I was telling the truth. and it is funny how all the "pople hajacking and scamming has not come up from not 1 of you anti buff bots. The only thing you need to do to avoid being hijacked or scammed is remove /join from your macro. Ifthe buffbotsare willing to find a middle ground with me and meet me halfway bydoing that, I will no longer hijack any buffbots. Until then, I am doing something within the rules and the game mechanics, so I am unsure why I should stop. You hurt me, I hurt you. It's really that simple.

If youd just play at the keyboard people wouldn't be able to "hijack" you. There using valid in game commands and the commands in your own macro to get you to group with them. If someones being rude to you, or your customers, well theres no excuse for being rude ever.

To take a page from the buffbots, isn't that what ignore is for. If you have a problem with people like that just ignore them, if its a valid reason for a buffbot to be able to spam spatial, then why can't it be a valid reason for someone to invite you to thier group over and over again.

WOOT..

thank you very much Shlomo for the kind words.... next buff is on me for keeping the fath and telling the truth... I get g-mails and tells like Shlomo post all the time..and I do have my bot in a back room and I do want people to get there BF healed by the non afk dancers and all.. But I am goign to keep buffing as long as I can. I have a clint base I have to support now and I get new people all the time. If the none Afk dancer want to buff people how about you all speak up in the cantian and build your clint base "might be a good idea" I start from nothing and now I ger groups of players all the time on some days I have to have people wait for a spot to open up. I do not see why a none bot dancer can not fill the gap. and To be honest I have not seen that happen yet.WHY is that???

Its because your afk all day, Its impossible to make a judgement on what goes on in the cantina in the 2 minutes your there to set up the bot. I invite you to come over to bria with me if you like and actualy sit for a while in coronet with me next to the local buffbot for a few hours, then maybe you will understand why a non bot dancer cant fill that gap.

I don't have time to read all this banter since I am at work right now, but I just have to say I whole-heartedly support Phantom on this. SOoooooooooooooooooooo many times I get my regular buffs and then go to the Cantina to get my mind buff and EVERYONE there is AFK just dancing around -- maybe a few people are chatting, but when I ask about mind buffs, NO ONE responds.

With the recursive macro alterations hopefully the folks in the cantina dancing will be at their key boards so you wont see such a large crowd of zombie like folks. I know on my server this situation has become much better since publish ten.

I would be happy to get buffs from someone who is really there and has Dancing or Music as their actual profession, but I just don't find those people.

... (snipped for space)

Any one who actually plays as an Entertainer should be attentive to who walks in and address them with an offer for buffs right when they walk in, like salesmen at a car dealer or some retail establiashment like that --since this is your business afterall.

I agree it is beneficial for folks to stay attentive to customers coming inside the cantina. I always try to station myself facing the main entrance way so I can see folks come in. It is, as you say, our business, and it pays to watch the door.

And in Phantom's defense again, he does put his toon way ini the corner away from everyone else so all his customers have to walk through the crowd first -- this should give all real entertainers the chance to draw these people in as customers first.

What does that do though for the master that doensn't need heal xp and wants to buff in that cantina? How does that fix their problem?

What you fail to understand is that your prescence is contributing to the fact that there are less live entertainers there.

No, the problem would not be fixed. You are still actively taking away the livelyhood of the live entertainers on your server. I will say this again, buffing is our primary means of income, and youundercut us by givingthis away with no effort on youpart. Master level entertainers do not need the experinece. Therefore, trying to leave the heal experience to us is giving us nothing and not a concession to a 'middle ground' of any type. Yes, the game mechanics allow for it and by that definition it is legal. It is not, however, right.

At the risk of repeating myself, no...problem NOT fixed. The PROBLEM, is that buffbots are making it nearly impossible for real entertainers to make a living selling buffs. THAT is the problem that needs to be fixed.

As for you being at your keyboard 5 hours a night, great! I have no problem with you doing that. But, when you're not at the keyboard, you should have the courtesy to leave the public cantinas. Right now people are conditioned to go to you and other buffbots like you. I could be standing directly in front of you, asking everyone if I can buff them. And, 99 times out of 100 they will still go to you. Even if I buff faster and better. There is nothing most of us can do to change that. Believe me, this has been going on for a long time now and most of us have tried a crapload of methods to try to get our professions to work for us and we simply can't. I don't care how many people come on these boards and say they prefer live entertainers to afk entertainers, the reality is that in game, that's not the case. I could be screaming at the top of my lungs and spamming endlessly, but they will STILL go to you.

In adition to what drygo and shailas have said, i urge you to actualy TRY playing as a live ent, and not on your buffbot because it has a clientbase that knows its a buffbot. Go to another server and actualy try buffing as and ATK entertainer with no buffbot macro and do it in a cantina with a buffbot. Untill you've done that dont try to tell me why i should be able to do just fine with a buffbot around.

Drygo

your tage says it all man

"

I will defend your right to play how you want to play, as long as you're actually playing. When you're afk, you're not playing. '

who are you to tell me that I can not play AFK? you have stock in SOE ? are you a CSR?

I can and will play how I like this is the true problem... buff bots help the game. it is the dancers not wanting to step up and take back the customer base ot make a customer base of there own. like I said before some of my dance groups are full and people wait to get in why is it that a dance can not ask poeple to join her/his group? I do not see this happening ? I still have not had a answer to this question.

Your so wrong there Drygo. Nothing is being stolen from you. If you can not compete, I feel sorry for you, but that is the American way. Try to learn a way to market your services in a way that is interesting, rathor then seeking yet another dev intervention to FORCE people to come to you against there wills. Its wrong and in the end more people will cancel because of it then ever have due to buff bots.
