It was busy in Theed last night, andI'd say only about 3 in 10 was able to listen or watch. I suggested doing all the old workarounds, to no avail. SOEEEEE!!! /shakefist

I had this problem last night. I normally don't notice it as only one of my characters has no entertainer skills and (naturally) you don't get it when you are the one perorming... but last night I logged in with my one (and only) non-entertainer and went to Kashyyyk to get my CL 65 Varactyl... only to get killed by the quest target... and since there is no cloning terminal on Kashyyyk.....

Anyway, a friend of mine has a dancer and I tried to watch him to clear my BF, but kept getting the "too far away" message. Finally, I had to stand practically on top of him, but not in just any spot, I had to be in a specific spot behind him in order to be able to /watch him dance.

Note: After reading the other recent posts, I'm wondering if the location affects this. When it happened to me,I wasin the Cantina at the Rebel Outpost on Rori.

Still getting the too far away error as of last night, July 1, on two servers - Naritus and Sunrunner. Sitting down does not seem to work anymore and moving around didn't seem to resolve the issue either but we've had better luck with exiting and reentering the cantina.

Eshie...

This bug is much, MUCH worse since pub. 19 than it was before, at least for me. I estimate over 50% of people trying to listen to or watch me have been flat-out unable to. That was not true before... it was more like 1 or 2 in 10.

The only way to fix this now seems to be going out the back of the cantina (at least in public ones) and standing out at the back door, with the entertainer in the front of the cantina targetted, and typing /listen or /watch. It works sometimes, but not all the time, and once this bug starts, nothing else seems to fix it, including logging, taking shuttles, me stopping/moving/starting, or anything else.

This bug is so weird. For me, it has been better since the last patch.I reported it again last night as our number 1 issue and stated that reports are that it is more prevalent now than before the patch.

Pub 19 made this MUCH worse for me. My shop is located outside of Mos Eisley and I used to go the cantina for an insperation buff before crafting. I can no longer watch any entertainer in the Mos Eisley cantina. Not one of them from any vantage point, at any distance, no matter how many times I type /watch or use the radial menu. The catina in Eisley is now completely useless to me.

Oddly enough, I can hop in my ship and fly to Theed and watch any entertainer in the place on the first try. It sucks not being able to use the local cantina.

My advice to the developers is to ditch the LOS rules for entertainers. Make it a straight X/Y distance thing. They can calculate the range accurately enough for combat, why not use the same code for viewing entertainers?

Not sure if any of this will help figure this out or not.

I am getting reports from guild mates that private cantinas are less impacted by this bug than public ones. It happens for sure, a lot, in Eisley. I have not been in other public cantinas since the pub 19 update. I have performed privately but not with enough people to have a good idea of prevalence anywhere but in Eisley.

I've been traveling to different galaxies, different cantinas, NPC and player owned..it seems totally random. I would give almost anything to be able to find a pattern with this but for the life of me, I can't!

I'm with you Esh. I can't find any pattern at all other than once I get the bug in one location it seems to happen frequently there. For a while we couldn't perform at all in the cantina proper in Moenia but could perform back where the rebel recruiter is standing. Also it seems as though if you try a work around and it fails the first time, then nothing you try will make it work. It's definitely very frustrating and I wish we could offer the devs something more definitive with which to work.

That does bring up the one "consistency" that I am seeing. When it stops working about all you can do is leave and try again. It doesn't seem to be related to the entertainer leaving as much as to the other player leaving. Same with the city hall terms..I go in, use the radial once and then can't use it again until I leave, come back and try again.

The best way I have found to get around the bug is to instuct the players to keep me targeted while they go outside of the cantina and then /listen to me or /watch on a dancer. This seems to have worked for most people. I have had ths bug happen in both aplayer and the Eisley Cantina.

In fact player cantina's seem to be more bugged thaan NPC ones. In one I called my droid and it was broken! Not all the radial options worked and it would not playback. I could get around this by calling the droid outside and walking it in. I am not sure if this bug is related to just one cantina on my server (since I haven't tried this at another) or if it is maybe just onmy character. (And yes I have bugged this in game!)

I had this happen last night. A patron was not able to /watch me, but had no difficulty /watching the dancer next to me. Another patron was able to /watch me, but was unable to /listen to the lone musician there.
