That said, I'm not going away tomorrow, or next week. I have some things I am still doing with my guild. But I'm going to cancel before the end of the year.

The problem is, it costs me $15/month to "not give up." Why am I paying for a game that makes me not want to log in?
That's a question only you can answer (although I'm pretty sure you're being rhetorical here.)

Well then, in that case I hope that you're able to find some measure of enjoyment in the time that you have left. Meanwhile feel free to look Ikuri up if you like! She's always ready for a good chat.
I guess I am RPing a fear of cantinas for the time being
Add station access to your account and play any SOE game for not alot more than the single subscription. Currently i have Mxo and EQ2 to amuse me in the quiet times of SWG and id heartily recommend EQ2 for PVE lovers and Mxo for the social scene.
On servers where I play, I can usually be found performing in front of the Theed Starport (if someone needs an inspiration, it's just a quick run to the hotel). I'm enjoying rp'ing a street performer and turningothers onto the philosphies of Bertos Goodner (the npc dancer in front of the Moenia starport who prefers the streets over the cantinas).

Well a temporary solution to my frustration -- I am currently refusing to play inside a canina. I spent the evening in Cnet and it was so eerie it made me quite uncomfortable (perhaps they are literally zombies). So I hopped over to Mos Eisley star port and set up there. It was surprisingly pleasant -- I chatted with live players, had fresh enquiries about my guild.

Best thing for those looking for something new AND wanting to keep their SWG account alive is not guild wars (because essentially its awful) but station access.

Just wish we could play one while other is running, since you are encouraged to be AFK in eq2 while vendoring, playing MxO or SWG or even EQ we be nice.
{two station access accounts in this house, thats 4 games you buy box and pay one monthly fee for, worth it to me}
grind AFK, in private, locked in a private house
I do not mind AFK, if they are not leading a group, so they can be kicked
I do not mind AFK, if they are in a corner leaving the stage for real Performers
if you are not attending the toon, you are not playing the game.
So leave room for those who do like being here

You can, i had my eq2 character logged in and logged in ani on my laptop in swg (same account).
Plus didnt they change EQ2 so you could sell items when your offline? I havent experimented with flogging on the bazaar yet but ive been told you can.

Now passers by are assuming I am afk and are surprised when I speak to them (like in the regular cantians).

Well, my resentment of afktainers just got worse. I went to the streets to AVOID them. I log in today to find 3 afk newbie entertainers on the street outside Mos Eisley SP.

I hate them too sometimes.

I still think SOE only brought this about by inaction.
But the people who choose to do it? It's their actions that are the problem.
So to me, choosing an action that harms other people is worse than not acting to stop it... Though I don't particularly like either.
