I will defend your right to play how you want to play, as long as you're actually playing. When you're afk, you're not playing. '
who are you to tell me that I can not play AFK? you have stock in SOE ? are you a CSR?
I can and will play how I like this is the true problem... buff bots help the game. it is the dancers not wanting to step up and take back the customer base ot make a customer base of there own. like I said before some of my dance groups are full and people wait to get in why is it that a dance can not ask poeple to join her/his group? I do not see this happening ? I still have not had a answer to this question.
Its funny because i see it happening all the time and have done it as well. You know what happens, the person keeps standing there and waits to get into the buffbot group and completely ignores the live dancer. I can stand right next to a buffbot and spam come get a buff from a live dancer, (and i HAVE done this can you say the same?) and i have and will continue to get no response.

Are you mad? Seriously? Come and fight against my warrior toon with out buffs, infact.. bring any 3 unbuffed characters of your choice. I will beat you all. With out buffs, plain and simple, you nor any one else in this game have any chance at all of faceing me in a field of battle and winning. You would be lucky just to make it out alive. You must be buffed in pvp to survive today.
Combat rebalance? Devs atemting to remove mind dependancy?any of this ring a bell.

It works just fine, I see a few people making damageing waves for the majority. I state again that at no point EVER in this game were there enough entertainers to go around, untill buff bots became common. As a side note.. I have noticed ALOT of rude, mean and snide live entertainers.. To you I say becarefull what you say in cantinas... Some people my not like your language... Many players do not want to be subjected to abuse by entertainers, to recieve a service that they are foreced to have to get by the devs just to justafy said classes existence. Its wrong.
And concerning money... If you want to make money you have to take risks... Danceing in a cantina is pretty safe, and consequently low paying.
1. Nobody is forced to get mind buffs. It is a luxury, not a necessity.
2. I hope you weren't referring to me because I certainly have never once been rude or used abusive language to people that come into the cantinas.
3. Do artisans take risks to make money?
4. I can deal with low paying, what I can't deal with is no paying.

Again.. That is so offencive i cant actually type what i think of what you said. People have th eright to be loners... We have finite time and being forced to spend time with people we dont like is forced on us all day long in our real lived. It should not be forced on us in a game we play to have fun. You can not use the fact that your experience as an entertainer is not what you thaught it would be as licence for the devs to do something harmfull to the play of other people. Buff bots make us happy. They allow us to play the game in an effecient way that many find pleasing. Forceing the time sink of making us find a live entertainer, and then convenceing the entertainer to buff us or heal us is wrong.
I feel sorry for you.

You're pretty offensive to me, so I guess we're even. ![]()
If I can't use my experience as an entertainer to advocate something that is *perceived* as harmful to other players, why are you allowed to advocate something that is not just harmful, but decimating to our professions?

I am of the opinion you should not be able to play AFK. I am of the opinion that nobody should in any capacity in the game. It is not, in my view...well...playing the game. It is unfortunate that AFK play is allowed, however, the developers are taking steps to remove recursive macros. This will hopefully curtail or at best eliminate AFK "play". I am referring toentertaines as well as surveyors, meatlump killers etc.
As a live entertainer I make every effort to make myself available for buffs and buff live often when I play. Since publish ten has been out I've been doing much better in public cantinas than I have in the past, and I've enjoyed it quite a bit. However, your mileage may vary and every galaxy has a different demographic. The problem is still very much present for many of my entertainer bretheren in varying degrees across the servers.
I know first hand in the presence of a buffbot it can be very difficult to compete no matter how good a performer you are. I had said this in a post, but this is an artifact of the hologrind. We have an entire generation of post-hologrind players that only know of cantinas full of AFK macro zombies spamming to get tips so they can Master their next holo. A large part of my convesatoins with buff customers involved explaining how to get buffed outside of a group. I don't mind teaching them at all, but it does get tiresome having to explain it so many times a night. These folks are, to an extent, trained to go to the buff bot to the extent they don't want to even think about us. Dreamland stated this in the post above.
I reccomend you take a couple hours of an off night and ATK play your entertainer and sell buffs. I think it may help you see our point of view if you 'walk a mile in our shoes' as it were.
