Thread: Poll: Skill Point Investment (yeah..again :P)
I wonder if player cantinas where a curse in some ways. Many of the player cantians arefabulous places that have been decorated withgreat skill, but...
Before player cantinas, I can remember the cantinas in Mos Eisley, Coronet and Theed being packed (groups of 10+ were not uncommon)with entertainers that knew their profession. Once player cantinas were introduced, they each drifted away to their own towns. I think this hurt us as we are definately a profession that builds off synergy with each other.

My friends tried their best to be supportive of my profession choice, and invited me along on hunts, but even I could tell that I wasn't really contributing a thing to a group.
I got tired of not being able to get cool loot by myself. I barely ever asked for help, but some offered. I always felt too guilty to ask.
This brings up what is probably often felt but rarely expressed. I have gotten tired of my guild mates having to pity me, and do things like come to a cantina and ask for a buff they don't really need just to make me feel useful. I appreciate they do it but I don't want to be a charity case. I want my character to have an actual use, and she doesn't anymore.

I agree completely. I get that a lot from guildies, even for my tailoring. They always seem to think I need their orders to survive. /rolleyes
Edit: Oops! I didn't even notice what thread I was responding in. Sorry for having a discussion in a poll thread hehe.

My only concern is if that I log in one day, and find out that both Image Designer (I can't see how this could be a zero sp profession) and Dancer takes zero skill points for me. Then I would like a respect in order to migrate to another profession professions. I do indeed like dancing, but I don't need to be stuck with two professions that everyone can have. Also I've spent a lot of time grinding Dancer months ago, So I should be entitled to a respect if they decide to make it a zero sp profession.

I'd think that if they were to remove our sp req (which..again..they are not considering at this time), a respec would be in order.
Good to see you back around here again, btw.
Without any info and people losing hope id push for complete sp reduction. If theres some long term plans for the class then there is cause to stay as it is but as communication is lacking they are just likely to lose more and more of the players.
I would want a respec that would allow us to move the SP somewhere else, but let us keep our Ent professions if we want to..

0 SP or Not, I'm going tostay a Dancer or Musicians on My characters
I am in favor of a partial reduction in the skill point expenditure of Dancer.

"We want entertainers to be more like 'entertainers', and less like 'healers'."JFreeman's statement (quoted above) when he announced they were removing battle fatigue is as close to a vision statement as we have ever gotten, dispite repeated requests for one. I have received no indication of planned changes for us. However, that does not mean there are no plans.
I don't want to see BF make a come back. What I want to see is some kind of system implemented to get rid of the AFK-Entertainers, and to give us a system so we can earn money through ATK reasons. Just because I am not a level 80 because I choose the route of Entertainer, doesn't mean I should be on wel-fare. Master Dancers/Musicians should make as much money as Combateers, if not more due to being a celebrity.
Ok here comes my input on this. To all of you who are tired of fighting, surrender your skills and move on.
For the rest of us, there are things in life you can't win, and this may be one of them, but I will not sit quietly. I began this game 1 year ago knowing I was going to be an entertainer. I am now Master Dancer & Master Tailor with the rest of my boxes filled in merchant. Sothere aredays I have sat and thought about dropping those skills in order to gain combat since the new expansions are geared towards hi level combat players. I too would like to complete all missions and gain all badges. But I'm doing what I love. My professions are needed just as much as any other. If it weren't for tailors we'd all be naked!![]()
TheSillyOne stated in a post 10/17/05 "For entertainers the game is a chat program. Chat programs are free. " I say, bit your tongue! Every profession communicates. It's what gives us that sense of reality. Every profession is important in this game, and before the CU dance was too. We had a purpose, we had a mission. I'm sure the Doctors of the galaxy feel the same.
I think the game should be looked at as a whole and how it can all be better. Like they say you don't know what you have till it's gone. All of us lost friends to the CU and they are greatly missed. If they make dancer a zero point profession we will lose many more.
I am in favor of partial skill point reduction.
in addition, as something to think about, having novice entertainer cost 0 skill points for twi'leks. or an innate twiliek dance that only twileks know or something.
