No.. Panthu is right. This is not what they asked for and a lot of good ideas were floated to fix the situation for the entertainer professions. Instead, the Devs decided this was the easiest and fastest way to get it done.
That still doesn't mean the largest cry that "something" be done by the devs didn't come from the Ents. Because it did. And ultimately, this probably wouldn't have come about had those cries not been heard. So I wouldn't claim complete innocence Panthu.
Yeah, how irrational of us to loudly profess that we want our professions to mean something, and not be beaten into extinction by PC NPC's.
Wow... Did everyone miss the first paragraph of my post?
It certainly seems that way. ![]()

Player interaction lies at the heart of any MMORPG. I fail to see why people are playing this game if they don't want to interact with anyone.
And ultimately, we would not have had to cry out to defend our professions had people not chosen to completely abuse the powerful macro system they gifted us with by ruining our gameplay with irresponsible AFKers and buffbots. Reap what you sow.
You wanna pass blame around, bring it on!
You ought to know better than that. These games are built on the premise that you simply cannot get by without interacting with other people, friends and strangers alike, whether you like it or not. The same statement could be used to strip doctors of their ability to heal and give it to everyone. Is that a good thing?

Wrong.. and I can explain it in two words:
Battle Fatigue.
Can you use a few more words? I must be very dense right now. Battle fatigue is one reason why players must interact with entertainers. And?

And if your preciousness doesn't decide to acutally log in and do something about it, there is NO WAY forcombatants to fix that particular predicament.
There isNO OTHER PROFESSION that can have a stranglehold on any other class...
We can alleviate the need for docs by sitting in camps or med centers. It's slow, but it works eventually.
Battle Fatigue... need an entertainer. Period. Stranglehold.

Allow me to go back to your original point that spun off this tangent.
"Interact with anyone? A lot of people love to interact with others. I play this game with several friends and we interact all of the time Interaction is a wonderful thing.. Forced interaction isn't."
Whether you are buying from them on the bazaar, their vendor or in person, you are interacting with that weaponsmith. You are interacting with the doctor that heals you. You are interacting with the entertainers. Forced interaction is a basic premise in these games. We all need one another, that's what builds community. Community is what makes these games fun. Is it really your contention that all reliance upon entertainers should be removed from the game?

No, I'm trying to get away from semantics. Who cares how you interact, whether it's in person or not. His assertion originally was that 'forced interaction' in an online game is a bad thing, mine is that it's a necessary thing. Forced interaction can be relying on weaponsmiths to craft weapons, doctors to heal wounds, entertainers to heal mind, architects to craft deeds...anything that you need but rely on another player, that you may not otherwise wish to interact with, to provide.
How the heck did we get onto this topic anyway?

Your wasting your time even replying to this person javier, your talking to a brick wall made of ignorance.
Hey, I'm the guy who'll go out of his way to fight against changes that benefit me personally but screw over the community at large.
YOU'RE the person arguing for changes that enhance your gameplay but at the same time screw everyone else over.
Call me ignorant all you want. To me, you're looking pretty selfish and stubborn. /shrug
Pssst...spice is made by smugglers. It lasts a few minutes then goes away and you get a downer which makes you puke and what not. Chef foods generally last longer and have no downer when the buff is finished. It simply goes away just like our buffs do. At the end, the player can simply eat or drink more, provided their stomach isn't too full.

I've seen how the cheff buffs work and frankly was not impressed.. sure, you get a mindbuff without having to look for someone but have you seen what happens when it runs out ? màjor bummer.. puking all over, health goes bye bye.. I think the cheffs are overdoing it with the spices /grin
