I just returned, after dropping out in Oct 2003. I am amazed how 'unfinished' so much of the game still feels... and disappointed.
longest beta every made, and to think we pay to play this

The workaround for how the LOS problem was affecting the entertainer professions went to Live today (keep in mind, this workaround does not solve the LOS problem's affect to other game aspects; City Hall terms, vehicles, cloners). I was able to get on for a little while and had no problem /watching dancers. Is anyone getting "too far away" reports?
Yes. It happened to 4 people trying to listen to me and others (and watch) in Mos Eisley cantina, tonight, post publish 19. The bug is still there. If anything it is worse. A full description follows:
A female Twi TKA came in and tried to listen as I was doing a song routine. She said, "I can't listen to Dejah." After a few seconds she said, "This is wierd, my HUD says you are 3m away but I can't listen." Ahh, the bug... So I suggested some things. In the past it has sometimes worked if I stop performing, walk a couple of steps and start again.
No dice.
So a Rebel human who hangs in the cantina said, "Try someone else." She tried the other musicians.
No dice.
Then he said, "Watch instead of listening." So she tried to watch 2 dancers, one in our group and one AFK.
No dice.
So then she said, "I'll go out and come back in again." Meanwhile the rebel said, "Crap, I can't listen or watch either." The rebel then went out the back of the cantina. The female Twi went out the front (we were playing just inside the front stairs there, in the space in front of the bar).
They both came back and said they still couldn't watch/listen. I said, "Try using /listen instead of the radial menu." (Remembering that /clone worked but the radial clone menu didn't in some cases.)
No dice.
So the female Twi logged. Meanwhile, the rebel human said, "/listen huh?" And he then proceeded, starting right next to me, to walk backwards 10 m or so at a time, typing /listen as he went. When he got to the back entrance of the cantina (back of the bar) he said, "AH!" This worked for him.
The female Twi logged back in. She stamped her feet. "Still nothing." The rebel said, "Go to the back and type /listen." She tried it.
No dice.
At this point a wookiee came in. He was a newbie (the other 2 were level 80 so they were not new). He said, "Hey, how close do you have to be to watch a dancer?" and stepped RIGHT on top of the one he was trying to watch. The rebel said, "Go to the back and try /listen from there." The female Twi said, "That doesn't work."
The rebel then said, "Come with me." Now I was in the front so I could not see what they were doing, but in spatial I saw him say, "Stand right on this spot and type /listen. Make sure you have one of the musicians targetted."
THIS finally worked (whatever spot they were on).
About 5 minutes later a 4th person (rodian this time I think) came in, another noob (level 4 or something) and had the same problem. By now it was old hat and the Rebel said, "Target Dejah, keep her targetted, and come with me." Then in spatial I saw, "Stand here. Now type /listen." And again it worked.
What's causing this? Your guess is as good as mine.
If I had to BET, I'd bet that they increased the max range and it somehow hosed min range instead.

Yup, TFA bug is still alive and well. I got it again today. I think I was able to fix it by sitting down and waiting for a bit, but as far as I can tell it's working the same as it did before - sporadically.
I don't usually post, but I felt the need to let you know that since last patch this problem is now unbearable.
Today I couldn't make a single person watch me dance. As an exclusivelyATK dancer with only my wound healing tree to complete before reaching master, this is really annoying. I also like to roleplay allthe time I dance, and having to spend most of my conversationsspinning around the same theme (this bug) is just plain dumb.
I've no problems capturing people attention when they enter the cantina, but sadly these couple days since the publish they end up leaving without healing or they have to watch another entertainer (if they can, cause everyone around noticed it got worse) in order toserve themselves. I even found a couple newbie players blaming on me for this, thinking thatI was denying the healing *sigh*
Last night, on my main character I wondered into the Mos Eisley cantina, wanting to get an xp buff. I stood in one spot, tried to watch or listen to four different entertainers, with no luck. I was finally able to watch the 5th one I tried.
I think we need a giant can of Raid! This is so fustrating.
Again in Mos Eisley, a guild mate came in and I thought he was being odd at first. He stood RIGHT on my toon for a bit. I was about to ask him what he was doing when he said, "I hate this listen bug." Ahh... he was trying to get closer.
So remembering the trick from the other night, I suggested he go try at the back of the cantina. I watched him this time. He went back, and back, and back... Then I lost sight of him (I was playing an Ommni so I couldn't target him or I would've stopped playing).
Finally he came back in and said, "That is messed up.... It works if I type it from *outside* the cantina."
I have the feeling this has something to do with their "extended range" fix. Yes now he CAN listen from MUCH farther away, but he can't listen from closer than that!
