Thread: Poll: BF Ranger/Scout Camps
BF can be healed at cantina for prcise reason... it was developed this way to make hunters return to town and socialize a bit with the 'social part' of the community... "entertainers" (ok is not that only entertainers are social, but their 'work' make them generally a bit more social than hunters.
Perhaps a way to get around this is so that only ranger camps can heal battle fatigue with the aid of an entertainer, dancer or musician?
I personally love heading back to town to kick back for 15 mins whilst my mind wound heal and i get to talk to some great people, however i hate being 'forced' back into town just because i have battle fatigue so i cant buff until its gone. Id much prefer it where i head back to town to rest and recouperate.
Perhaps the battle fatigue system needs removing and replacing with something more along the lines of 'Rest'. When you are fully rested you have a complete bar of 'rest'. You can heal better, be buffed better and you dont have anynegative effects.
The bar slowly degrades over the course of x hours and reduces futher with poisons, diseases and shock wounds (sort of like battle fatigue plus). When the bar reaches 50% the player starts feeling the negative effects of a tired body and cannot be buffed 100%, cannot heal aswel and cannot use his/her abilities to their full potential (10% drop in damage output).
Following on from this the player experiences another drop at 25% rest bar remaining, this time resulting in a 25% damage output dropinstead of the 10% previously.
Any lower than this and the player moves up to serious fatigue problems. The player finds it hard to concentrate sohas reduced accuracy, cannot focus so their damage output is movedup to a 40% reduction instead of 25% and they experiences a very reduced buff value.
Using this system the entertainers, dancers and muscians can replenish this rest bar to tired players so attracting custom and attendance in cantinas. It would require players to head back into town more to get some rest using a cantina or hotel OR they would be required to find a high level ranger camp to either auto heal their rest values or have an entertainer/dancer/musician replenish their bar much more quickly.
The options would be open to the player but esentially would force players that want to be fighting at optimum capacity toto visit a cantina or tavern thus bringing in custom and attendance your way, allow groups to stay out that little longer even without an entertainer in group but not recieve the full benefits and would also bring something to ranger camps in regards to group attractions.
What do you think?
Oh yeah and we are very sociable beings us rangers, however we tend to stick to chatting in guild chat or the ranger forums than talking out in the woods, i mean you need to be quiet else you'll scare the beasts away.

Some people are misreading the options. #1 asks for camps to autoheal BF. #2: an ability for entertainers to heal BF in camps. This gives entertainers a nice chance for more income by doing 'gigs.'
Provided they can find a Ranger to go along and keep the camp up for them while they entertain.

Also, why give the ability to a Master Ranger when it only takes a Dancer with a house to do the same job?
Simply because you can't plant a house on endor/yavin/dathomir. You can, however, plant a camp. Besides, the options don't give rangers any abilities to heal BF, it gives an entertainer the ability to heal BF in a ranger camp (option 2).
Clarification: I meant only a Master Ranger. I would rather see the ability spread throughout the profession.
I'd vote OPTION TWO
Panthu wrote:Option 1Scout/Ranger camps healing BF over time.Scout is the 2nd most popular profession, so the odds are you'll always be able to find a scout if you can't find an entertainer.Set it so that it heals at the same rate as wounds - namely, based on the size of the camp, and never let it heal faster than what you would get from a novice musician/dancer (but higher than a novice entertainer, based on level), and you've solved the problem. If the camp has an entertainer, it works the same as a cantina. In addition to the gameplay bonuses this change adds, it also makes sense in RP terms. Camps are relaxing. There's a nice fire to look at.
orOption 2Scout/Ranger camps work like a Cantina for us.Period. Just like they do now, but also with BF Healing and any future additions/mods to NPC Cantina Structures. You would still need an Ent as much as you do in a Cantina no matter what.Given only these two options, which would you pick?
The second option. I wanna keep the entertainers monopole of healing mind damage (and I see no reason why a camp should be able to heal mind wounds... is there a electronical headshrinker built in it?)
Btw. I guess the only reason why scout is so popular is the ability to harvest meat. Wouldn't be suprised to hear that many, or possibly even most scouts never set up a camp yet. I for example am scout 0040 as long as I don't need the skill points.

It was only about bf! Well that's ok. At novice entertainer rate. I see no reason why a camp should be more relaxing than a cantina.
