, whining is what caused this quick fix. All it takes is a few people to whine on the forums for a few hours creating a huge thread and the next thing you know the devs make a rash decision without thinking it through clearly. We haven't even had time to discuss what this change can have and the decision has already been made. Quick decisions are the reason why the real world is the way it is, so why would it be any different for this game? That's why so many people have already quit...

Actually it's been much more than a few people, and much more than a few hours. We have been fighting tooth and nail for this for MONTHS. Months, 90% of us, truly. This was not a snap decision at all. This took months for the devs to finally realize how badly afk was hurting this game and our professions. We fought long and hard, we deserve this victory, and the game will be better for it.
